I did not enjoy this book. It was very trite and what we are afraid of when we pick up a cozy mystery.

In the 14th Fairytale Cupcake Bakery Mystery, Mel gets shot at. After more business owners are attacked and one death, Mel most figure out who is attacking the shop owners.
I love this cozy mystery series, and the 14th book was as enjoyable as the first. I love getting updates from Mel and the other characters. Highly recommend this book/series on audio!

Bakery store owner, Mel, is shot at as she is leaving work one night. Mel wasn't hit, but in the following days, other local store owners are attacked and murdered. Mel needs to work with her prosecutor husband and police chief step-dad to find the murderer , or she'll need to give up her business. Strawberried Alive is an enjoyable cozy mystery by Jenn McKinlay.
I was given an ARC of this book by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I quite enjoyed listening to Strawberried Alive by Jenn McKinlay. It was an easy listen and the story moved at a nice pace. I quite enjoyed how cupcakes were found throughout the story. Mel, the main character is relatable and it is quite understandable how she would have difficulty sitting on the sidelines after someone tried to murder her.

If you are a cozy mystery fan, you’ll love this story. It’s got all the things one needs in it plus some. It is the 14 book in a series though so you may want to read those first. I read this one and that’s it so far from the series but I can see myself going back and starting all over at book one.
At the Fairy Tale Cupcakes bakery everything is running as smoothly as ever. Newlyweds Mel and Joe are enjoying their lives and making the most of it. However, things go terribly wrong one night when an unknown gunman shoots at Mel. The bullets may have missed their target but the cupcake crew goes on high alert to figure out who could possibly have wanted to kill small-town baker Mel and why.
Soon, more business owners are attacked and eventually things turn fatal. The locals start to wonder if the killer could be one of their own. Every single shop owner in town starts to worry and fear that it’s just a matter of time before it’s their turn to become the victim. It’s going to take all the cupcake crews work to try and catch this killer before he or she strikes again and someone else winds up face down.
This book was so much fun and if you like audio books the audio was fantastic. Excellent narrator who brought the story to life in so many ways.
Highly recommend it!!.

Life is smooth as buttercream at the Fairy Tale Cupcakes bakery, and newlyweds Mel and Joe are stopping to smell the flours. But things start to crumble one night when an unknown gunman takes a shot at Mel. Even though the bullets miss their mark, the cupcake crew goes on high alert to figure out who would want to kill a small-town baker—and why.
When more business owners are attacked, things turn fatal, and locals begin to wonder if the killer could be one of their own. Every shop owner in town starts to fear it’s only a matter of time before they too become victims of the mystery murderer. Despite the cupcake crew's superb baking skills, it will be anything but a piece of cake to catch the killer, as they try to prevent anyone else from being berried.
This book is the fourteenth book in the cupcake bakery mystery series. I really missed Angie in this book. I read the first book and then skipped to the 14th. I don’t recommend doing that, it will make your head spin. This is a decent series and I’d recommend it if your looking for a cozy mystery series you can live in for a while.

Super cute! Fans of cozy mystery/ romance will love this one.
Good plot, and great ending. Thanks Netgalley for the Audio copy.

I enjoyed this newest in the Cupcake series! Mel is up to her same tricks trying to make the world a better place by creating awesome cupcakes and eliminating murderers. I love the community of Old Towne and can’t wait for the next one!
I received an advanced copy. All thoughts are my own.

This was a pretty good cozy mystery and is what you would expect from the author. Even though and maybe especially because she could be at risk the main character investigates with her usual.crew. The author did a good job of keeping the reader guessing and it was not immediately obvious what was going on and who was behind the disturbing events in Old Town. I liked the scenario where there is a surprise protector . A solid offering

This was such a fun cozy mystery. I was given this book to read and review and it was actually my first look at this series. Even at book 14, it didn’t not disappoint.
I love the fun little twist involved and I am all about mysteries that take place with talk of food mingled in, especially when it includes recipes.
I will for sure be going back and starting at the beginning with this series and then continuing it on.

