I love historical fiction and this was no exception. It was thoughtful and well written. It was also timed well with Hamilton the Musical

I loved that this book was based on a real boy and a story that actually happened, and looked forward to reading it with my grandson. Unfortunately, the book didn't format right on my Kindle, which I've read has been a problem for others, as well. There seemed to be whole paragraphs missing, and since this was such a short book to begin with, this made it very difficult to read. I'm giving it 3 stars, though, because the parts that I was able to piece together were interesting and showed promise.

I received a copy of this book free of charge in exchange for my honest opinion,.

I can't wait to read this book to my fourth graders. We have been talking about how anyone can make a difference, no matter how old they are. I love that this is a true story about how Ariel Bradley was able to help General George Washington by doing something most others could not. It took a boy to go into camps and take intel of how many soldiers, supplies, and other necessities those against the Revolutionaries had.
It showed how a boy could overcome his fear and be a true hero because, although afraid, he was able to complete his assignment. I give this book five stars.

I do not believe I received the entire book, as I was very confused when reading some of the pages. It seemed like there were parts of conversations missing that would help the flow of action and characters. I really was interested in reading this title, so am a little disappointed. Any time a child can read about another child accomplishing great feats is very powerful. I hope to be able to find a complete copy of the book so I can leave an accurate review of this book, and be able to determine whether this would be a good fit for my 3rd grade curriculum for the year.

This book wasn't what I thought it was going to be. I was hoping the book would work well in early elementary but after getting a e-copy I realized that unfortunately it would not. The idea of the book sounds appealing, this book just didn't work for what I wanted it to..

Based on a true event, this book contains an educational story of an incredibly brave young boy that helped change the history of America. I loved reading about Ariel Bradley and his family, and their dedication to General Washington and the effort to gain freedom for Americans. The written text in this book is easy to understand and the illustrations are friendly and bring life to this story for young readers. This is an excellent book for 1st through 5th graders.

Ariel Bradley had two brothers fighting in the conflict known as the American Revolution. When General Washington needed help, he used young Ariel, only 9 years old to discover more information about the troops that were under the British. He needed information, and the young boy was the perfect one to go in, due to his age and innocence.

Oh my, what a story! I LOVED THIS BOOK! As I was reading through the information at the back of the book, they tell the story of Ariel when he grew up, and also what the profits for the book will be used for. As a veteran, I was pleased to see that they are donating to the Fisher House, which is a place for families of wounded servicemembers to stay while their loved ones are being cared for in the VA hospitals. This book is definitely on my list of ones to recommend!
If your kids love history, as mine do, then they will enjoy this sweet little book about a brave little boy and his service to General Washington.

This short illustrated book presents the story of courageous Ariel Bradley. He helps General Washington to get information from the enemies in order to defeat them
The book is very nice illustrated and well documented. I love the fact that it has a short dictionary at the end.
The chapters are short, so it can be a pleasant read for very young readers.
I would recommend it to my first and second graders.

A witty children's book about a historical event during Washington's campaign around New York City in the autumn of 1776. Clever and imaginative drawings make it a delightful read.

Ariel Bradley, Spy for General Washington was a quick read. Just the right length to enjoy while you eat a slice of cobbler! Kids can learn about the young boy who helped General Washington. This is a cool story to help aid their understanding of the Revolutionary War. The danger didn't feel as real as I think it could for a kid's book but it gave a deeper knowledge of what the soldiers might have worn, the different colors of the soldier's uniforms and the odds General Washington's army was against. All in all, an intriguing snippet about a boy during Revolutionary way times.

This is a nice introduction to George Washington's spy ring based on a nine-year-old spy. The illustrations are charming and my second grade student loved the story. I would have liked to see a few more historical facts woven in, but it is an interesting story and a good example of narrative nonfiction.

This is a true story based on the story of Ariel Bradley. Ariel was nine years old and his brothers who were fighting in the war asked him on behalf of General Washington to act the country bumpkin. This was to get information from the British on soldiers, food, and horses. Ariel and his old horse Salt who proved just as brave, played the part perfectly. Ariel reported his findings to General Washington and it helped to win the war. I found this a great book with interesting facts. I did not know some of the details in the story. The illustrations are done very well and compliments the book. I liked the fact the author included a glossery in the back as well as what happened to Ariel afterwards. I recommend this book for ages 7+.
