I had read the previous two books in the Three Springs, Texas series, so I knew I needed to read Her Cowboy Wedding Date by Cari Lynn Webb. I was so happy to get Tess’s story and wrap up an ongoing minor subplot.
Neither Tess nor Carter is looking for love. Tess was burned during her first marriage and is afraid to depend on someone else for her happiness. Carter has some commitment issues stemming from his childhood and believes more in being able to support his grandfather and brothers rather than finding love and having a family of his own. However, being the best man and maid of honor in an upcoming wedding, they are tasked with pulling together the wedding at the last minute when the planner runs off with all the wedding funds. All the time they’re now spending together starts bringing up feelings they need to sort out and hopefully allow them to find a happily ever after.
I liked both Tess and Carter, and the banter between them had me smiling almost from cover to cover. They worked well together. But I’ll admit that I got a little tired of Tess and Carter’s internal musings about why they didn’t want to get into a relationship. But I was cheering them on and couldn’t put the book down because I wanted to see how everything turned out.
Her Cowboy Wedding Date was a satisfying ending to the Three Springs, Texas series. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and the series as a whole. The book does stand on its own, but having read the previous books did enhance the experience, and I’d recommend starting at the beginning. If you’re a fan of sweet, contemporary romance, pick up this series!
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley and I am voluntarily reviewing it.
While this is a part of a series, and the prior couples make multiple appearances, you don't have to read them to fully understand and enjoy this story.
I hope the author plans to continue with the series or start a new one with Carter's brothers!!!!
This story is written in a dual POV format. That really helps me to better understand and connect with the characters. The story was very well written and flowed beautifully.
I loved how kind-hearted Tess was with her neighbors and fellow citizens. She was always willing to stop everything and help someone out. As a young widow, who was burned by love, she says over and over that she isn't looking for love. She wants to make her family and friends happy.
Carter is just the opposite, he looks to take care of family first and then business. He wants a solid foundation for his grandpa and 4 brothers. He deep rooted beliefs stem from the boys' parents abandoning them to their maternal grandparents who struggled on the farm with 5 mouths to feed. He feels he can't handle a relationship on top of everything else that he does.
Can these two plan her cousin's wedding in two weeks? Can they get past their own histories to see that love can complete them? Well you will have to read for yourself.
This is a sweet, clean romance with just some kissing.
This is a Clean Cowboy Romance, and this is the third book in the Three Springs, Texas series. I have read and reviewed the first book in this series, but I think you can read this book as a standalone without any problems. I love the characters in this book, and I think there are some really unique and quirky characters that I loved so much. I have to say everything I loved about this book is the secondary characters and the craziness they had going on. I really did not like the whole wedding thing that was going on. I did enjoy the ending of this book. I was kindly provided an e-copy of this book by the publisher (Harlequin Heartwarming) or author (Cari Lynn Webb) via NetGalley, so I can give an honest review about how I feel about this book. I want to send a big Thank you to them for that.
This is a good book. The two main characters are Tess and Carter. Tess runs her grandparents’ general store and makes chocolate and Carter is starting up a distillery. Their is a mutual attraction. They are bride maid and best man for their friends wedding but the wedding planner took off with the money, but they make wedding special. They each have issues but together they fall in love.
