I surprisingly enjoyed this book more than I expected to. It didn’t immediately catch my attention because I don’t care for books evolving music, but I liked the way this one started out. Unlike a lot of his books the MC, Colby, was realistic. He had long hair in high school, tattoos, and knew that school wasn’t for him. He has a complicated family life and put his family farm over his music- even though music is his calling. I loved that the author touches on issues regarding eating disorders, the pressure on woman to be thin rather than healthy, and how social media plays a role in that. There’s also scoliosis and bipolar representation. I really liked Morgan (diversity representation) and how she chose to follow her dream even when her parents planned for her. The only reason I never find myself truly loving his books is because of how fast his characters fall in love. I’m all for instant connect and attraction, but I like more slow burn, cautious love stories. I didn’t care for how much Colby thought about her eating habits. As for Beverly’s side of the story… I’m not sure how I feel about it. I feel like it didn’t flow well with Colby and Morgan’s story and didn’t really contribute to it. I found it very interesting to read but random. It was definitely a unique twist. Overall, it was a decent story. It isn’t one of my favorites of his, but the writing was great and I found the two storylines equally interesting.
Special thanks to @netgalley and @randomhouse for approving me to read this ARC in exchange for an honest review!

Dreamland by Nicholas Sparks (Out on September 20th 2022.)
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 stars
Thank you so much @netgalley and @randomhouse for giving me early access to this book in exchange for a review! Nicholas Sparks is one of my favorite authors ever and I am so grateful for this!
This book is absolutely incredible. When I finished this, I sat down and couldn’t talk or even think for a few minutes. @nicholassparks is on another level of writing heartbreakingly beautiful books. This one though, will be in my top five favorite books of all time. It’s amazing.
I could not put this down. It touches on hard topics while telling a love story for the ages. Please make sure you google the triggers for this book first as it’s hard to type them out here without massive spoilers.
I both cried and swooned while reading this book. Nicholas sparks is my favorite but also my arch nemesis because his books are so sad but so good. My literal Kryptonite lol.
So this is told in two POV’s and the way he ties them together in the end is something I never saw coming. I’m talking jaw on the floor and tears puddling in my pillow.
The first POV is a man named Colby Mills. He has musical aspirations but is grounded by a tragedy that now has him as head of the family farm. He takes a gig playing at a bar in St. Pete’s Florida for a week to escape his mundane farm life. While there, he meets Morgan Lee and his life is turned upside down. Over the course of a week, they fall madly in love. But hard choices are to be made when it’s over. They are both big dreamers.
The other POV is a woman named Beverly. She is on a different type of heart pounding journey. She is escaping an abusive marriage with her 6 year old son. She tries to make a life for them while hiding in a small town. With money running low she has to make a desperate decision.
Fate brings the two POV’s together in a crazy web and it’s the most heart wrenching thing ever. But so important and it’s so beautiful how it ends!
I can’t tell you enough how much I loved this book. RUN and pre-order this. It will stay with me forever.
An amazing book in true Nicholas Sparks fashion, but more of a surprising twist at the end. I could not put it down. Definitely my new favorite Sparks book!
was so excited when I won this ARC of Dreamland.
Dual points of view & two stories eventually join. Colby, once had dreams of making a living as a musician, but having to tend to the farm & feeling a responsibility to his family & the farm that dream seemed long gone for him. After getting a Gig at a bar in St Pete’s beach, Florida, he decides to try to embrace his time there. Then he stumbles upon, tik tok viral star & aspiring musician, Morgan. That is when Colby decides life has more meaning then working on the farm. The other point of view, Beverly, is a mom that is trying to escape an abusive relationship with her son, Tommie.
These dual point of views kept me interested. Just as I thought what the outcome of the book would be, that’s when everything changed. TW: this book does deal with abuse, mental health, & some substance abuse. Thank you to Random House & NetGalley for this ARC, in exchange for my honest review.
I got an advanced copy of this book through Netgalley. It's about two young singers that meet on vacation in Florida - and interwoven through it is the story of a young mother on the run with her son from her abusive husband. I had mixed feelings about this book. On the one hand, it was worth the read, it was somewhat of a page-turner (I read it fast and wanted to know what would happen), and I would recommend it. On the other hand, I wasn't 100% sold on the characters and found I had to skim a lot of the descriptions. I can see it being another good Nicholas Sparks Movie because it could boil down nicely into a couple of hours.
This book had a dual timeline that came together in the best way. Singer/songwriters, TikTok stars, farmers and love. What more could you ask for! A love story that kept me guessing until the very end!
Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for my ARC of this book.
Dreamland is classic Nicholas Sparks! An enchanting story that evokes emotion with realistic characters and a whole lot of heart involving abuse, family, and love. If you're looking for a thought-provoking Nicholas Sparks heartbreaker, this is the one for you!
As always Nicolas Sparks proves the spark to reading! I have been an avid fan of all his books, and this one is NO different. told from 2 different POV, you think you know what is happening all through the book... but let me tell you... you are wrong! Not quite sure how to review without spoiling the plot lines, but as always it was a great story to tell. The settings are all typical Sparks, and there is love, suspense and a little trickery happening!
