Gripping story and character building from start to finish.
Mysteries are quite possibly my favorite books, and this book kept me guessing until the end. Which is so refreshing. It was unpredictable in a way that made sense and made the reader feel was the natural progression as soon as it was laid out.

I very much look forward to reading more from this author in the future.

When they were young, Natalie and Glenn’s father was murdered, and now in the present, another mystery has brought up the past.
I love a fast paced, multiple POV thriller. This one has short chapters with so many twist and that kept me from putting it down. I loved every minute of it.

This was a great book - more twists than a cheap hose. I was engaged the whole time, trying to connect the dots. I enjoyed every minute of it. Thank you for the opportunity.

There is plenty provided to keep you hooked and waiting for answers. However, for me personally, there were way too many secrets held by many characters. I couldn’t get invested in any one character/storyline because there were endless possibilities for who did what. By the time revelations were happening, I wasn’t super excited. I will say that the very end was a bit of a surprise! I wish I got more of that storyline throughout this read.

I’m sure many would enjoy this ride, just wasn’t my cup of tea!

I am thoroughly impressed with this binge-worthy, twisty thriller. This was my first novel by this author, and while this genre can be competitive, the author did an amazing job with keeping me interested and entertained from start to finish. I was honestly guessing until the very end! Is it a little bit far-fetch? Perhaps, but I still loved it and I could definitely see the author creating a series with this book being the first installment.

Sisters Natalie and Glenn are very different, but something they do have in common is the tragedy that shook their family when they were kids. Now the sisters are adults with careers and it seems the secrets of their past are back to haunt them and threaten everything they've worked so hard to keep buried.

When Glenn's daughter, Mavis, finds a dead body in an abandoned building, events seem to spiral out of control and coincidences from Glenn's past and present come to light. It becomes apparent that Glenn and Natalie have to question everyone and trust no one, even those they are closest to.

While every character is flawed in their own way, their flaws only make them more realistic to me. I felt sorry for Mavis. She's only 13 and so many things happen to her in a very short span of time. I would have liked some more character development from the supporting characters to better understand their backgrounds and perhaps why they did the things they did.

Special thanks to the author, NetGalley and Kensington Books for an ALC of this book in exchange my honest review.

~ straight to the point. Why is it for? Where does the other star go?
I'lol tell you why.
It was an amazing plot and twisty story at the end. Well written apart from one thing. Uses of words ' said.says.' For porobably a hundred times . For a few chapters I'm in all I can read is 'said. She says. He says'
I'm quite put off abit until I carried on through the middle of the writing . Even since then it lessen the word 'said'.

.
Apart from that everything was perfect.
Well done to the writer oh and amazing narrator👍👍👍👍👍

I really enjoyed this book! It hooked me right from the start. I binge listened until my ears rejected my ear buds. Natalie and Glenn’s father was found murdered when they were kids. 20 years later there’s another murder in the sisters lives and they start to feel connected. There are two timelines. One is in present day and ones in the past (1995). I found myself more interested in going back to the past. So many secrets. It truly kept me guessing until the very end. There were quite a few good twists that I didn’t see coming! It was difficult to keep all of the characters straight at times. No fault of the narrators but simply because there were a lot of characters towards the end. The narrator was wonderful. I liked when she would switch into her Boston accent. This was my first book by this author, I’d definitely read more from him! Thank you RB Media and NetGalley for this advanced listening copy.

This was a good crime thriller but to me it didn’t really hold my interest. I found that the interconnections between characters and some of the twists were too far-fetched. The author’s writing style was great and easy to follow. Listening to this as an audio book, however, I found it hard to keep up with some of the characters and remembering who they were and how they were connected. This is a book that I would recommend actually reading instead of listening too, just because I feel like it was a little too complex for me, as a visual learner, to follow some of the details. I’m rating it with 3.5 stars, that round up to 4!

Thank you to NetGalley, RB Media, and Edwin Hill for this gifted copy that was provided to me in exchange for my honest review.

