Women at Halftime by Shayne Moore and Carolyn Castleberry Hux is a book that aims to give hope to women looking for new roles to fill in the second half of their lives. It is meant to serve as inspiration for living lives with continued meaning. It is also a blueprint of how to get started. I think women of many different ages will find this book inspiring. I received a digital copy of this book from the publisher with no obligations. These opinions are entirely my own.

While I normally really enjoy Christian literature, this book just wasn't hitting the mark for me. Even as a woman, I felt as though this advice wasn't super applicable to me at the stage of life that I am in right now.

Being over the hill need not be the only option for those of us reaching a certain age. According to the authors of Women at Halftime, it is possible for Christian women to continue to achieve success and fulfillment in accordance with the purposes God has set for us. Women at Halftime looks to me to be a thorough guide for us to delve deep into our heart and soul and to find the impetus to ascertain our dreams and fulfill them. There are a ton of prompts and questions (some with tables to fill in), coupled with prayer points and action plans. I like that they are based on the sessions provided by Halftime Institute, a well-established coaching organization (one of the authors, Carolyn Castleberry Hux, is a coach there.)

I enjoyed reading the many stories as well, all true accounts from women who've experienced the transitions in life.

Well-written and a really worthwhile book. I hope to go through it one day soon and maybe even buy a hard copy.

5 stars from me.

This was a book specifically written for chiristians (which I am not) and so although I liked the idea of the book it was not for me.

Women at Halftime is a self help guide for a middle aged American Christian women. It has lots of religious based advice and so won't be suitable for everyone. I also found the advice, stories and case studies aimed at a very specific type of women and I found them hard to relate to. A good well written book for the right type of women.

Didn’t realize this was a Christian publisher. Just saw category of Mind, Body, Wellness and self help. But, this is a Christian book primarily and therefore not what I was looking for based on discriorion.
