What a ride! The excellent start of a new series that i thoroughly enjoyed as it kept me on the edge and guessing.
An excellent story, gripping and intriguing. A cast of fleshed out characters and a well developed plot.
Can't wait to read other books in this series.
Highly recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine
Hunting the Mirror Man, by Brian Shea & Ty Hutchinson. Oh my gosh Gray, Gaston, Patton and Sparks where freaking amazing in this mind blowing thriller. Let’s start off by saying that the book cover is totally awesome. I so did not connect the two from the title until the second part of the book. I loved all the characters story even the subjects that Gray and his partners were chasing.
I totally did not see how this book was ending. For me the background story and the plot of the story was very fresh and entertaining for a thriller book. The story was very detailed these details pertained to the importance of the story. From those details the writer wanted their readers to have a good visualization of the story in their mind, as well as gain some type of connection to the book for more of a fulfilled enjoyment. For me, the writer did an excellent job of keeping the dialogue on track with the characters.
I thought the dialogue supplied legitimate and factual information that helped me, the reader notice some of the reality to the book. I liked how Gray handled himself in the book. He didn’t come in like he was a hero riding to save the day. I also liked that he didn’t come in trying to take over the investigations. Opting to gain the respect of his piers was a smart decision to make before supplying your inputs.
I will admit one thing about Grays’s character that I would like to see added, maybe Gray could learn martial arts of any form. When our profiler gets caught without a gun he needs backup. I will not forget this phrase, “First one to five gets it all.”Clearly the writer is trying to tell you something. I’m trying to understand something.
How can you have two serial killers on different sides of the continent committing the same crime at the same time. Am I missing something here? Is there a serial killers cult thing happening, because if there is all I ask is that the killer give me enough time to pack my things, hitch a plane ride headed for destination unknown. (Like I would tell the killer where I’m going). For what its worth, I loved this book and I eagerly look forward to reading more books from this series.
I recommend this book with two snaps and a, twist. Until next time my fellow readers… read on!
Great story…with an interesting twist. The connection between the two cases was unexpected. . Interested in reading more by these authors.
The story begins with FBI Agent Sterling She of the BAU group travels to Iowa to investigate a potential serial killer. Gray gives a profile of the killer. Then he is called to London because their is a similiar killing. He must get inside the killer's mind in order to find out who he is.
I thought it was an amazing book, it had everything that I wanted in it. It was gripping with twists, shocks and revelation of the killer was shocking.
I received this book through "NetGalley" and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
This is a start of a new series and if this book is an indication of what it will be like, then it is a definite winner.
The story begins with FBI Agent Sterling Shea of the BAU group traveling to Iowa to assist with a potential serial killer. He is brought to the college town where the killings have been discovered. Follow Agent Shea and the members of the Ames Police department as they search for the killer. Agent Shea has developed a profile and also was able to come up with how the killer was selecting his victims. See how it gets resolved in the end.
After completion of the Iowa case, Agent Shea is back at his office where he receives a new assignment to help Interpol and the London Police find a serial kkiller. Once he arrived there and met the team, they began their hunt for any evidence that might have been left behind. What they learned was very little and it all came together due to one of the members of the teams relationship. Learn what broke the case wide open and how they were able to attract the killers attention. Read about the confrentation where it all got resolved. Find out what similarities the two cases had.
This is definitely a book that needs to be read.
i love a good hunt for a serial killer. I think this will be an interesting series for sure. It had a touch of romance, mystery and profiling. I would like to see how Gray's future holds up and if he ends up taking the new job. For me it was a bit rushed at times and had some mislabled characters which could be a quick oversight but it does confuse you a bit
This book was sent to me by Netgalley electrically for review…mystery and murder…mayhem…horror…the characters are not likable…the story is dark…
This was a great start to a new series! I thought it was very easy to read - so easy to binge in a couple of sittings. The killers were wonderfully creepy; I really liked the reveals about them & their methods - they had me eagerly turning the pages to see what was going to happen next! With Agent Stirling Gray being an FBI profiler, it does give off Criminal Minds vibes, so if you like the show, I think you will like this book. I'm looking forward to the next in the series!
Thanks to Netgalley and Severn River Publishing for sharing this title. This was an enjoyable diversion for a few days. I would highly recommend this to any Criminal Minds fans, it has a vibe very close to that but with a smaller cast of characters. This definitely seems like it could be an ongoing series and I’ll probably read more.
Thank you to NetGalley as well as Severn River Publishing for the ARC copy of Hunting the Mirror Man!
The concept for the book is a great one, Agent Sterling Gray is an FBI agent for the Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU). This book follows Agent Gray as he is hunting the Mirror Man. This book gave me big Criminal Minds vibes but sadly there were so many errors it was hard for me to enjoy. The character Gary is referred to as Michael multiple times, there are spelling and punctuation errors in almost every chapter. The book gave a lot of detail in some areas and hardly any in other areas. The title regarding the Mirror Man is also strange as the killer was never referred to this title in the entirety of the book. I feel like there were many pieces left unsorted and I’m a fairly disappointed.
Tried to get into this story but I did struggle. Would appeal to fans of this genre I am sure, just did not keep me gripped.
The premise behind this book is fantastic. I love crime and BAU related stories. This however way just okay for me. I love the character development but the story for me felt rushed and quick.
I will pick up the next on the series though to see how it develops.
Thank you to netgalley for providing an advance copy in exchange for my honest review
Agent Sterling Gray is an FBI profiler in the Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU). He gets called to a case in Iowa where girls are going missing and then showing up dead. The clock is ticking, as the killer only keeps the girls alive for 3 days. Interpol then contacts Gray, and asks for his help on a similar case in London. Gray goes to London to help solve this case. That’s when things get turned upside down. Gray has to now get inside the killer’s mind in order to find out who he is and how to find him. Only, the killer has eyes on Gray.
This was an absolutely fantastic book. It had everything that I wanted from it and more. It started out extremely creepy, kept me engaged, and it was gripping. There are twists, shocks, and reveals that I never saw coming.
I loved that there was a dual story line, and it was really pushed forward with a lot of dialogue. The authors did an excellent job with the police procedural aspect of it, as well as being able to convey how Agent Gray came about his profile. I really liked seeing his process.
I don’t even know what the next book is about in this series, but I already want to read it.
This book comes out on May 31, 2022. You really need to pre-order yours today. you can do that here.
This is a hard book to review due to trying to review without spoilers. Gray is on the search for a serial killer which leads him from American to London . This book was really good. It had enough mystery to keep me intrigued and Gray is a very likable character. I look forward to the next book in the series and hoping it's just as good.
This is the start of a new series. It was okay. I think it definitely has the potential to be something really great. I loved the story line but found the execution to be a little choppy. At times I felt there wasn't enough information or story development; while at other times, it was too much or felt rushed.
I like the premise of this new series and I look forward to seeing where this one goes.
Thank you #netgalley and #severnriverpublishing for eARC.
Loved the dual continent aspect of this engaging thriller, taking us from America to England to track a killer. The profiling of the killer was fascinating and the author did an amazing job of presenting the different approaches to a common goal across the two countries. Clever and creepy book!
Hard to review without spoilers. Women are disappearing and ending up dead near the college in Ames Iowa. FBI Agent Gray is called in to help find the killer. After solving the mystery he is sent to London where similar cases have been going unsolved. A fast paced murder mystery that will keep your attention from page one through the end of the book
I’m grateful to NetGalley for an advanced copy of,this novel,