What an awesome book! It has been a long time since I read a book by Nicholas Sparks. But I don’t think it will be a long time before I read another one. I literally could not put it down. I don’t want to give much of the story away. The characters are very realistic and the storyline is awesome. A man’s love for his family is strong and then he falls for his dream girl. I will recommend this book to anyone who will listen to me. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me to read an advance copy for my honest review. Great book.
Thanks to NetGalley for an advanced copy.
Nicholas Sparks has done it again. I really enjoy every one of his books.
I received a free Advanced Reading Copy via NetGalley in exchange for a complete and honest review.
One of the best books I've read in a long while.
I love Nicholas Sparks, his books are an instant buy and read for me, but this one just didn't sit well with me. I've read it twice now. I instantly fell in love with Colby Mills but aside from me I didn't love much else about the book. Morgan was just not likable at all. I also was not a fan of the two stories and didn't feel like they came together very well. I'm honestly at a loss for words when it comes to this book, because I really wanted to love it!
I haven’t read Nicholas Sparks in a while and was excited about this one. I loved getting involved in the two stories that end up intertwining at the end. I did feel like that the story started off slow and I wanted to get on with the story. The characters were enjoyable but not ones I felt like I could connect with.
Dreamland, the title really fits my perception of Colby's POV. This book has two POV's Beverly and Colby. Beverley is a mom running away with her son from an abusive husband who she indicates is very high up in government and can find her if she makes any mistake and reveals where she's fled. This POV was my favorite, I felt connected to Beverly and it felt very real. It was a let down that we didn't get her end to the book, most of the book focuses on Colby and I think ending with her would have made this book a 4 or 5 star depending on the story.
Colby is young guy who loves music and goes to Florida to work a gig, finds a girl and falls in love. Typical Spark's plot but not with the same heart as his other novels. Their relationship felt shallow and I really felt no connection to either of them. I wanted to love this book but felt that it didn't meet the expectations of it's title. I love Spark's work and look forward to reading his other stuff as always!
my review on::: dreamland by @nicholassparks 🌾🤍
4/5⭐️
would you believe me if i said that this was the first nicholas sparks novel i’ve read 🫣? i know shocking. when i got approved for this ARC i was so excited to see if it would live up to the hype that nicholas sparks was known for and it certainly did.
this book got me hooked the second i saw dual pov. the first pov is Colby, a farmer in a small town who has a passion and gift of music. he decided to take a solo trip to florida to escape the farm scene and tap into his love for music. while singing at a local beach bar he stumbled across morgan. now you might think the second pov would be morgan, but no… it is actually beverly. beverly & her son are trying to navigate their escape from life back at home without being caught. the two worlds couldn’t have seemed further apart, but as the story unfolds their worlds begin to collide.
i instantly felt gravitated to this story after reading the synopsis. i couldn’t put the book down because i was so invested in each character. the only reason i didn’t give it a 5 star is because the love interest between colby and morgan felt a little flat and superficial for me. i just didn’t feel their connection to be that strong.
tw: suicide, mental health, domestic abuse
this novel will be released: september 20th 2022!
thank you @netgalley, @randomhouse, and @nicholassparks for this gifted ARC 🫶🏻

Colby has had a rough life. Raised by his aunt, uncle and sister, he finally settled down and helps run the family farm. Working endless hours at the farm leaves him in need of a break. Packing up his beloved guitar, he heads to the beach for a 3 week gig at a restaurant. While there, Colby meets Morgan who is also vacationing in the same location. The lives of Colby and Morgan intersect and neither will leave their vacation the same.
This book was a perfect, easy summer read. I did end up loving the story but it did take until the last 3rd of the book. Overall a great read and I’d recommend.
***huge thanks to NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for my honest review
Another lovey, emotional read by Nicolas Sparks. This story did not disappoint! Enjoyed the story line and characters. Five stars!
Thanks to NetGalley for this ARC.
Nicholas Sparks hits another one out of the park with this one.
Colby Mills is just a small-town farmer who also has a passion for music and writing. He has taken a break from farming to do a small gig on a beach bar in Florida where he meets Morgan Lee who turns his world upside down.
Colby has had lots of heartbreak, his parents died and he went to live with his aunt and uncle on a small farm. His uncle then dies and Colby needs to help his aunt run the farm. His true passion is singing and songwriting and he must get away. He meets Morgan and a romance ensues. He knows there is no way they can be a couple. They are too different and he goes back to the farm heartbroken.
There is a great twist in this book that makes the whole book awesome.
I highly recommend this book. Follow your dreams.
I'll admit, I've slacked off on Nicholas Sparks because I felt like he had lost his mojo. "Dreamland" has brought me back!
Nicholas Sparks is often a favorite of mine. However this book was a did not finish. I just could not get into the story line. The switching of character point of view doesn’t usually bother me, but this one I couldn’t do.
