A suspenseful thriller that involves a successful doctor and nurse? Sign me up! This book had so many twists and turns I got dizzy. But loved trying to guess who was behind what in the next chapter.

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC.

I loved this twisted psychological thriller! While I was able to guess the culprit fairly early on, the reason behind it was definitely a surprise. There were plenty of twists and turns through the whole story, and that definitely made up for being able to predict the person responsible. This was very well written and kept me engaged until the very last page. A solid 4.5 stars rounding up to 5!

A great big thank you to NetGalley, Bookouture, and Jessica Payne for providing me with this gifted copy in exchange for my honest review.

Make me Disappear is one of these fast reading psychological thrillers - if that's your thing, you will enjoy this! It's written well and the characters are relatable. Noelle, a nurse who has fled an abusive relationship, is dating Daniel, who is a doctor and seems perfect at first. The book switches back and forth between past and present, and between Noelle and Daniel's point of view, so you know right from the start that Daniel is abusive in some way and that Noelle is trying to escape him.

I won't give anything away, but I saw the twist coming way in advance, but it didn't ruin the book for me. I still wanted to see how it played out. The ending was a little anticlimactic. But I would recommend this, because it was a fun read.

This book was fantastic! From the very first page it sucked me in and I was flying through the pages until the end. I even devoured the authors letter to readers at the end which I never usually read! I looked up the author to get more of her books and saw that this is her debut which is so impressive. What a brilliantly written, captivating, suspenseful story. I absolutely loved everything about it and will be eagerly awaiting whatever she has in the works next!

Thanks to NetGalley & Bookouture for the e-arc.
What a wild ride! Hard to believe this is a debut novel. I couldn't read this fast enough. Jessica Payne keeps you on the edge of your seat in this fast-paced thriller. Be prepared to read in one sitting - you won't want to put this down. Even if you figure it out before the ending, you'll want to get to the end as fast as possible to see if you're right. Can easily see this as a movie. Looking forward to more from this author.

There is no such thing as a perfect man. On the outside, Dr. Daniel Ashcroft seems perfect. Successful, well liked, gorgeous, romantic, rich....but underneath it all, he is possessive and controlling of his girlfriend Noelle. Noelle met Daniel at the hospital where they both worked. She, as a nurse. After a whirlwind romance, Noelle discovers Daniel is watching her every move. She finds he has hidden cameras in her home and he controls her whereabouts at all times. She suspects he had something to do with the death of her aunt and learned his last girlfriend disappeared and was never found. He is dangerous and she needs to find a way to leave without him ever finding her again. She hires someone to "kidnap" her and plans to start a new life. Only things don't go as planned...

I LOVE short chapters in books because they make it seem more fast paced to me. This book definitely had the short chapters covered. I thought the character development of Daniel and Noelle was good but kind of wished a few other players in the book had a bit more background on them.

I caught on very early what was happening and my theory never changed or waived. I was extremely confident I knew...and I was right, There was no real big twist for me. Overall, still a good read. Easy to follow all the characters and storyline.

3.5 stars...rounding up to 4 stars for Goodreads rating. Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for this digital advanced read copy in exchange for my honest review.

There are rules to survival:
Always agree with him.
Never stop smiling.
Don’t mention anyone you care about—anyone—because they might become his next victim.

At first Dr Daniel Ashcroft appeared to be the perfect boyfriend, he was handsome, charming and couldn't do enough for Noelle. They both work at the same hospital, he is an anesthesiologist and she's a nurse, but they met when he saved her life after she was hit by a car. When she started to hear rumours about his previous girlfriend going missing and then finds cameras in her own apartment, she believes Daniel isn't as squeaky clean as he appears to be and he's becoming more controlling every day, she realises he's never going to let her go, so arranges her own kidnapping, but not even Noelle is prepared for the events that follow...

Make me Disappear is told in dual narrative by Noelle and Daniel, it's a fast paced read with short chapters and, even though parts of it beggar belief, that somehow made me more intrigued as to what the outcome would be. I took an instant dislike to Daniel, but could see why he was like that as soon as the author introduced his mother, so I also felt a little sorry for him by the end of the story. I loved the cat and mouse game that ensued between Noelle and Daniel and the twists that the author threw into the mix to keep the reader hooked. The story is very well written and hard to believe that this is the authors debut novel, I think Jessica Payne is definitely one to watch out for in the future.

I'd like to thank Bookouture and Netgalley for the auto approval, I will post my review on Goodreads now and Amazon on publication day.

I received a copy of this book for free, and I leave my review voluntarily.

Jessica Payne grew up in Kansas City, later moving to the Pacific Northwest, where the mountains and Puget Sound became home. Beyond writing, she loves to run, rock climb, and explore the great outdoors with her daughter and husband. She is an RN and recently finished her degree as a nurse practitioner. When holding still, which isn’t often, you’ll find a book in her hand and a cat or dog (or both!) in her lap. Jessica writes suspense and thriller and is the host of #MomsWritersClub on Twitter and YouTube.

“And I won’t stop until I find you.”

Noelle is a nurse dating a doctor, and she thought she was about to have it all. Until things started feeling off. Daniel was possessive. He was manipulative. And he was weirdly attached to his mother. When Noelle discovers that Daniel’s ex-girlfriend has disappeared, suddenly she realizes she is in a fight for her life.

