Dreamland was a solid Nicholas Sparks book. I’ll admit that I haven’t enjoyed his newer novels; they didn’t feel like his original ones. This one, however, felt like the classic Nicholas Sparks book in the best way possible. I loved how the two storylines connected in the end, as well. Highly recommend for any Nicholas Sparks lover!

I am a long time reader or Nicolas Sparks and from the first page I knew this book would be one of his that I wouldn’t be able to put down. The story switches views every few chapters between young farmer/songwriter Coty and Beverly, a mom on the run with her young son from a troubled marriage. I knew there had to be a way that Coty and Beverly’s stories connected so while reading I kept trying to piece that part together. While I enjoyed Coty’s chapters, I found myself trying to speed read through Beverly’s chapters. Her story was darker and there seemed to be something unclear with her troubled young son.
I read this book in one day and although I had been looking for the connection between the two narrators and had figured out pieces of it, I was surprised at the whole story that finally came out.
I would say Dreamland is a very Nicolas Sparkesque book. It was a fast read with engaging characters.

Wow wow wow! Another fantastic read from Nicholas Sparks!
Take elements of Safe Haven, mush it with the suspense and mystery from See Me and add a dash of the music from The Last song and you’ll get Dreamland!
The first half of the book I was wondering how these characters stories were connected and where it would go. Boy did it ever surprise me! While I knew there was a mystery behind Paige, the actual fall out had me shocked! I’m pretty sure I spent the last 30-20% screaming “WHAT IS HAPPENING”!
Romance, mystery and suspense all rolled into one! It was such a roller coaster and I loved it!
Typically I expect a good cry from Nicholas Sparks so I was a little disappointed that this one didn’t do that for me. While the beginning was rather slow, I still very much enjoyed Dreamland and thought it was a brilliant read! I also want to add that I loved that Sparks wrote about Mental Illness. There was a lot to take away from this and it was greatly done!
I’m giving this book 4 stars!

A story about singer/songwriters who meet in Florida, and fall in love, but there are family issues looking to separate them.

In true Nicholas Sparks style, this book is a doozy! I was hooked right away by the unique story of Colby and how he ended up with a gig playing music in Florida, 11 hours from his hometown and the farm he runs with his family. Then comes Morgan, a freshly graduated, ambitious young artist ready to take control and conquer the world. She is celebrating her graduation and one last hoorah in Florida with her friends before they hit the real world. Neither Colby or Morgan anticipated on falling in love in just a few short days, or thought they would have to make a huge decision that would affect the rest of their lives in the same amount of time.
But wait, there’s more…. In a separate story line, Beverly is on the run with her son from her abusive husband. She plans for weeks on her and her sons escape and is finally able to execute it. Her storyline follows her from their escape to finding a small town to hide out in. Beverly seems to think they are safe, but strange things start happening which make her wonder if she had actually escaped his grasp after all.
These two stories collide in a spectacular, unexpected way.
I went through a gamut of emotions reading this book, excitement, heartbreak, hope. This book is perfect for anyone who loves a love story, strong family bonds, and a little suspense. I would recommend this book to most of my reading friends, as it covers a good range of subject matter.
I want to think Random House Publishing and NetGalley for an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you Netgalley for an ARC of the latest Nicholas sparks novel Dreamland. I enjoyed this one. There are two different stories that eventually weave together. Beverly is on the run with her young son and Colby has left his farm life to perform in St. Pete Florida for a few weeks. I currently live in Tampa so it was fun to hear certain areas referenced.

Not my favorite book by Nicholas Sparks. I stopped reading his books years ago and wanted to give him another try. This book fell flat for me and I didn’t feel the connection to the characters. I was more interested in Beverly than Colby. The stories didn’t mesh for me. I would still purchase this book for our library.
He did add one of my biggest annoyances in the story which was mentioning COVID. Not necessary to make the story up to date.
Thank you for the ARC and I do intend to read some of his previous books that have not been made into movies.

Thank you to NetGalley and Random House Publishing for the eARC of Dreamland by Nicholas Sparks.
I truly enjoy many of Nicholas Sparks novels, but recently have found some of the ones written from a strong male POV are hard for me to work through. Don't get me wrong, there were scenes in this book that had me smiling ear to ear, but for me the story just kind of fell flat.
The story follows the quick love story of Colby and Morgan while both vacationing in Florida, both having a strong passion for music. I did not find myself gravitating to the characters or their love story.
There were two stories in one with this novel, which I found interesting and thought how they wove together was tastefully done.

I’m glad so many people enjoyed Dreamland, Nicolas Sparks’ latest. I was not one of them. Having enjoyed his early books and having seen so many 5* reviews for this one, I thought I’d enjoy it, but it’s not for me. It just really fell flat for me.
NetGalley and the publisher, Random House, gave me an early copy in exchange for an honest review. I appreciate that and am pleased that so many others enjoyed the story.

