This is already the fifth book in the series, and unfortunately I haven't read the previous books in the series. The book however reads nicely alone as a standalone, but I will read the previous ones for better reference. You get drawn into the book, and become part of the story quickly. Very well written, recommended.
I was given this arc for an honest review.
The story picks up with Tom having left Alaska and is now in Washington. Stopping for gas he sees a girl being manhandled towards the bathroom of the gas station. Asking what the problem is and being told to mind his business, he of course does not. After defeating those men he tries to get information out of the girl.
Taylor wants to tell Tom what is going on but it only comes out slowly and not before he is stopped by a deputy. After that he works on freeing her again and once he finds out what she wants which is to get to Oregon to be with her brother and his wife. This might not be as easy as it seems. Tom has to use every skill and them some throughout this book. The story is fast-paced and will keep you going from the opening pages to the end which I must say even that surprised me as well. A very good story and one of the better books in the series. Very much worth the read.
A young girl being hunted. Only one man can save her.
Tom Rollins is heading south through rural Washington when he sees a teenage girl being manhandled at a gas station. Tom intercedes and the girl escapes. Only to turn up as a stowaway in the back of Tom’s pickup truck.
Her name is Taylor Hendricks and she’s on the run from a group of shady and powerful men who will stop at nothing to get her back. Taylor knows that if she can make it to Oregon, she’ll be safe. Tom promises to get her there.
But the odds aren’t good. With ruthless enemies hot on their heels, and others waiting up ahead, the road to Oregon becomes a highway to hell and Tom will need every one of his lethal skills if he and Taylor are to make it through alive.
The characters are skillfully drawn and remain quite memorable long after the unexpected conclusion.
A young girl is being hunted and only one man can save her. Tom is headed to Washington when he notices a girl being mishandled at a gas station, and the girl gets away and ends up in the back of Tom's truck as a stowaway.

Great book. This book 5 out of the series, I had not read all the other in series, would love to go back and read them.

A Tom Rollins Thriller Book 5.

A very good read with good characters . I liked the story. Didn't realise it was a series. 4*.
Absolutely loved it! Could it put this down and have been recommending to everyone! Cannot wait to find more by this author. Highly recommend.
An excellent thriller as we have come to expect from this writer.
Unusual setting but highly possible made for a tense and well paced plot.
Loved this book. Well written, interesting characters and good storyline.
First ‘Tom Rollins’ book I’ve read and will definitely read the others now.
Highly recommended 4.5 Stars ⭐️
Thanks to Netgalley for allowing me to read this book in return for a fair review.
This story is well written, easy to read and has a very good pace. However, the main character is still making a lot of stupid mistakes. It's disappointing that the author (and thus the main character) hasn't bothered getting some knowledge about things like tactical driving, evasion or electronics.
3 and 1 / 2 stars
While completely predictable, this book is still a fun and exciting read. I am a little bothered how this one man wrecking crew can take on eight guys at once, but there you go.
Tom Rollins has left Alaska and is meandering his way through Washington State when he happens upon some men being abusive to a young girl. There are four of them. One claims to be the step-father of the girl. Tom cleans their clocks and goes to leave, but can't find the girl. He later finds her hiding under some debris in the back of his pickup.
She talks little beyond saying she is fourteen and the men have treated her badly. As time goes by, she lets on about her being sexually abused and beaten.
Tom trades his pickup in for a car but they are still set upon by more men in two cars. This continues for some time. Tom and the girl are fleeing and then being confronted by bullies. The girl’s brother and his wife become embroiled in the drama.
Tom and the young girl meet Danny, a determined and brave woman.
Corrupt cops, dastardly politicians and others all conspire to get the girl back. The reason is mindblowing.
The book is well written and plotted. The reader just has to suspend belief in a few spots.
The denouement is exciting - well, the whole book is action after action. A good read that I recommend to adrenaline junkies of all stripes.
I want to thank NetGalley and Inkubator Books for forwarding to me a copy of this fun book for me to read, enjoy and review. The opinions expressed here are solely my own.
Tom Rollins is on the move again, this time through the state of Washington. Behind him in Alaska he has left a cabin he blowed to pieces and the woman that owned it. In Road Kill by Paul Heatley he stops for gas only to see a young girl being manhandled by some rough characters, of course he has to interfere. That lead to a wild hunt and an actionfilled story about children abuse in a sect like church. Is Rollins in over his head this time? Will he save the girl and get her to her brother? Well, the book is out in stores April third and then you should get it and find out. Paul Heatley has written another great fast paced action thriller and I highly recommend that you try his work. I must thank @netgalley and @inkubatobooks for letting me read this advance copy of #RoadKill and #PaulHeatley for coming up with these stories.
Tom meets Taylor on the road, and intervenes when she is being manhandled by a group of men, then he finds her in the back of his vehicle. She is a young teenager being pursued by a group of powerful men. This is the most gripping novel I have read so far by Paul Heatley, and well worth reading, it had me hooked until I read it in one sitting. I especially liked the references to Kerouac, who wrote 'On the Road'. This is a highly recommended novel. Thank you to netgalley and the publishers for giving me a copy of the book, in my opinion this author gets better and better.
