Sisters can share the same family but grow up to be entirely different adults. Natalie Cavanaugh seems like a strait-laced member of the Boston PD, conservative in her dress and manner, while her sister, Glenn Abbott, is a flashy redhead always ready for the spotlight, running a successful baking blog and soon to be a first-time author. No one suspects that twenty years ago, their father's life ended as he was discovered dead in the woods behind their home. It's a secret they have shared for years thinking that their neighbor who the dad was having an affair with was the murderer. The neighbor then committed suicide so the case was closed.

Things change when Glenn starts getting messages that are frightening on her blog, and the girls realize that perhaps someone knows something they thought was hidden. Spearheaded by Glenn's daughter finding a dead body in an abandoned building, the sisters are on track to a mystery, that is filled with suspense, and secrets that are waiting to be reveled.

This certainly was a twisty thriller. Just when you thought you had pinned things done, the author threw a curve ball and you were once again traveling down a mysterious road. There were some things that were indeed a bit OTT but overall, this was a well done story that kept me listening for hours.

Thank you to Edwin Hill, narrated by Hannah Cabell this is a tale that readers who enjoy thrillers will be sure to like. Another thanks goes to NetGalley for an early audiobook that kept me quite interested and intrigued. This book is due out March 29,2022.

Overall, the book was well written.

Sisters Natalie and Glenn could not be more different. Natalie is a detective — while Glenn is more focused on her baking blog. The pair seem to be hiding a chilling secret.

Twenty years ago the sisters father was found murdered in the woods near their house. Now, an anonymous person is sending Glenn messages saying she’s being watched. When another dead body is found they start to get nervous.

Natalie always believed that her father was murdered by a neighbor whom he was having an affair. However, she begins to question everything she’s ever been told including everything about her sister. What really happened that night her father was murdered? Who can she trust?

There are so many questions and secrets the characters keep from each other. This is definitely a fast, intriguing and twisted novel!

I kept hearing about this book everywhere and while a new to me author I took a chance on it and really enjoyed the audiobook. There are two mysteries to follow in the past Glenn and Natalie’s father was murdered by his mistress and then in the present Glenn’s daughter finds a body in an abandoned house.

I had a little trouble connecting to the characters, but I needed to know what had happened and needed to keep listening. Something just seemed different as I listened and I saw the author on a chat with a bookstore and he mentioned he wrote the book. Then he took the first half and condensed it into the first either quarter or third, to speed up the pacing and get to the twists sooner. Maybe that was it, but it felt a little different than the other thrillers I’ve read. After mentioning that, I should say this one is still somewhat of a slow burn, but for some reason I did not mind it in this one.

Hannah Cabell narrates this one and did a good job keeping my interest. I will definitely watch for his next book.

Thank you Netgalley for this audio edition of The Secrets We Share by Edwin Hill.

Natalie and Glenn are adult sisters that could not be more different. Natalie is a cop with an alcohol problem, Glenn is a food blogger who makes money with beauty and connection. But they both share a trauma from their childhood, one that they still don't quite understand.

But all of it is brought to the surface after a new crime happens, and now the sisters will have to confront the secrets that their family has kept for over twenty years. Will the two sisters be able to uncover everything that happened all of those years ago?

Every now and again, this got a bit muddy, I had a hard time keeping characters straight, as well as time period. It's a good domestic drama overall, and it's full of floppy turns and twists that will give you plenty of whiplash.

Well played, Edwin Hill! This book came out of nowhere and totally blew me away!

The blurb didn't initially grab me - "Two sisters, one long-ago murder, and a web of terrifying secrets collide in a gripping thriller." Although it sounds like the theme of a hundred other books, from the first chapter, I could tell this wasn't your run-of-the-mill thriller. A body is found in an abandoned building and the coincidences begin piling up. The body is discovered by a 12-year-old girl, who just so happens to be the daughter of a famous blogger, Glenn; whose sister, Natalie, just happens to be the investigating detective; the wallet found near the body just so happens to be a friend of Glenn's husband and a former friends-with-benefits of Natalie. And then add in a twist that Natalie and Glenn's father was murdered twenty years earlier by their neighbor, with whom he was having an affair, only to have the neighbor kill herself shortly after. It soon becomes abundantly obvious that the murder of their father isn't as dead and buried in the past as they thought, and all of their secrets are about to come to light in the present.

It is such a wickedly twisted tale. At first I thought the coincidences were a bit much, and I was ready to blast the plot as overdone; but then it all just worked somehow. For the most part, the coincidences actually made sense and fell into place beautifully. It kept me guessing until the very end, and there is a twist that had me re-reading the page several times to make sure I had read it correctly - I even went back to earlier parts of the book to see if I should have caught on earlier. Very well executed twist! Were a few parts a bit of a stretch? Yes. Did they take away from my overall enjoyment of the book? Absolutely not.

