This was a really good, solid mystery! I really enjoyed it and look forward to more titles by Edwin Hill.

I admit that it took me awhile to get through this audiobook. I really enjoyed the narrator, but thought that maybe I would have been better off reading the book because in the beginning I had a hard time getting into the story, I found it complicating and there seemed to be more and more characters to keep straight, and their aliases to boot. I stuck with it and ultimately found it to be a good mystery. I enjoyed the narrator. I thank Netgalley and RB Media for the opportunity to listen to and review this audiobook.

This was a 3.5 for me.

Without giving much away, a series of coincidences involving murder keep coming up around 2 sisters who have similar trauma in their past.

Some of what I didn't like as much while reading the book was that it was told in alternating perspectives, which was mostly fine, but every once & a while, there would be another perspective or 2 that let you know everything was not normal, but there wasn't much context and the sections were relatively short. How this played out for me, as a reader, was that I was very interested in the main story, I would be taken out of it for some additional insight, but that didn't really pay off until the end when everything came together. If those sections has been longer, it may have been easier to make the mental switch and then try to piece things together myself, but as it was, it ended up just taking me out of the story as it unfolded. I did like the alternating perspectives between Natalie and Glenn though. I thought it gave a better view of the past and present situations.

The writing was engaging and I always wanted to know what was next, especially because some new coincidence was always around the corner. I thought Hill did a great job of tying everything together & not leaving me with unanswered questions.

The narrator, Hannah Cabell did a wonderful job embodying all of the characters in each stage of life. Each character absolutely felt unique.

I would like to thank NetGalley, RB Media, and Edwin Hill for a free copy in exchange for an honest review.

This title archived before I was able to listen to it. I'm hoping to get it from the library at some point.

*Thank you RB Media for the audiobook in exchange for an honest review. Review not posted to Amazon/Goodreads because less than 4 stars or DNF.*

Natalie Cavanaugh, a through-and-through Boston cop, and camera-ready Glenn Abbott, about to launch her first cookbook, are different as night and day – no one would expect them to be sisters. The girls have a secret that most in their lives today don’t know about – 20 years ago, their dad’s body was found in the woods behind their house. When a dead body is found in a building near Glenn’s house, and Natalie is part of the team leading the investigation, old secrets and new pop up, tying up their father’s murder with the current investigation.

This story was chock full of twists and turns to keep you guessing! Hannah Gabell did a great job narrating the audiobook. There are a few things that are far-fetched, but apart from that, this was an enjoyable read!

Many thanks to NetGalley for providing me an audio ARC of this book.

I was able to listen to this book pretty quickly. I do think that is because of the narrator. The narrator was really good and pleasant to listen to. The story overall wasn't that convincing to me, so I took off two whole apples for that...

Pros
Narrator: The narrator was a pleasure to listen to. Really easy to understand what is told, very calm and a lovely telling voice. I've seen reviews for this book; people who did or didn't like the book; they all liked the narrator!
Characters: The characters in this book were interesting. It was a big cast of characters, but the way they are introduced makes it so you will be able to remember every single one of them. The two I liked most were Natalie and Maeven (no idea if I'm writing it the right way).

Cons
Story: This was such a chaotic story. I feel like the author had multiple good ideas and wanted to cram them all in the same book. It made for a very unbelievable story which contained money laundering, multiple murders, secrets from the past, kidnapping, stalking and people who are not who they seem to be. Include a ton of secrets and there you go.

Overall
The narrator made this a better book than it would have been if I had read it on my own, I think. If you want to read this one, I'd recommend picking up the audiobook. I was able to listen to the almost 9 hours pretty quickly, thanks to this narrator. The story was definitely messy, but the characters were well written and all the secrets and plot twists made for a fast paced story.

Family secrets and murder are the basis for this suspenseful who dun it. Two sisters nothing like each other in adulthood yet bonded together by the trauma of their father’s death when they were young. A murder happens and these opposite sisters are thrown back together as one a detective invesitigates and the other a popular food blogger is receiving threatening messages. Can the two sisters work through their past to help solve this murder? This book was a good mystery that had a great opening. The narrator does a great job and is easy to listen to. Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for an advanced copy of this book.

Thank you RB Media & @netgalley for an ALC in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you Partner @bibliolifestyle & @kensingtonbooks for my gifted book and tour opportunity.

This story was so twisty and bingeable! Told in past/present timelines and multiple POV, there were two murders to be resolved. Everyone had so many secrets - you really can’t trust anyone! The Secrets We Share was so difficult to put one down because I had to see how things played out. I really enjoyed this gripping story and seeing how everything came together. I recommend this one to fans of twisty mystery thrillers that are heavy on police/detective procedures.
4⭐️

I did a combo of audio & print copies- enjoyed both formats. The audio narration was great but there were certain chapters from an unknown POV that confused me that would have benefitted from their own narrator. ****

I received this audio copy of The Secrets We Share by Edwin Hill last year as an ARC. I tried to listen to it then, but DNF'd it at the time. I apparently wasn't in the right head space to listen to it, because I revisited it today, and enjoyed it.

This book was just ok for me. I listened to the audiobook and the narrator did a good job. The overall story didn't really keep my attention.

This book was amazing! I slowed it down to 80% just to make it take longer, and I loved the narrator. I didn’t want it to end! While I sometimes found it hard to keep track of characters, it was so full of twists and turns that I hadn’t seen coming! I only anticipated one, but it still wasn’t quite what I expected. I can’t believe that a male author wrote such real female characters, and I can’t wait to read more from him.

We begin with Glen and Natalie as young girls and the murder of their father.fast forward years later we find that Natalie is now a cop and glen a successful blogger and mother. When Glen's daughter stumbles upon a dead body, life as they know it will never be the same again. The characters were good but I just wasn't as interested in them as I was in the story. The story was great with all its twists and turns, with an ending that could not have been predicted. The audio narrators voice suited the book.
I recommend this book to anyone who loves a good mystery with lots of twists, and a cast of characters who each have their own secrets.

The story centers mainly around two sisters, Glenn and Natalie. They share a trauma from their childhood. Their father was murdered and their neighbor confessed and killed herself. Fast forward two decades Natalie is in law enforcement and Glenn has a blog. Their lives are about to get interesting when Glenn's young daughter found a man dead. Secrets are about to come out and a web of craziness.

I liked how the book showed what was going on through so many different people. It helped round out the story, you weren't just getting it from one side. The characters were interesting, but I didn't connect with any of them. Natalie seemed like she needed to battle some demons and Glenn seemed like the type who pretends they don't have any issues. I did like how Natalie was so ready to go to war for her niece.

I thought the author did such a good job at writing all the twists. I tried my hardest to just listen to the book and not guess what is going on. Some of the twists I was surprised with. While it was a good listen I wasn't really ever on the edge of my seat. I look forward to reading more form the author!

Interesting storyline - and an overall good book. There are some parts where the story is a bit weak, but there was enough draw to keep me coming back and finishing the story.

Good audiobook. Fast pace and wanting to read more each time I had to stop. Characters were a little weak in some areas, but overall glad I read it.

Thank you to NetGalley for the audio advance reader copy of this book. Great story with many twists and turns. Some chapters go back in time (to 1995), but the narrator clearly tells us when that is happening. Hill writes a true mystery that keeps the reader guessing and guessing wrong a lot. Love books where I can't quite figure out the ending. 4.5 rounded up to 5 stars!

A great read! I loved the fast pace, twists, and turns, the characters were well-rounded and (for the most part) likable, and the narrator was perfectly suited to the tale. 4 stars.

Thanks to NetGalley, the author, and publisher for my ARC.
