I loved loved loved this book!!!The twists and turns in this thriller kept me guessing until the end. The characters were well developed and diverse. There were enough hidden agendas amongst them to intrigue me and heartbreaking stories to endear them to me at the same time.
Fabulous job by narrator Stacey Glemboski. I have listened to her in previous audiobooks and she never disappoints.
Thankyou to NetGalley and Bookouture for the ARC.
A good story for the people that enjoy thrillers.
I can't describe it as being a psychological thriller,so it's hard to givea specific category, but it has elements of suspense, drama and some unknown that is well worth for a thriller.
A story that I've enjoyed reading while driving, gave me a clear inside of the characters but I wasn't really surprised by the ending,it was kinda predictibile.
I wouldn't say that 214 Palmer Street is a psychological thriller, yet it was a good story with enough suspense to hold my attention until I had finished listening to the audiobook. The story is well told, the narration is good, if you enjoy relationship drama and some suspense, this is for you.
With thanks to Karen McQuestion, Bookouture Audio and Netgalley for the advanced audiobook.
The main character getting hit over the head with a rock and then the flashbacks every other chapter feels very much like how I as a reader did getting through this story.
I've read other work by author that I enjoyed, but this one really reminded me of when I had a concussion and was trying to make sense of anything.
As a major fan of mysteries, I had high hopes. Sadly, this book disappointed my expectations.
This story is about a woman named Sarah, she is happily married to Kirk, the love of her life. Sarah suffers a head injury and recovery is taking far longer than she anticipated. Her husband is by her side through the whole thing…. Almost a little too much. After finding out some information about Kirk’s teen years Sarah is left with more questions than answers. She begins to question who she can trust and who is telling the truth. Kirk’s childhood home at 214 Palmer Street has a secret and Sarah is determined to find it.

This was a very interesting story with but I found it predictable. I liked the premise of the story, however it seemed to drag out and there was not a great twist. Sarah was a very likable character and I was rooting for her. It was well written and I do recommend reading this book I just wish it was more suspenseful.
214 Palmer Street was a very predictable, yet engaging mystery. I thought the plot was original, but the story slowed at times.
I didn’t find any of the characters particularly likable. This could have been in part because of the voices the narrator gave them. I found most of them to be very whiny. I also had trouble differentiating the characters at times.
Though the story was predictable, I did have a strong desire to keep listening to find out if my predictions were correct. It was a quick two day read.
I would recommend 214 Palmer St. to anyone who likes stories told from multiple points of view and doesn’t mind a predictable mystery.

Thank you @netgalley and @bookoutureaudio for this advanced audiobook.
Sarah and Kirk have been married for a couple years and Kirk is an extremely devoted husband. When Sarah is attacked in their home, he's devastated and never leaves her side. During her healing process, she finds out some interesting information regarding Kirk and his group of friends from high school, including 2 individuals that he's still friends with today - Clarice and Gavin. This group has some serious secrets, and Sarah is going to attempt to uncover them...
Wow. 214 Palmer Street did not disappoint! I was hooked within a few chapters, it only took me a couple days to finish it. I'm so glad I was approved for this audiobook! It's everything I look for in a thriller - unpredictable, twists and turns, heart racing and anxiety inducing! Definitely did not see the end coming. My only complaint is the narrator. I wasn't a huge fan of her, it was hard to differentiate between a lot of the characters which was difficult going back and forth between past and present. 100% recommend this book!
A house with a mysterious house sitter. Four childhood friends with secrets and one gone too young. Clarice, Gavin, Kirk... who did it?
I'm glad I listened to this on audio, as I liked the narrator. The book wasn't my favorite, but it wasn't bad either. It kept my interest, but for a thriller, I do prefer a page-turner, a little more fast paced in the middle and end, and it really only provided that in the end. It was a good book though and worth a read if you're a fan of thrillers.