What in the Joe Goldberg did I just read? For a debut novel, this was brilliantly played. The twists and turns, the characters, and the plot were fantastic.

I loved Noelle as a lead. She was intelligent, strong, and resourceful. She wasn’t afraid to fight for herself, even if that meant leaving her family behind to protect them.

Daniel was a complicated character, and we spent so much time inside his head. It’s disturbing. He was a terrifying character. A true narcissist. His behavior was so well played, and he was the perfect man to love to hate.

I enjoyed this novel. I couldn’t put it down! I read almost half of it in a single sitting. The plot grabs you, and suddenly you’re in fight or flight mode.

It is a story about survival, strength, and trusting your gut. The twists were so well played. I didn’t see them coming until they whipped me around.

If this is the beginning of Jessica Payne’s writing career, it is safe to say we will hear a lot more from her. She can write a twisted tale like a pro.

Thank you to Negalley and Bookouture for the ARC to read.
I really enjoyed this book because even though I was 99.9 percent sure I knew what was going on there was that .1 that kept throwing me off because it fit with the story so perfectly. I liked that the author was able to throw me off like that

Noelle is thrilled to have snagged such a catch. Daniel is perfect - a doctor, handsome and protective. But when she discovers he has installed cameras at her place, then finds out about the disappearance of his previous girlfriend, Noelle begins worrying about her future. In an effort to get away, she makes plans to disappear. But of course, it was never going to be that easy....

This book was amazing! I was on the edge of my seat throughout the whole story and the short chapters and multiple POV's kept me from putting the book down. It's hard to believe this was a debut novel. I'm excited to see what Jessica Payne comes out with next!

4 thrilling debut ⭐

From one abusive relationship to the next.
Noelle Thomas escapes her abusive relationship with Michael and moves away to start over in Seattle.
She is a nurse at Seattle General where she meets her current boyfriend, Dr. Daniel Ashcroft.
Daniel seems perfect ~ a well loved anesthesiologist, handsome and protective. Soon she starts to see a different side to Daniel and Noelle comes up with quite the clever way to get away from Daniel. I can't believe that's a real thing either!

Back and forth between Noelle and Daniel's perspective ~ their story begins in the now and then flawlessly goes 14 months earlier moving its way to the present. Most of Daniel's parts are written as if he's directly speaking to Noelle, which I thought was a great way to really show how controlling he is.

Although I did have most of the twists figured out, there were still a couple zingers in there. That's the price I pay for having read 100's and 100's of thrillers. I didn't find it to be really fast paced, but sometimes I was on the edge of my seat.

If I have to nitpick about something I felt like Puget Sound was brought up way too many times. Also, (view spoiler)

I loved Jack and I wish there was more of him! I never really cared for Kari.

Overall, I was impressed with this well executed debut novel. Everything wrapped up just as it should.
I really liked reading the letter from Jessica at the end. She seems really excited to finally reach her dream of becoming a published author. I look forward to see what other twisty thrillers Jessica writes.

This was a solid debut thriller from Jessica Payne. It definitely reminded me of "Gone Girl" and the TV show/book series "You." It turns out my suspicions as to where the story was going were true; however, there were other twists that I hadn't really figure out. I did find that there was a bit of a lull in the middle, where I felt like the plot was caught in a bit of a loop, but overall I really enjoyed this one!

Thank you to Netgalley and Bookouture for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

My first thoughts while reading this book were that it was very similar to "You." It was told from different perspectives which I did enjoy. About halfway through though, it started to jump the shark. By this point, I was sucked in and wanted to see how it ended so I kept going. I can honestly say that if you go in knowing that some reality will have to be suspended, it is really good! It's a fast read with lots of misdirection and great for an afternoon outside.

This debut book is absolutely fantastic. The psychological warfare between the intertwining POVs is brilliantly written and kept me on the edge of my seat for the entire twisty ride with turns going in directions I never suspected. What a brilliantly written thriller with the handsome aristocratic-ish boyfriend who uses his sociopathic and narcissistic ability to psychologically cage his girlfriend. This book was a quick read because I literally did not want to put it down.

What a fantastic debut! This book had me hooked from page one. I'm always drawn to stories about people attempting to escape from unimaginable domestic abuse situations. I find them so endearing, powerful, and emotional. This story was no different. I found the main character, Noelle, so brave (especially when she was also not just trying to keep herself safe and alive, but her family members as well). I found the story to have great momentum and the ending was satisfying for me. SO MANY TWISTS AND TURNS! Thank you NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

So I typically start my reviews with a brief summary of the book. But I don’t want to do that with this one. BECAUSE IT IS THAT GOOD that you need to go in blind. And be ready for a total roller coaster. I cannot believe this is Jessica Payne’s debut novel. It is INCREDIBLE. She writes like a seasoned vet. Every time you think up is up, it ends up being down, sideways and across all at once. Don’t just expect one twist, expect many. Trust no one, not even your gut. And enjoy the ride.

I never wanted to put this book down but apparently humans need sleep and food to survive. If you love a good, twisty, keep you on your toes thriller, please do yourself the favor of picking up this book when it drops on May 16!

And I cannot wait to read more from Jessica Payne!

Thank you to @netgalley for the opportunity to read this before it is published!
