After witnessing her brother brutally murder multiple men, Elena flees her from her brother and the lifestyle she was accustom to. As she’s in police protective custody events happen causing her to flee. This is where the story really begins.
I did enjoy this book but I didn’t connect with it as much as I’d hoped to. It’s a quick read and does keep you turning the pages, but for me personally I felt as though something was missing.
I will definitely read Mary Burton again though as I do really enjoy this genre of books.
Finding You is a wonderful fast afternoon read. This book has great characters, suspense, and romance. Elena was a witness to her brother killing "the churchmen." Fearing she would never be free from her brother, she escapes and runs to the police where she then goes to a safe house until she can testify against him. With a $5 million dollar reward for her safe return Elena safety is in question when a corrupt agent alerts her brother for the money. Converging on the safe house the men pretending to be FBI kill the two who were protecting her. Thanks to Helen, Elena escapes and goes on the run hoping to evade her brother. Elena now Kristen has arrived in Virginia and gets a job as a receptionist at a yoga studio. But her past is about to catch up with her. Dane is ex FBI out to avenge his sister's death. He sees Elena as a means to and end but after meeting Kristen makes him reconsider using her as bait.
I am a big fan of Mary Burton. Each of her books are well worth reading. They pull you in right from the beginning.
I received this book as an ARC from Netgalley and was intrigued to read some of Mary Burtons earlier work. This book definitely focussed more on the romance than the suspense but I really enjoyed the characters, it was more of a quick read than I was expecting but I still enjoyed it.
A good plot with likeable characters and a super start. There has to be a ‘but’ though and I thought there were too many lucky chance happenings. The romance was not what I expected and maybe just made too much romance and not enough mystery.
This is my review for a book provided by NetGalley.
It is my first Mary Burton and I found it an easy and fast read. I would classify it as mostly romance with an element of catching a hard criminal, not really suspense romance or romance thriller because it is a very straightforward adventure, without a twist or major revelation.
Elena is on the run from her brother, a very bad criminal, a killer, and is used as bait to catch him by two men, both intent on revenge. Her brother had killed someone in both their families. One is a man she fell in love with and she is devasted by his betrayal.
Having read Mary Burton's later books, there is a definite improvement. This book had a good plot concept, but it wasn't executed well. The romance was very insta lust, there was no development and it felt rushed. The plot was similar. Everything seemed under developed and the dialogue was stilted. I highly recommend her later books as they are a lot better and this one probably needed a bit more experience to make it better.
Elena Benito has been on the run for 9 months, hiding from her brother, who is a criminal and killer with extensive money and resources. She has changed her appearances and her name (to Kristen Rodale), and is now living in Virginia. Relatives of two of her brother's victims have teamed up to find her, planning to use her as bait to draw her brother out and exact their revenge. This is a fast-paced romantic thriller, a quick and enjoyable read.
A Thrilling five-star read. This is fast paced and thrilling and everything you expect from this great author. Kristen has faced so many challenges and her story will keep you hooked, Dane added something to it, but it was a little lacking at times, that being said it kept me hooked from start to finish.
As stated in previous book’s feedback this was another “new” Mary Burton. However, it was just a rebrand of an early 2000s mass market Silhouette book. It was a totally fine read but read more as a novella than a novel and didn’t have the same punch as her more recent works. Would recommend to new fans more than current ones as it’s a good intro to Ms Burton but lacks her more recent thrillers.
Find You is an action packed fast paced story which i really enjoyed to begin with.
This author is one i am particularly drawn to but sadly i felt after the initial great start the rest of the story was rushed through and sadly just didn't do it for me.
My thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for allowing me to read and give an honest opinion.
'Find you 'is an intense and well-paced romantic suspense that keeps the reader engaged, waiting for Elena/Kristen's past to catch up with her. The opening scene is atmospheric and action-packed and immerses the reader in the main protagonist's life. Trying to start a new life brings Elena, now Kristen, to a new small town with friendly people who seem willing to help a stranger. Dane is ex FBI out to avenge his sister's death. He sees Elena as collateral damage in achieving his goal but meeting Kristen makes him reconsider.