What a gripping, page turning novel. Will have you up till the wee hours of the morning trying to solve the mystery. So many twists and turns! Two sisters lives are turned upside down with the murder of their father and a month later the neighbor. Fast forward 20 years later another murder touches their lives when Glenn’s daughter finds a body in a abandoned building. Her aunt Natalie is a Boston cop, who is taken off the case but that doesn’t stop her from looking for answers. And then Glenn’s husband is shot and killed with Glenn standing by the body with a gun in her hand. Somehow there are clues that seems to point to the past and their father’s murder. There were always doubts who really murdered their father and what are the secrets that connect the past to the present day murders?
I also listened to the audiobook, but preferred the book. Was easier to keep all the characters straight in my opinion.
Thank you NetGalley for this ARC audiobook and Between the Chapters for the giveaway book. I am voluntarily posting an honest review after reading an Advance Reader Copy of this story. #NetGalley #TheSecretsweShare #EdwinHill

A fast paced thriller with lots of twists and turns. Had a lot of desperate housewives vibes with the suburban town and characters. It is a little hard to keep up with all the characters at first, but if you pay attention you soon come to see who each character is, as they are well crafted and have interesting backstories.

It’s the first one of Edwin Hill’s books I’ve ever read and I will be keeping my eye out for more. Probably one of the best crime thrillers I’ve read in a while, (I did guess a few of the twists though).

4/5 stars

Edwin Hill has written a fantastic thriller with The Secrets We Share! Hannah Cabell does a fantastic job narrating the audiobook, too!

The story jumps between two timelines, but it is easy to follow. Natalie and Glenn are sisters whose father was murdered when they were younger. Now, Glenn’s daughter finds a dead body and Natalie is one of the responding officers.

As the story develops and another body is discovered, the mysteries just keep multiplying! This is one that definitely surprised me when the truth came to light. I loved all of the characters as they were all well-developed. I did find out that a character who played a small part has her own series, too, so I am excited to go back and read about Hester! Grab your copy of this twisty one now!

Firstly, I am thankful for the opportunity to have received a free advanced copy of this audiobook through Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.

Not really sure how I feel about this one. It didn’t pull me in and keep me interested like I would have liked. I found myself zoning out a bit, not really interested in the story or what would happen next.

I considered not finishing it quite a few times, but then I always wonder whether something exciting might happen that I will miss out on, so I persevered, but can’t really say that I enjoyed it.

Sorry!

I rate this Ebook 3 stars.

The Secrets We Share was one of the most well-crafted, twistiest thrillers I’ve read in awhile. The twists and turns are full throttle through much of the book, and I was surprised to find that I enjoyed each and every one! Occasionally when there are this many turns in a thriller, I tend to roll my eyes and think, “Coome oooon!”, but that never happened here.

Sisters Natalie and Glenn are total opposites. Natalie’s a no-nonsense Boston cop, and Glenn a popular food blogger and married mom to a teen. However, the two share a dark past that’s threatening to repeat itself, and rip apart the lives they've carefully curated for themselves over the past two decades. Their dad was killed twenty years ago. Now, someone else close to them turns up dead and the sisters are questioning not only their present, but also their shared past.

It was hard to trust anyone in this propulsive story, so buckle up for a wild ride! It’s excellent on audio, and narrator Hannah Cabell kept up with the action and plot pivots effortlessly. The audio is just shy of nine hours, and I listened to an ALC via Recorded Books in the NetGalley Shelf app.

I listened to this book in one day. It grabbed my attention from the beginning and was fast paced.
The Secrets We Share has a great storyline and was filled with twists and turns that kept me guessing. Every time that I thought I had figured out a twist, something else would happen to change my mind.
This book did switch between several different view points, which I found a little challenging to keep up with in the beginning. However, once I got to know the characters this was no longer an issue.
This was my first book by Edwin Hill and I'm now excited to look up his back list.
I would suggest this book to anyone who enjoys a fast pace mystery that keeps you guessing.