Thank you Bookouture Audio and NetGalley for the advanced copy of this book!
I enjoyed listening to this audio book. I liked the different character perspectives but listening to it was slightly confusing, although I liked the narrator it wasn’t always easy to distinguish between some of the characters voices, I think it would be easier to follow in print.
I did feel it dragged a little bit in places but overall it was a good story.
AUDIOBOOK
Maggie is the senior citizen watchdog in the neighborhood. She is surprised to meet the lovely Sarah, when her neighbors Cady and Josh hadn't mentioned a housesitter. A bit. nonplussed, she keeps a careful eye on the new temporary neighbor.
Sarah has lots to hide and very little time to complete the goal that has lead her to the house. Can she before she is discovered?
Several POV's and flashbacks provide the background you need to piece together the story. I really enjoyed it and although I had my suspicions, I didn't guess the twists til the end. If you like a good neighbor mystery, fancy yourself part of a neighborhood watch or just want a great domestic thriller, #214PalmerStreet is for you! #NetGalley #Bookotoure
This was a good book. It kept me intrigued throughout. Listening to the audiobook was a little confusing when switching points of view. But I think reading the physical book would have been better. I like the narrator and I like the twist in the story!
Thank you so much to NetGalley, Bookoutre, and the author for an advance listener’s audiobook of 214 Palmer Street in exchange for an honest review. I listened on my iPhone from 3/29 - 4/2.
The description of this book interested me so I was a little upset to have been denied from the ebook arc of this title first. I think it worked out for the better, though, because I am not sure my attention would have stuck in physical reading form for this particular title.
At first, the story captivated me. There’s a girl at 214 Palmer where she doesn’t belong. There is a shift to “before” where she was attacked at her own home by an unknown person. And an “after” where she is hiding away from everyone in her friend’s house without permission…. for what reason? What is it about this house? I was excited to find out how it all fit together. I enjoy the types of stories that don’t make sense but you still with it until they do. It was a great set-up, but the execution fell a little flat for me when we shifted from “then” vs. “now” to only present term and was unrealistic.
This book left me with so many unanswered questions, and not in a good way. More in a I need to know this for the story to even make sense way. I’m not going to list them here for the sake of spoilers!
I did enjoy the narrator. Often I find it difficult to listen to audiobooks of stories written from multiple perspectives, especially those including male POVs, with one female narrator. But she did a good job without making it weird or confusing.
Overall, I would rate this audiobook 3/5 stars. It was okay, but it didn’t quite hit the mark for me. I might still recommend to others.
Thank you again for the opportunity to read and review!
A solid 4-star listen!
When Sarah is attacked near her house, her husband Kirk starts to worry that someone is out to harm them. They have also received threatening notes, Sarah says there was only one note but Kirk says they were in multiples.
As Sarah starts to worry about what happened, and as she learns about a few details that happened in Kirk's teenage years she wonders why Kirk was not as open as her about his past.
When Sarah decides to dig into the past, too many things get unraveled and the question is will everyone involved survive?
This books starts off a bit confusing - once I was about a couple of chapters in I got a better understanding and thoroughly enjoyed the whole narration.
Thanks to Bookouture Audio for the advanced listener's copy
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for approving me for this arc
I really enjoyed this, I felt in the beginning it was a little bit all over the place then became predictable but it was a good read overall and I would recommend if
Sarah finds some things out that make her question whether or not her husband is hiding some pretty sinister secrets. This story had me on the edge of my seat at some points, waiting to see what would happen and if my predictions were right.
I found a few parts of the book to be a bit predictable and also too convenient to be believable, but overall I really enjoyed listening to it!
Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for the opportunity to listen to this audio book in return for an honest review.
Synopsis
A house with a secret. A woman with nothing to lose.
When Maggie sees the beautiful Venetian blinds moving in the Caldwells’ front window, she freezes. Her favorite neighbours Cady and Josh are away, so who is in their house?
The pretty young woman who answers the door tells a convincing story. She’s Sarah. The house-sitter. Just here for a month. An old friend of Cady’s who needed a place to stay. She’s pleasant and warm, and Maggie wanders back to her house thinking she might have made a new friend. Yet she can’t help but wonder why Cady never mentioned Sarah.
What Maggie doesn’t know is that on the other side of the door, Sarah is starting to panic. No one was meant to see her at 214 Palmer Street…
An unputdownable psychological thriller from number one bestseller Karen McQuestion, which will make you question what secrets your own neighbors are hiding… For fans of The Girl on the Train, The Woman in the Window and Gone Girl
I’m a huge fan of a psychological thriller, but was unfamiliar with the author. For me this was a slightly confusing fairiy slow paced novel. However I stuck with it and it did gather momentum, but for me the red herring clues scattered throughout were fairly obvious and I did guess the ending, however that’s not unusual for me so perhaps shouldn’t be assumed as a negative. The writing was fairly good and equally the narration.
This is the first book I read from this author and the premise was very intriguing. However after a few chapters the story became very predictable and the plot twists didn’t surprise me. Besides that some of the characters’ actions were not believable and it dragged the book down in my opinion.
Sarah has married the most perfect caring husband she could ever hope for. Even his parents have adopted her as a daughter which is lovely as her parents have passed away. They live in a lovely house, have a financially secure life and she loves her job.
However an accident and the following weeks soon have her dissecting her ‘perfect’ life, and soon she has the beginnings of paranoia and when she starts to look deeper into things it all starts to unravel in the most peculiar way!
The narrator was great although I did enjoy it better on 1.25 speed.
The story was gripping and had me finished in under 2 days! It must be everyone’s fear that their perfect house of cards could so easily fall from one incident!
I would recommend this book and I would read another by the author and this was my first experience of her books.
This was my honest and voluntary review of the audio book.
Great premise. Sluggish book. We have a group of people that have been friend-ly since high school. As normal, some drift apart only to be brought back together for unseen reasons. One becomes the chief of police, others get married, some move away, and one well - dies. The tale evolves around these characters and we look at how this group moves on with their lives only to be brought back together. Thanks to NetGalley for the early read.
Had me on the edge of my seat! Layer upon layer of mistrust and deception. Will keep you guessing until the end.
