Eeeeeeeeeehhhhhhhhhhhh so. This is book two in a series where second sons seem to ... not be second sons any more. Following on from Spence & Tessa's story in book one, we now meet Everett (Ev) the new Duke of Camden and catch up with Lady Adalyn (Addie) who appeared in book one. It's all ver opposites attract, with Addie a sparkly, witty, outspoken leader of the ton, and Ev a retiring sort who has no idea about the dos and don'ts of the London Season.

Ev enlists Addie's help to find a suitable Duchess and describes the anti-Addie. Which was obviously very ill advised as they are clearly enamoured of each other.

The premise is fine, the two main characters are likeable, but the writing is a bit heavy footed and so finishing this did feel like a bit of a slog.

The second of the Second Sons comes to the London season after his brother's demise to find a bride.

Of course, Addie is at her matchmaking task this season, but does it really help or hurt in finding her match.

What I really liked about this romance was that opposites attract. Ev is reserved and shy and Addie is outgoing and bubbly. Of course I spent the whole book wanting for them to tell eachother how they feel about the other, but that is what kept me reading.

I read the previous book and liked seeing other characters return. It was nice having some background, but I think this book could read fine as a stand-alone too.

I'm excited for what the next book will be! I think Owen getting his story will be entertaining knowing his very outgoing personality.

Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for providing me a copy of this ARC for my honest review.

Everett really is clueless when it comes to the Ton and what is expected and appropriate. Adalyn is not what he's looking for at least that is what he believes. His heart has other feelings for her though. When he finally listened to his heart it was almost too late. Adalyn thinks that she knows what Everett wants his Duchess to act like. Boy was she wrong. Debating with the Duke, is a cute book.

Opposites Attract! Boy, do they attract. I love love this story. Everett and Addie are such great characters. Their dialog is priceless. Snarky and bickering all leading to that fabulous first kiss that is borne out of arguing. Yes! Can you tell I love enemies to lovers and opposite attract. Don’t give me sappy, give me butting heads. But tears were still in the mix. Alexa’s writing is engaging and enthralling. This story definitely had me smiling a great big ole smile. I am so glad I found her a few series back. Love her writing.

When Everett is called back from the war, because he is now a duke, he realizes he must marry. He asks fiery Addie to find him someone sedate and duchess-like to help him manage his dukedom. Opposite in nature, Addie and Everett find a chemistry they can’t deny. I received an ARC from NetGalley and Dragonblade Publishing for my honest review.