This book has a little bit of everything - murder, suspense, domestic drama, police procedural, characters to root for, and a few wild twists.

A great crafted thriller that mixes childhood family tragedy, murder, infidelity, embezzlement, and so many secrets that creates the ultimate whodunnit!

Two sisters, now adults, must once again face the unexpected horror of the murder of their father when they were teens. A neighbor had taken the blame for his death and then committed suicide, however they always thought it was likely their mom who killed their dad.

Now both parents are dead and the secrets they kept are now becoming deadly to the people they love.

I enjoyed this book as it was a solid twisted thriller.

5/5 For the Audiobook- The Narrator did an extremely good job at keeping me engaged and I would definitely recommend.

Edwin Hill gives you an enjoyable domestic thriller with Secrets We Share. I liked how the two families from the girls childhood are woven together in their adult life. There were a few nuances that frustrated me, but I guess that’s what makes thrillers work sometimes. I enjoyed the narrator and thought she did a perfect job of expressing the story!

Natalie and Glenn's father was murdered twenty years ago, but no one was ever arrested for committing it. now Natalie is a police officer and single, and Glenn, an internet celebrity is unhappily married and has a young daughter, but when another body is found, the sisters know this time the danger is upon them,
an absolute thrilling book and a one sit read. it was really great. well formed twist and multiple murders, a smart cop who is directly involved with everything that has happened and lots of secrets and lies.
a gripping and captivating story, definitely a fast read that deserves a solid five star from me.

Excellent book! I wasn't sure how much I liked sisters Natalie and Glenn when I was first introduced to them, but like anyone you just meet, you have to learn their back story and what makes them tick, what drives them. There are many characters to keep straight in their story, but we keep coming back to the sisters and slowly they each grew on me. The action starts right away in this book and unfolds with enough detail that my brain was filling in the holes with assumptions on who did it, who was guilty, and why. As the story plays out, the guilty come in and out of focus, and I could never quite guess the truth. I love this! This book was full of surprises!

My favorite character was Glenn's 12 year old daughter. I loved her methodical, incredibly smart mind. I would enjoy reading about her as an adult starring in a future book of her own.

A BIG thanks to NetGalley and RB Media, Recorded Books for the audiobook version of this book in exchange for my honest review. I thought the narrator did a great job with all the characters.

Natalie and Glenn are two sisters with a tragic past. Natalie has become a detective while Glenn is a baking blogger, What secrets will be uncovered after Glenn’s daughter finds a dead body in an abandoned building in town?

I was into this thriller. It keeps you guessing and new suspects keep emerging along the way. My only criticism is that at a certain point the twists almost became too many with character name changes and I suddenly couldn’t even keep track of all the twists.

Nonetheless, this is an entertaining book that will keep you guessing the entire time.
Pick this up if you like thrillers that keep you wondering whodunnit until almost the very last page.

I never read a book by Edwin Hill, but I am glad I took a chance on this author. The Secrets We Share was an excellent read. I really thought I knew who committed the crimes, but I was SO VERY WRONG. I was kept on my toes and the book just made me want to keep reading.

The Secrets We Share is about sisters Natalie and Glenn Cavanaugh and the tragedy they faced when their mother was accused of killing their abusive father when they were in high school. Glenn and Natalie find the body of their father while walking in the woods behind their house. We are also introduced to the next-door neighbor; a woman with two kids Lindsey and Tanya. Within days of the police thinking that the mother was the right suspect, the next-door neighbor admits to having an affair with Mr. Cavanaugh and that she murdered him and as the police close in, she kills herself. Flash forward to present day Natalie is a police officer and Glenn is trying to make it as an author. Glenn is married to a man named Jake and has a daughter, Mavis, in 7th grade. Both Glenn and Natalie cope with the trauma of their youth differently. Glenn with her blog, book, daughter and marriage while Natalie is married to the job, drinks a lot and is without friends, a husband or children.

The book starts with a dead body, Mr. Cavanaugh, and in present day leads to another dead body. Mavis is dared to go into an abandoned building where she finds the rotting corpse of a man. The bodies are all connected to both Glenn and Natalie, they just do not know it yet. Natalie and her partner Detective Perez start investigating. One day later, Glenn's husband is also murdered, leading us to 2 dead bodies in a matter of 24 hours. The detectives, Natalie, Detective Perez, the Boston PD Captain Angela and even the local police start working together to solve the two murders in attempts to prevent another one from occurring. All of the lies, secrets and deceptions come rolling together in one big sucker punch at the end of the book.

