Dreamland, is yet another mesmerizing, emotionally impactful, feel-good novel, like only Nicholas Sparks can write. It has all the sweet southern charm, typical of his books, with a beachy flare this time, and an added scenic farm-vibe mixed in. His stories, as always, are richly atmospheric and he is a master storyteller.
Dreamland has two distinct storylines that eventually converge in a powerful, evocative manner. We follow Morgan and Colby’s chance meeting at a beach resort, two singers, fated to a vacation romance. Their story is raw, wonderful and compelling. The reader is drawn into their relationship and you can’t help but root for them, despite all odds set against them. The other storyline follows Beverly, a young mother on the run from an abusive husband, with a sweet son in tow. She’s resourceful, caring and clever, but with money running low and a lawman on her heels, she’s desperate to build a new life. This plot is filled with tension and over-flowing with anxiety, hope and heart.
Dreamland is an immersive story, full of hope, heartbreak and healing. I found it to be an engrossing story and it reminded me that I need to read more of Mr. Sparks books. They are truly unique, well-told and spell-binding.
It's Nicholas Sparks. Just grab your tissues and let's go. 'Dreamland,' is a beautifully written novel. rift with love and intertwining stories, plus a delightful twist!
I am always pleased with a good Nicholas Sparks book. Dreamland was enjoyable, but it was not my favorite of his works. However, I still would recommend this title.
I am a genuine Nicholas Sparks fan, but this one was not for me. It felt like his books I’ve already read…The Last Song meets Safe Haven, but not as good. It felt like he was trying to right a book to be turned into a movie instead of trying to write a quality novel. I loved The Wish and others I have read, but this was not for me. I was so excited for a farmer main character in Colby, as I grew up on a farm, but his interest in Morgan really took away from his character, as Morgan was not a well developed character. She seemed very superficial. Unfortunately this one was not for me.
Amazing book. As the story unfolded,I tried to figure out how the two story lines would merge. I was blown away at the twist in the final chapters; I did not see that coming. A typical page turner by Nicholas Sparks!
Not my favorite!
This was a bit of a strange read. It felt a bit like reading two different books with two alternating POV of two entirely different stories. I definitely found myself much more engaged in Beverly's chapters and I did not really connect with Colby at all and actually did not find his connection with Morgan very believable.
As such, I was left disappointed with the plot twist. I was confused for much of the book and was not satisfied with the ending.
Thank you so much to NetGalley and the publishers for this advanced copy of Nicholas Sparks’s new novel Dreamland in exchange for my review.
4 stars for this one! I really loved getting to know Colby and Morgan’s story, and it was feeling very classic Sparks, a bubbling romance. Then we’re smacked with Beverly’s story, and if you’re a Sparks fan, you know that somehow these stories collide, but it almost felt like I was reading two separate stories for a large portion of the book - they don’t converge until the last fourth or so? I didn’t love how he made the two come together, but only because I felt it was a little bit unbelievable.
That being said, if you like his other works, this one is still worth the read - it’s not the magic like The Wish from last year, but still a really solid romance read. Thank you again NetGalley and the publishers for this ARC!
I am a sucker for Nicholas Sparks and this book did not let me down.
It was a tear jerking story about what it is to put it all on the line and risk everything for a dream and finding out if it's truly possible to leave the past behind.
I have always been a Nicholas Sparks fan, but in recent years I think I am falling out of love with his writing and stories.
Technically this one is a DNF for me. At 80% I skipped to the end to see how it played out. I really felt like his writing the first 40% was easy flowing and enjoyed the musical background to the story line. However, the story lacked in both characterization and plot for majority of the book that I kept fantasying about it being over.

In true Nicholas Sparks fashion, this book pulls you in immediately! We start with Colby, our young songwriter/farmer who is on a work vacation in FL. He is playing (music) at a local place for a few weeks and enjoying his time off between sets. Colby runs into a group of vacationing dancers who are taking the week after finishing university and before moving onto their new chapters. Within this group, Morgan catches Colby's attention.
Also introduced as a different story line, we meet Beverley and her son Tommie who are fleeing a volatile home life and attempting to make a fresh start. We are left wondering how these 2 story lines will cross but they do and it was a true "I didn't see that coming!"
A book with much love and compassion highlighting the importance of family and the lengths we will go to to protect and care for them. I absolutely loved the characters and their struggles! Sparks did a fantastic job of merging the 2 stories and gave plenty of time to explore past timelines behind the stories. Written in a way that made you feel empathy towards the characters but not sorry for them.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the eARC of this amazing book in exchange for my honest review and opinion!
5-stars!!!!
This book is everything a Sparks book should be. A little bit of drama, a lot of love and a stunning setting. Colby had dreamt of a music career but his life had other plans. Instead he runs a farm in North Carolina. While taking a small break he takes a gig playing at a bar in St. Pete’s for a few weeks. There he meets Morgan.
.
Morgan is with girlfriends on a trip fresh from college graduation, before she heads to Nashville to launch her music career. She never expects to fall for Colby, but she does and the feelings are mutual.
.
Meanwhile, Beverly is on the run from her husband with her six year old son. She finds refuge in a small farm town.
.
The way these stories came together completely shocked me. Sparks is a masterful storyteller. This one is available now!

