I didn't know why it took me sooo freaking long to read this book.
It's been sitting on my kindle for a freaking year. Freaking hell!
I love this story sooo much!
It has the right amount of romance, and angst, and for the love of lawd the spice is *chef's kiss*
It's enemies to lovers alright but hell the tension between Carter and April is out of this world.
I really struggled with getting into this book. I felt like the main character was kind of annoying and not really relatable. Although there are many times when books aren't a true depiction of real life, I just thought the premise and circumstances weren't authentic.
Loved this heartfelt romance which brought on all the feels and held you until the very end!! Highly recommend this book.
Thanks to Netgalley for a copy of this book for an honest review.
I loved this book!! Two broken hearts coming together! Please make sure you download the bonus chapter from the author...it is magical!
A lovely short and sweet steamy romance. This book was right up my street with lovely characters and ofcourse plenty of romance
ARC provided by NetGalley! THIS BOOK IS EVERYTHING! I loved every minute of the struggles and the romance in this book. I could not put it down. It is a must read for romance lovers.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publishers for an e-ARC for an exchange for an honest review.
I thought this was an okay romance novel. I liked the characters and the plot intrigued me. I like the relationship between April and Carter. Sometimes it was a bit rocky, but overall good. The romance was good. I like the idea that Carter is a famous country star with an "edge" and April is almost like the girl next door in a small way. The only thing I did not like was the flash back scenes from each character they did not jive with the rest of the story. Meaning they came at random times and confused me why the author chose to randomly put them there. Other than that, the story was great.
it gave me all the feels. It had heart and love and laughter and make me want to read more of this series. Plus who doesn't like country with it.
I loved this book so much! It absolutely love how well written the story was, You can't help but to fall in love with both of them! I felt so invested in their story. I cant wait for the next book to come out! Thank you netgalley for the ARC!!
I would like to thank Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op for this free digital copy in exchange of an honest review.
A hot country singer who is trying to escape the press meets a sassy, pink-haired author who wants to beat writer's block.
First of all, I like Emmanuelle Snow's writing style. It got me with its banters and humor and made me stay with its romance. Carter and April made me laugh, tore me into pieces, and put them back together. I like how these two different persons with different realities found their perfect puzzle pieces in each other. Sometimes, it is easier to be an open book to someone who doesn't know you personally. This story made me more aware of how much facade celebrities show to people. They are too perfect on the screen that sometimes we forget that they are as human as we are. What I like the least about this book is that the main characters have too much lustful thoughts towards each other. They are quite unnecessary for me. However, I like how the side characters did not feel just side characters at all. My love for them grew as I went on to the story. They made the story significantly more colorful. I'm definitely adding Saunders to my book besties list.
Pink and Country is the first installment to Emmanuelle Snow's Carter Hills Band series. It was published on the 1st day of June, 2021. If you want the celebrity romance trope, you should check this one out. Let's make this hidden gem more popular.
This is one heck of an emotional journey. I became completely immersed in both April and Carter's back stories and rooted for them from the moment they met. It's a wild ride, but it's definitely one I recommend.
Thank you to Netgalley for the advanced copy for my honest review even though I just now read the book. I don't know why it took me so long. I will be reading this authors work from now on.
Thank you NetGalley and Emmanuelle Snow for the copy of Pink and Country. This is my personal review.
This book had me from the very beginning!
Carter and April are so perfect for each other but they each have to deal with the trust issues they have.
They connect and make each other complete. The author did an excellent job of making me want to meet these two in real life! I was so drawn into the story and did not want it to end. Let me just say that this book had lots a sizzle! Grab this one and enjoy your time with Carter and April.
Pink and Country was fantastically beautiful! Real people with real problems, emotional, strong and all around just perfectly written! I am so excited that I started this series. Even if the next book isn't available on NetGalley I will buy it!
This is a great book. The two main characters are April and Carter. April is a writer and Carter is a country music star. April’s friend has a cabin one of her clients rented but had to cancel, she offers it to April for her to use for a month to help her write her next book. Carter owns the property where April goes to rent the cabin. They meet but introduce themselves by their names but by nick names. Their is a mutual attraction. They each have trust issues, but work them out and fall in love.
Emmanuel Snow writes an intoxicating story about a famous country singer and a writer. This is a slow burn story with two main characters who are not looking for love, but find it when they are least expecting it.