I hadn't really considered how much of an effect Angie and Tate finally having a child was going to have on the series... After this book, I feel like the next generation and keeping it safe could very easily become a focus and I'm sort of hoping that McKinley does not take things that way. I sort of missed Angie in this book as she was more removed to stay home with the baby.

I love a good cozy mystery I didn’t know I loved them but this might be a second or third cozy mystery I’ve read I really liked this tone

Strawberried Alive is the 14th book in the Cupcake Bakery Mystery series by Jenn McKinlay. I had not read the previous books (yet!) and found this to be easily read as a standalone cozy mystery.
I absolutely loved this book! I thought characters were interesting and engaging. I thought the mystery was fascinating and complex! This is definitely a well established series!
This book was fast paced and I was captivated by it!
I thought the narration by Susan Boyce was wonderful! I loved listening to her bring this book to life!
I'll definitely be checking out the rest of this series! (And you should too!)
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

At this point how does this series continue to slap?? Honestly, Jenn Mckinlay Is a step above the rest. Her cozy mysteries are realistic, engaging and charming all in one. I will never get tired of this series. The Delora Brothers are one of my favorite element. I listened to this in one day while cleaning and it was perfect.

Strawberried Alive is a good cozy mystery, sprinkled with a good amount of humor. There were several parts that had me laughing out loud. And the reveal. I won't give too much away, but it was definitely not something I saw coming, even though parts of it I had guessed.
The book is #14 in a series, and while it is not necessary to have read any prior books in order to read this one, I think it is better to read the books in order. There are a lot of recurring characters and their personalities have been developed throughout the series. The characters are what makes this series one of my favorites.
Thank you to the publisher and to Net Galley for providing me with an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

*received for free from netgalley for honest review* i always love reading food related cozy mysteries and this was a very cute book! i don't think i have read any books from this series but would love to read more!

I was happy to receive this audiobook as a NetGalleyShelf advance read option. And I enjoyed the story as well, meeting Mel and Joe, Angie and Tate for the first time.
Of course, the author Jenn McKinlay had me hooked into the story and lives of these characters right away when someone tries to kill the main character Mel early in the story.
I then could feel my attachment, to not only Mel but her husband and extended family and also to her entire town. They are fearing for their lives and don’t know who is target or why. As with any life threatening time everyone is on edge and is pointing fingers at each other.
I easily became attached to the characters the town and business owners. This was my first read in this series, and I was eager to go back and start the series from the beginning. I was eager to see where they all began and how they progressed to this current stage.
Thanks again to NetGalley for the experience of this book, and the author Jenn McKinlay for introducing me to some new friends.

This was a really cute cozy mystery and we all know how I love a good cozy mystery! My favorite part is how kind the baker is even when people are being awful to her. You don't see a lot of that these days, so that part was refreshing. Additionally, I love that her hubs and his band of brothers wanted to protect her but also how she didn't let that get in the way of what she wanted to do, even if it meant pissing them all off! I am now going to have to add this series to my long and ever-growing list of series that I need to read!

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the early read/listen. The story was easy to predict but still enjoyed listening and reading. The characters were all likable. Narrator did a great job telling the story and giving each character their own voice.

You know how when you read the book first and then watch the movie you can be disappointed by the casting or the parts of the story that were cut out? That is how I felt when I listened to the narration of this audiobook. It is not that the narrator didn't do a good job, the problem was that I have already read books from this series and I had my own idea of the voices in my head. So hearing the voices that Susan Boyce gave to these characters were not the ones I had used in my head.
This was another great book in the Cupcake Bakery Mystery series. I love the cast of characters and I loved how many unexpected twists there were in this book. I did not anticipate who the killer was but the reveal made perfect sense once Mel spelled it out for me. :)
Can't wait for the next installment.