Meet Colby Mills, a 25 years old farmer/singer from North Carolina. Halfway thru a much needed vacation in Florida, he meets Morgan Lee, a 21 years old college graduate from Chicago, who has high hopes of making it big in Nashville. After spending just one week together, Colby begins to realize that maybe love can carry with it the power to question everything!
Love, suspense, hope, and pain, this book had it all. “Dreamland” was a roller coaster ride of emotions, and I loved every minute of it. With relatable characters, beautiful settings, and a twist I did not see coming, this book had me enthralled from beginning to end.
If you are a fan of the romance genre or reads from multiple points of view, than “Dreamland” is for you.
My review will be posted on Twitter and Goodreads on May 23, 2022.
I would like to thank Random House Publishing Group and Netgalley for providing me an advance copy in exchange for an objective review.

This book is fantastic. The romance is expressly done Nicholas Sparks’ style, passion driven by head-over-heels love. The characters are well developed and have grit; I could only hope to meet such morally upright and self-aware characters in real life. I quickly became attached to the characters, making it imperative that I rip through the pages to see what happens to each of them. Thanks to the sky-rocketing suspense, I was hurtled through to the end quicker than I would have liked. The title of this book is perfect, though do not be fooled into thinking that dreams come true or that all dreams are necessarily good ones. Sparks shows he truly is a master at the art of novel writing. I am left wanting more and feeling empty after saying goodbye to Colby, Morgan, Beverly, and little Tommie. I hope this book breathes a new breath of life into you like it did for me. Thank you kindly to NetGalley, for the advanced copy.

Thanks for the advanced copy. I liked it okay but log for the days of his books like The Notebook and The Longest Ride. I liked that he had a character with a mental illness but I wish the tie between Colby and Beverly was revealed sooner In the book.

I absolutely loved this book. It was a beautiful romance story with an ending I did not expect. Nicholas sparks will be a favorite forever. Thank you netgalley!

Nichols Sparks is one of my go to writers. I never miss reading one of her books. When I saw this book offered on NetGalley I immediately requested and was so excited as be granted an advance copy in return for my honest opinion.
The characters Colby, Morgan, Beverly and Paige and all beautifully developed. I fell in love with everyone if the characters.
Such an incredible and surprising ending.
An emotional and beautiful romance story. One of Nicolas Sparks bests.
Thank you NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group for a great read.
Highly recommend.

Nicholas Sparks brings us the story of Colby whose musical dreams are cut short by family obligations. Now he occasionally plays at a bar in St. Pete's Beach, Florida from time to time. Here, he is drawn to Morgan and her friends. They find themselves spending more and more time together and discover that they share a love of music as well. When she invites him to join her in Nashville, Colby wonders if this dream could be a possibility. When Morgan goes to Nashville, their busy lives get in the way and slowly communication dwindles down. Meanwhile, Beverly is running away with her son from her abusive husband. She brings them to a small town trying to make the best out of life. Desperation and fear has Beverly making life altering choices that all three of them.
Nicholas Sparks brings us a story of young love and all the possibilities that love can show us. He also shows us what the love for a child and abuse can make someone do. You are rooting for Colby and Morgan as they discover each other and fall in love. You go through all the feelings love brings about with them. Then you are introduced to Beverly and see her struggle as she makes her escape. As you read about these individuals, you try to figure out how their lives will intersect and what actions will affect them all. This will have you keep turning the page until the truth is revealed. I look forward to reading more from this author.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I would like to thank NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group for this privilege.

I felt so honored to read an early copy of Nicholas Spark’s newest novel, Dreamland! The story alternates between the individual stories of two people: Colby and Beverly and how their lives unexpectedly intertwine at the end. In true Sparks fashion, he keeps you hooked with a budding new romance and mild suspense. He took on a new element (no spoilers!) but I believe it’s a topic he’s never written about before and he did it with grace and good measure. I love Nicholas Sparks, he remains one of my favorite authors after many, many years.

There was no doubt that this was going to be another great Nicholas Sparks book! I was hooked until the very last page! Love, loss, family, and friendship. Also, I always appreciate when a book touches on mental health awareness. This book was charming and heartbreakingly beautiful. Definitely a must read!
Thank you to NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group for this arc!

Another great book by Nicholas Sparks. It was both happy and sad at times. It showed that anything is possible. Just when you think love can't happen anything is possible. It also tells the story of having bipolar and what happens to you with that disease.

Wow! Where do I even start?! Nicholas Sparks books began my love for reading many years ago and I was so excited to read a new release of his and he definitely did not disappoint. Dreamland seemed to have a different vibe than his previous books have had. Dreamland seemed a little more suspenseful and took me on a wild ride, with of course his romance mixed in. I will say I was wondering when the stories would start to connect and it wasn’t until about 75% into the book that the pieces started to fall together. However, the last 25% of the book I could not put down and read all at once! I also LOVED the importance of mental health that Dreamland captured throughout this story. Way to go Nicholas Sparks! I applaud you for shedding light on a hard topic. I’m excited to see Sparks has ventured out a little more than just his typical romance novel! 5 stars for me!
Thank you to Net Galley for the arc of this book.

Wonderful book! Yes nice again Sparks delivers a beautiful story of love, loss, and the pull of family.
