I received an advance copy of this book via NetGalley. I was looking for an escape story that was an easy read and this book fit the bill perfectly. A typical Nicholas Sparks book, the main characters are independently dealing with their own personal crises. Their paths cross and their connection grows. I enjoyed reading this book. It was a quick read and was a nice escape from reality.

Not a huge Nicholas Sparks fan. Wanted to read it with my mom, who is a big fan. Wasn’t disappointed with the read. Turned out to be better than expected! She loved it too!

This one was okay. I’m a huge fan of Nicholas Sparks so I still enjoyed his writing this one wasn’t my favorite, but still good!

What has happened to Nicholas Sparks?! Where did the beloved author of favorites like The Notebook and Dear John go? His books just keep disappointing me. I still after Two by Two but then I thought it’s been a minute since I’ve given him a try…but Dreamland ain’t it. This book wa so boring. So much unnecessary writing. I think it could have been cut in half if his editors had done their job. But they are doing him a disservice. Some examples of the lazy writing/lazy editing: One paragraph where he uses after and after that three times!! And again in a later chapter. Another time his lacking dialogue read: “Oh my gosh!” Her shock was evident.
Uhhhh it’s unnecessary to say that when she says “Oh my gosh!”
These are things you learn in creative writing 101. Jerry Jenkins has a free YouTube video in self-editing that would take care of this! I showed it to the creative writing class I taught!
How is he getting by with such lazy writing.
Also, things that are just wrong that editors should have caught. They put sunscreen on their backs but then put life jackets on (covering their backs). The woman walks in to an elementary school to bring her son lunch and the doors aren’t locked and she is able to just walk the halls without checking in as a visitor. Wouldn’t happen.
Anyway, it was hard to care about these characters. They were flat and didn’t seem to have personalities except what we were told about them.
The last 60 pages were the only part that was interesting. They made me go, “Oooooh.” But even then. I lost count how many times I rolled my eyes.

Nicholas Sparks is known for his book about love and heart ache. There is two things that you can expect when reading one of his novels, 1) you will probably cry and 2) you will fall in love with all of his characters and want more. We were all drawn to Nicholas Sparks with The Notebook or I was. I remember as a teenager going to the dollar theater in town and watching it probably 10+ times and crying each time I watched it. While that was the movie and not the book, the movie drew me to his books and I fell deeper in to the hole. With each book came a movie that you just had to watch. I loved the movie just as much as I loved the book.

Dreamland is a novel filled with dreamers. Told from two different viewpoints, Dreamland is one of Nicholas Sparks' novels you will want to read.

I love a good Nicholas Sparks story and this one was great weaving the two stories together. Nicholas Sparks does a great job of giving you just enough information and then hits you with a curve ball.

I love books by Nicholas Sparks. They never disappoint and are always tear jearkers. This book is the same. Although the book is told as if it is two separate books with two different storylines, at the end it was exciting to see how they both came together. This is a must read for fans of sparks!

I am a huge Nicholas Sparks fan from the first book I read "message in a bottle" many years ago. I loved his books and got my daughter hooked on the books and movies.and the North Carolina coast. I didn't cry at the end of this book like most of the others. It just didn't have tge same feel. I can honestly say I still liked it and I will still be a fan forever. Just hoping for more next time. Thank you for the opportunity to read this book. Thus is my honest opinion.

Nicholas Sparks has such a beautiful way of painting the lives of his characters. The humanity, love, and overall well written book.

A bit of a mixed bag. It felt very unoriginal with stereotypical and a forced ending. That being said, if you go into it expecting a Hallmark movie experience then you'll think it was very well done.

Posting review a bit late due to some personal circumstances, but absolutely thrilled to have been granted this ARC. This book did exactly what it needed to do and fits in soundly with the rest of the Nicholas Sparks cannon as far as emotional depth and a great plot. So easy to read and immerse yourself in!

I usually love, and I mean love, Nicholas Sparks. All of his older books were what made me fall in love with the genre. But this just wasn’t his old books. I didn’t cry, and that is what marks a good romance for me

Holy cow was I honored to receive an advance copy of a Nicholas Sparks book as I have been a HUGE fan for as long as I can remember. It took me a second to get into the choppier nature of the story telling in this book as it jumps between perspectives. I liked the book, though it is not my favorite from Sparks.