There are so many twists and turns in this book. I literally thought about 2/3 of the way through the book I had all the answers. I was really wrong; I knew part of it but not the big picture. All of the secrets that each character held was connected to the previous secret. The sisters had secrets, Glenn's husband had secrets, Mavis had secrets, Lindsey and Tanya had secrets, even Mrs. Cavanaugh had secrets.

I really recommend this book. I enjoyed it and can only continue to rave about it. I have been telling anyone who will listen about it. I even have the name of this book posted on my wall titled Books Ms. Cooke is reading in hopes that my students may decide to pick it up.

Thanks NetGalley for the ARC for The Secrets We Share by Edwin Hill. I highly recommend this book especially if you want to read a book that keeps your attention and wanting more.

Great twists in this book! Everyone had a secret, that led to one big secret which is the cause of all the murders. Very interesting how one thing led to the next and it snowballed out of control. I'd recommend this read!

Audiobook narration was decent as well. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC of this audiobook for my honest review.

I actually chose this audio book by accident, because I was so excited for the opportunity to read this book. So the fact that I don't enjoy audiobooks and that I didn't really like the narrator does not affect my review at all.
A masterfully written whodunnit that kept me guessing until the end. There were several jaw dropping moments, and I had no idea where this story was going to end up. I love the characters and that we get glimpses of familiar places and people from his other novels. The suspense builds throughout the story but there is enough action that it is not overpowering. Family secrets, lies and murder, what is not to love! Thank you to Netgalley and Kensington Books for the opportunity to review this one, I would highly recommend this to anyone who loves crime thrillers!

We don’t talk about murder no no no. ifykyk

2o years ago their father was brutally murdered. Sisters, Natalie Cavanaugh is a detective for the Boston PD and Glenn Abbott is a food blogger. When Glen’s daughter finds a dead body, a series of events begin to happen and it becomes obvious that their family is being targeted and someone from their past, has not left the past in the past. It also seems this dead body is bringing up secrets from Natalie & Glenn's fathers murder.

I enjoyed this one. Edwin Hill delivered a fast paced thriller, filled with twists and turns that will have you glued from start to finish. I can also honestly say even though there is so much going on, it is very easy to keep up.

Secrets from the past complicate everything.

“The Secrets We Share” is the story of two sisters, so different and yet so much alike. Sisters do not have secrets from each other … do they? Natalie is a police officer; it is her job to know everyone and everything. Glenn has a book about to be released; she is a social influencer and has the very public face and a very private family. Mistakes are made, and everyday life becomes problematic.

This is also the story of murder, a murder in the present that complicates life, and a murder in the past that seeps into the present. The narrative goes back and forth in time to fill in details, but that past that no one wants to relive has significance in the present. The sisters have secrets, deep secrets, secrets that might get them killed. Then, there is another murder. Are they connected? Who connects them? This is a small town, and everyone knows everything about everyone – they think. Sometimes people are not who they seem to be, and surprises are hiding in plain sight.

I received an audio review copy of “The Secrets We Share” from Edwin Hill, Hannah Cabell, RB Media, and Recorded Books. Caball’s narrative is multi-dimensional, at times pleasing, supportive, and matter of fact, while at other times cautionary, unsettling and shocking. There is urgency in the narration, a tone of anticipation and yet dread of what is to come. The story is gripping and filled with complex family entanglements both in the present and in the past.

Secrets, murders, mistakes,

I really liked the audiobook and loved the narrator. The story was right up my alley and I couldn’t wait to hear how it ended!

Sisters Natalie and Glenn could not be more different. Natalie is the logical, practical one. Glenn is focused on her baking blog which seems to be taking off. However, the pair is hiding a chilling secret.

Twenty years ago sisters Glenn Natalie’s father was found murdered in the woods near their house. Now, an anonymous person is sending Glenn messages saying she’s being watched. When another dead body is found they begin to worry.

Natalie always believed that her father was murdered by a neighbor whom he was having an affair. She begins to question everything she’s been told as well as the people in her life including her sister. What really happened that night? Who can she trust?

Thank you to Netgalley and RB Media for this arc in exchange for my honest review.

The story follows two sisters, Natalie, and Glenn who both have secrets and lies. Natalie is a Boston Police Detective and Glenn is a food blogger who is in the process of publishing her first book. Mavis, Glenn’s daughter discovers a body in an abandon building, and this starts a string of murders that are somehow all connected. These murders bring Natalie and Glenn back to their childhood where their neighbor was the prime suspect of killing their father in the woods behind their home. This was a small-town mystery where everyone seems to be hiding something. I liked how the story’s timelines went back and forth between present time, and back to when Natalie and Glenn were children. I loved the twists and turns which kept me guessing through the end. The character development was solid. This was a fun, fast paced mystery that was about family secrets, murder, and childhood trauma.