The romance between Dane and Kristen is conflicted and gentle and is a counterpoint to the suspense and danger surrounding them. The tension intensifies as the story progresses, and the ending, whilst not unexpected, is impactful and romantic.
I like the believable characters and setting, the suspenseful plot and the gentle romance of this story,
I received a copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley.
A fast-paced and addictive romantic thriller. The opening scene is tense and exciting. Kristen is under police protection pending her brother's trial where she is to give evidence against him. There is an inevitable sense of doom about this scene as the reader is expecting the worst to happen and that Kristen is not going to make it to the courthouse.
Kristen inevitable end up on the run and undergoes tough times in order to survive and stay undetected by the police and her brother. I really enjoyed the suspense element of the story and the tension built up very well. I was expecting a big showdown with Benito at the end but it fizzled out very quickly and some of it was off scene.
The romance was nice but a little bit rushed. I didn't really feel the connection between Dane and Kirsten. Nevertheless, they made a sweet couple and the story concluded nicely for them.
My favourite character in the book was Kristen's friend, Sheridan. There is more to her than meets the eye and I'm intrigued by what her back story could be. It's one I'd like to read.
After witnessing her brother kill some people Kristen goes to the police, but her brother’s money mean she isn’t safe, even with them. She goes on the run and has been doing ok by herself for the last 9 months. She has moved from town to town, never staying long, never making any connections. That is until the last town where her new boss becomes a friend and helps her. She meets Dane while working and they immediately hit it off, but she is still reluctant to let anyone in. He doesn’t give much away either, but he has his own secrets. His sister was killed while protecting Kristen and he originally is looking for use Kristen as bait to trap her brother. The more time they spend together the closer they become, the more conflicted Dane becomes. When everything comes to a head Kristen is heartbroken by Dane’s deceit and isn’t sure if she can forgive him. I liked Kirsten’s strength and willingness to help others, even after all she had been through and I understood Dane’s grief and anger at the loss of his sister. This felt like quite a short, quick story and it would have a liked a little more depth to they story, but like this author and this type of book so did enjoy this story.
Good book! This book had suspense, intrigue, plenty of action, mobsters, mayhem, murder and mystery! The storyline kept me glued to my kindle the whole book! I definitely will recommend reading this book! It was well worth reading! Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for sharing this book with me!
It's been a while since I have read a book by this author and boy she has still got it. Packed to the rafters with tension and suspense and so many heart stopping moments. Gripping and so intense. Another fantastic five star read from this author.
Many thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC in return for giving an honest review.
Fast paced, twisty and unpredictable. I couldn't put this book down I devoured it in one sitting and it kept me guessing right until the end. I cannot wait to read more books by this author as I have loved everyone I have read so far.

when you witness your brother commit murder kristen does the only thing she can to get away from him...she goes forward to give evidence, but with a bounty on her head of 5 million and one of her guards taking up the offer she has no option but to run as everyone else around is killed
but life on the run is hard and finding a kindly soul who takes her in and gives her a job gives kristen hope
but betrayal isnt far behind and neither is her brother...
a fast read and one you can read inbetween the heavier books
Reading the synopsis of this book, you would expect a fast paced story, and that is exactly what you get. Even though this book isn't that many pages, it still is full of details and character building! I really enjoyed this, as I've read shorter books before and so many details and character building are left out. So I'm extremely happy that was not the case here. I definitely had a hard time putting this book down as I needed to know what was going to happen next. So a true page turner in my standards. I would definitely recommend this book to people who enjoy fast paced thrillers with a mix of romance. Thanks so much to HarperCollins and NetGalley for this advanced copy, for my honest review.
I love Mary Burton’s books. Sadly this one didn’t quite meet my expectations. The storyline felt rushed. I liked Kristen but I didn’t really connect to Dane’s character. I still look forward to her next book. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced free copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I received a copy from the publisher through NetGalley.