Carter and April meet when they are both staying at separate cabins in the woods trying to get away from everything. They both have different reasons for wanting to get away, but when they meet, they seem to forget everything else.
I love reading stories about country stars, so I was excited to read this story. It is entertaining to watch Carter and April banter back and forth and fall in love. They have sizzling chemistry and I enjoyed all of their encounters.
Writer April Simmons has been given the chance to spend a month in a beautiful cabin in the mountains when her life is in need of a change. As soon as she arrives, her sleepless nights and her lack of inspiration are left behind.
She loves the peace and the nature she found there but also the hot, maddening, and sweet neighbor of hers – who turns out to be the big country music star Carter Hills.
They battle the war between love and fame the best way they can. It’s not an easy world but they will find a way to bring equilibrium to their lives.
I liked April’s independence and the way that Carter acts even though he’s a famous singer. Carter seems a bit paranoic sometimes about safety and anonymity but it’s justified given his past and present. Both are working through their past and the effects brought to their present. In my opinion, they did a good job getting over what once hurt them and were able to look at the bright and full of love future in from of them.
Sometimes I felt like certain parts were being repetitive but it didn’t make me like the story less.
I liked the main nicknames Carter gave April but it bothered me when he was calling her a new name according to each situation.
Another character I loved was Jack. He has a way to make this story brighter and more charming.
It’s a sexy, fun, loving, and musical story that will leave you with a smile – and maybe make you cry in some scenes. I enjoyed the love that sprung between April and Carter and how they found it impossible to resist it. Maybe they didn’t react in the best way when adversities came their way but they always found a way to make it work between them.
There’s also an extra chapter available outside the book that made me all smiles. And it has a scene that I felt was missing from the book: when April finally tells Carter what the nickname she gives him at the beginning of the story actually means.
I loved this book so much! It was well written, I fell in love with the characters, and their storyline. I can’t wait for the next book to be available!
This was an emotional rollercoaster that will transport you on a journey that will stick with you well after you read “The End”, and is filled with hot steamy chemistry sexy times, banter, and the perfect romantic settings. Delightful and charming… I absolutely adore this series.
Carter and April paint a picture of real people with real life issues. Carter comes from the life of a country star with a troubled past and several failed attempts at love. April is a writer who created beautiful worlds for many but never one for herself. Together they find a missing piece of their heart and a fire burning brighter than they ever thought possible.
The novel is full of fast moving, witty dialogue. There is a perfect amount of sass paired with realistic characters and a heavy dose of sexual tension mixed with romantic intentions. Think of it as a nod to 50 shades with a lighter dialogue and a uniqueness all its own. You will become a part of April and Carter's world and love every delicious minute of it.
3.5 Stars
This book is sooo hard to review without spoilers! But I'm going to do my best at keeping it simple. Pink and Country has a great plot, with some light-heartedness mixed with some deeper conflicts as well. The chemistry between the hero and heroine is more than palpable and the love scenes are steamy and abundant. It's definitely a good book if you're in the mood to follow a salacious couple through their ups and downs.
LOVED:
* The nicknames - at first it annoyed the heck out of me, but then they grew on me and I found them to be adorable
* Jack - kids are cute, what can I say?
* The honesty between Alice and Carter. They pour their hearts out and leave nothing behind.
* The "sexy time" For reals... this story included some of the best love scenes I've read
* He's always feeding her (10000 swoony points for noms)
WOULD HAVE LOVED:
*A little less reaffirmation of their love
* A little less of the use of the word "woman" but it actually started to become endearing
FAVORITE QUOTES:
"If only I could swallow her worries with one kiss. And then fill her with unfaltering happiness with every other one. I'd kiss her every day to make it happen."
"Ohmyfuckinggod. We were playing Monopoly, and it felt as if I was being fucked senseless."
"April dropped a kiss on my lips, so soft it freed me from years of pain. The twinkle in her eyes glued back together more pieces of my heart that'd been hanging around in my chest for years."
"...her lips pinched in a thin line, her jaw set, and her brows wrinkled, looking like one of those Angry Birds."
OVERALL:
Read it! It's cute and cozy. Not too heavy. Quite lusty. Plenty of swoony moments too.