Glenn and Natalie, on the surface two sisters who seem as different as chalk and cheese. Glenn is a media darling/cookbook author and Natalie a no nonsense Boston police detective. But the sisters share a dark past; no one really knows the story of their father’s body being found in the forest behind their house when the girls were young; supposedly killed by the neighbor he was having an affair with. Now, Glenn tells her sister that she’s getting online threats and innuendos about that long ago day. And when a body is found in an abandoned building, Natalie wonders if the assumptions made about her father’s death were wrong….dead wrong. Suspenseful storytelling with strong, well developed protagonists

Really good read. The characters were well drawn, plot was interesting and the writing was vivid. I really enjoyed this book.

Natalie and Glenn are sisters whose father was murdered 20 years ago. There were several suspects, but no one was ever arrested for the crime. Natalie is an unmarried cop, while Glenn is an ambitious internet celebrity who is unhappily married and has a young daughter. When Natalie and her partner are called to a murder scene, Natalie realizes that this crime is a little too close to home.

This was a very readable thriller/police procedural. There are a lot of twists, and also a lot of red herrings. As the body count increases, nearly every character in the book is either a murder victim, a murderer or a suspect in a murder. Hannah Cabell did a good job narrating the audiobook.

I received a free copy of this audiobook from the publisher.

Name of Book: The Secrets We Share
Author: Edwin Hill
Genre: Psychological Thriller
Publisher: RB Media
Pub Date: March 29, 2022
My Rating: 4+ Stars! Rounded Up

The promo states ~ Two sisters, one long-ago murder, and the web of terrifying secrets collide in a gripping thriller”.
Hmmm (Sounds like every mystery thriller I have read; plus the book cover is of a house with a light on
in one window ~ both had me laughing. Book covers with a house and a light in one window are a rage
right now!)
Have to admit I wasn’t expecting much but I love thrillers so was curious.
Good thing as this was a WOW read for me!!
My first author, Edwin Hill and oh yes! I will read another! I am especially interested in reading "Little Comfort" Book #1 in the Hester Thursby series~ her appearance in this story was enjoyable!!

When Glenn and Natalie Cavanaugh were teenagers their father’s body was found in the woods near their home. Wife Ruth Cavanaugh was the prime suspect. Rumor has it that Alan Cavanaugh was having an affair and wife Ruth is a person of interest. (Soon a rumor circulates that Alan’s murder was a lover’s rage thus a murder/suicide.)
Now twenty years later Natalie is an Investigative detective and Glenn is an author and food blogger. Glenn is married to Jack Abbott. Her twelve year-old daughter Mavis finds a body in an abandoned building and the body just happens to be someone Jake knows!
Hmm!!! Consequence or Deception????

“The Secrets We Share” is not only a great read but a great title ~Secrets plus Twists/Turns.
I go into thrillers suspecting everyone ~so am bound it get the mysterious whodunit ~ right? Yikes missed this!

Want to thank NetGalley and RB Media for this audio eGalley. This file has been made available to me before publication in an early form for an honest professional review. Publishing Release Date scheduled for March 29, 2022.

I enjoyed this wild ride and all it's twists and turns! It's definitely an intriguing storyline that weaves together a lot of different threads. Some of the things could be guessed, but others were completely surprising.

The thing that I found slightly confusing at times as that we had multiple POVs and I'm terrible at remembering names, so had to really think through who each person was when the POV switched. I think maybe it's because I'm more used to reading romance, but it's much easier to follow multiple POVs when there are different narrators in audio, because you can't just flick back a few pages to see who you're with at any point.

My only other minor criticism is that Mavis read a lot older than I think she was supposed to be, especially towards the end. Being in her head, I expected to get full on child like thoughts, but she was very adult in the way she dealt with situations.

However all in all I had a great time with this page turner and would recommend it to people who enjoy a twisty fun romp!

This book hooked me from the start. It was full of action and gripping the whole time.

I loved the twists and i didn't suspect the culprit until the reveal.

It was an easy read and great for those who love crime thrillers!

"A mesmerizing, twisty suspense novel perfect for fans of Mary Kubica and Riley Sager from an acclaimed author! Explore the deep bonds—and deadly secrets—between two very different sisters haunted by the crimes of their father murdered nearly twenty years earlier…"

I loved this listen and thoroughly enjoyed the whole thing.

Thank you so much to Netgalley & Edwin Hill for this ARC / ALC.