Huge thank you @randomhouse @prhaudio and @netgalley for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.
Nicholas never does a bad Job with his book, but to be honest this wasn’t my favorite book of his. We follow two different POV and by the end when I found why they were connected I was a little bit disappointed. For some reason the book felt rushed and forced I don’t know how to explain it. If you love Nicholas Sparks I’m sure you will like it just fine

Colby, a farmer from North Carolina, takes a vacation to Florida to spend time on his music, all while Beverly and her son run for their lives away from an abusive relationship.

This book is told in dual storylines which finally come together in the end. I absolutely loved this new writing approach from Sparks.
I have read many books by this author and have loved them all, but this felt so different in the best possible way.
I did have a problem with the relationship between Colby and his love interest, Morgan, and felt it was a superficial insta love. However, I was wholeheartedly invested in Beverly’s story and found myself anxious to get to her next part. It was heartbreaking.
While I did guess the twist and how it would all come together very early on, I still really enjoyed this book.

Love Nicholas Sparks and this book has a very different twist. Always love his romance and wonderful characters. The setting in North Carolina, the music, the farm, and the added element of mental illness. I really could not put the book down, wanting to see what was going to happen and how the storylines were going to mesh. This book is definitely one of the best for me for 2022!
I really enjoyed this book. I was drawn into the story right away, and like every Nicholas Sparks book I've read so far, I didn't want to put it down until I finished the story.
The characters were relatable, the storyline was believable, and the way Sparks wrote this story flowed so well that I finished it way quicker than I expected.

We don’t know about you, but we grew up reading Nicholas Sparks novels and were so excited to read his newest, #Dreamland. This book follows a farmer with a dream, Colby, as he takes his first “work vacation” in years to play music at a local, live-music bar in Florida. When Colby meets Morgan there’s absolutely a spark, but we were intrigued to find out what that spark meant. In the second perspective we follow Beverly, a mother who’s escaping a dangerous home to keep her young son safe. We felt giddy, anxious, proud and everything in between with this novel. And we can absolutely assure you that once you start, you’ll want to know how it ends. This book is officially out TODAY and we highly encourage you to grab a copy and transport to Dreamland.
WHAT WE LOVED
+ a lil bit of romance
+ current trends / pop culture references

READ IF YOU ENJOYED
+ Safe Haven
+ The Last Song
+ The Vow
Thanks to Random House Publishing for providing this ARC in exchange for our honest review.
It has certainly been awhile since I have read a Nicholas Sparks book. I always love the sweet quality in his books. The storyline with Colby and Morgan was the easygoing and innocent love story you expect from Sparks. While I enjoyed their story I wanted Morgan to be a little more engaged in the blossoming relationship sooner than she was. Then the detail in the Beverly storyline was hard to stick with especially her day-to-day activity. I found myself looking ahead to see how much longer until the storyline would switch again.
Of course it all made sense in the end but
for me the book was much too slow. I wanted to rate this book higher since I am a long-ago Nicholas Sparks fan but three stars was the best I could do.
Thankyou to NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group - Random House for the ARC.
Nicholas Sparks has consistently amazed me with his novels. I have them all. Hope to meet him one day.
This novel explores the love between two people, Colby and Morgan and their love of music. They come from different backgrounds. Colby once expired to have a musical career but has realized that would not come easily and he overseas his family farm while playing at a bar in St. Pete’s Beach.
Morgan comes from Chicago where her parents are doctors and graduated college with a music degree. She wants to make it in Nashville. They met and sparks fly instantly. Their love of music and song writing brings them together on so many levels.
Another story line involves Beverly, a mother who leaves an abusive husband. She wants to hide out in a small town. All three of the main characters are tied together. Can dreams come true? Does their past come back to haunt them?
Thank you NetGalley, Random House and Nicholas Sparks for this amazing ARC. Out Sept 20th 2022.
What creative storytelling!!! As this book began it was a mystery to me how these two story lines would connect but I was impressed when they finally did!! I loved this story, I loved Colby's character and thought this story was perfectly woven with a good plot, characters and swoon!!! Morgan was so sweet and much more mature than her age. Beverly's POV broke my heart and yet I was cheering for her at the end. Great read and a very satisfying ending.
Once again Nicholas Sparks comes through. I absolutely loved this book and I would encourage others to pick it up too.
