In a painful, transparent account, Freeman shows the reader who she is as a person. A tower of strength and resilience, who develops through her adversities, the author takes the reader on her journey from being a victim to emerging as a victor.
In her lyrical style, Freeman shows the not-so-nice side of human nature and also gives us a look inside the wonderful hearts of those who have made a difference in her life.
You'll be touched and uplifted by Susannah's story of triumph over her enemies in the first half of the book and encouraged by Stephanie's healing journey as the second portion unfolds.
Survivor: Stumbling Blocks to Stepping Stones by Stephanie M. Freeman is book two in the multi-author, standalone Grateful Hearts Inspirational series.
Ms. Freeman’s true life story eerily mirrors the biblical story of Susanna and Joaquim. I won’t spoil your reading with too many details, but this is an epic story.
Stephanie M. Freeman pens another masterpiece in Survivor. I was wholly enveloped by her prose, so sweet and welcoming, though parts of her personal story are heartbreaking. We see her solitary pain develop into a multitude of healing. Phenomenal. Touching, Inspiring. Emotional. Screams Lifetime movie. The author reaches success after the lowest of lows. Survivor is a chart-topping 5 out of 5 stars. I recommend it to all readers of inspirational nonfiction.
Teaser chapters of Freeman’s previous books show more of her way with words and will send you back to the bookstore or your online book retailer.
My thanks to Macro Publishing Group and NetGalley for the opportunity to read an advance copy of this book. However, the opinions expressed in this review are 100% mine and mine alone.
I read the bible story at the beginning and had to put it down, because I kinda knew where it was going, but when I picked it back up, I had no idea it was going to go like that. My heart hurted for the author and felt the strength she needed to be that vulnerable and tell her truth. I hope that by telling her truth, she can further heal and be set free from troubles like what she has endured. I also especially reading about how her tribe continually stands with and beside her whle she was healing.
I recieved a copy of the book via Netgalley and am voluntarily leaving an honest review of my own thoughts and opinions.
Enjoyed this book so much!! A definite page turner! I couldn't put it down. Trying to balance the anger and betrayal with forgiveness is a hard way to row.
Thank you Stephanie Freeman, for sharing this heart-stirring, tear-jerking and miraculous story,
It forcefully reminded me that the God we serve was amazing, is amazing and will always be amazing.
I encourage everyone who needs their faith in God restored to read this fantastic book. This book is about a mother's love for her child, love, betrayal, and amazing grace. A heartwarming miracle.
Even the parts that brought me to tears gave me cause to shout Hallelujah!
A true survivor story for sure.

Just WOW!!! You Survived. Not only did you survive, but you are thriving. This is a story of triumphant, and redemption. I had much ridicule for some of the characters, but nothing but applause for the heroine. You are that a heroine of your own story. So beautifully told. Raw, and very emotional. I applaud the author for writing your truths and mostly for healing. Never give up on complete healing. There may be obstacles and setbacks but they are apart of growth. God will always put the right people in place to take you to the next level. Kudos Stephanie.

The first thing that comes to mind is one of my favorite gospel songs, ‘New Life’ by John P. Kee.
Vivid, yet written with so much grace and elegance, the author shares her story of death and life. A survivor in every sense of the word.
The most powerful memoir you’ll ever read. It will change your life.
Bravo, my sister. Bravo. If I could give this 100 stars, I would.
