Lola and Brandon meet in Aruba and decide a one night stand is perfect for them until it isn’t. The chemistry between them is so hot and when they run into each other, more time together sounds great. I loved how Kelly shared our characters’ faults and weaknesses in the heart of the story. It helps make them so relatable and likable. I never want to put down Kelly’s stories and this one was the same. Can’t wait for the next one!
Epitome of adults figuring things out and making adult decisions. Brandon and Lola meet on vacation. When they meet again in New York, their relationship evolves from hook-up to friends with benefits to figuring out the consequences. In doing so, they each have to face their childhood traumas and move forward.

Lola and Brandon meet in Aruba. It is her last night there and they are both looking for some string-free fun. Their connection between the sheets in on fire so when they run into each other again it only makes sense to fall back in bed together. They are both on the same page as workaholics who have no intention of ever getting married or starting a family. As they spend more time together it seem like they may be forced to reexamine what they truly want out of life.
This book is part of a series but can easily be read as a standalone. I may have had some expectations about who Brandon was after his appearance in the first book of the series and his propensity for loud clothing. There is nothing over the top about him. He is a good guy who loves his dog, loves his team, and honestly believes it is better for him to be alone. Lola is striving to prove herself at work ostensibly for a promotion but more to prove something to herself. I appreciated her independence and envied her green thumb. This wasn't;t a book that inspired strong emotions in me but I always enjoy a well written story about two strong characters figuring themselves out and finding love. Add even an iota of hockey to the mix and all the better.
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I loved Good Hands. Kelly Jamieson took on the one-night stand and friends with benefits tropes in a way I don't remember having read before. Lola and Brandon met while on vacation in Aruba. Even though they both live in New York they decide on one night together only... until they randomly run into each other back home. They decide to continue to their sexual relationship. Both want and don't want the same things in life, so it should be simple to keep things casual. Of course, things are never that simple.
I loved how Lola and Brandon were together and how they reacted to everything thrown at them. Their personalities were a great combination with Lola being more serious and Brandon being a little silly. The friendship they built was very sweet and I loved how much they truly cared about each other. They had some ups and downs navigating their relationship and it felt like a real-life relationship. This is a surprise pregnancy romance, and it was a giant surprise because Lola and Brandon are two people who have no desire to get married or have kids. They have talked about it and make responsible birth control choices. Yet, they find themselves pregnant. I loved this because I don't know that I've read a book like this before where two adult characters have no plans to have a family and then have to make some decisions. I loved the representation. Kelly Jamieson did these characters justice with their story. I loved everything about Lola and Brandon's romance.
Lola knew after that night in Aruba she would never see Brandon, the hot hockey player again. But when their paths cross again in New York, their attraction leads to “just one more night”. Then another. And another. Eventually, it leads to an unexpected surprise.....
I love Jamieson's hockey romance. It was done very well with lots of fun banter. I enjoyed it a lot- like all of Jamieson's romance... The couple does sizzle together..... I love their chemistry... Love the ending especially.
Thanks to the publisher for the arc.
