This was an okay book. It's very poetic, and I love the fact that the night librarian is an old spider who carries their collection in their web, but I didn't quite get the point of it beyond that.
This is really lovely and has beautiful prose and a nice flow to the writing. It utilizes a lot of nature imagery and words, and it's about a spider Night Librarian telling a story to the forest inhabitants. I am not sure that this is a book that would interest children at all, otherwise I would rate it a star higher. But boy, it is pretty.
This magical book will no doubt be a read aloud favorite. The illustrations alone are beautiful and the stories of the creatures of the forest are fantastical.
A very cute book about the animals of the forest who rush to hear a tale by the spider who narrates fairy-tales and runs the Twilight Library.
It reads like a children's poem, which also means that it won't take more than a couple of minutes, and the artwork is incredible!
A pretty sweet and short book, targeting young children but also able to be enjoyed by adults.
The story focuses on a mysterious storyteller, who gathers animals and critters at night in a forest to tell them tales and fables, only for the gathering to be done by dawn. There’s not much in terms of plot, it’s just a small poetic calling for the creatures to come closer and listen, but in a few pages, it manages to calm one’s nerves and give the reader a breather.
The art was magnificent and did the trick perfectly, and the simple yet dreamy way of talking and describing things the storyteller had was soothing to the soul.
All in all, a perfect book for a goodnight read, and a jewel in its entirety thanks to its pages’ appearance, too.

Gorgeously illustrated, this is a lovely bedtime [or nap-time ;-) ] story about the nighttime world and their librarian that reads them all to sleep with a simple but lovely story. This was absolutely delightful. I would absolutely purchase this for all the littles in my life. Lovely.
Thank you to NetGalley, Carmen Oliver, Minen Asiain Lora - Illustrator, and NorthSouth Books for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
"The Twilight Library" has beautiful watercolor pictures that immediately drew myself and my youngest bookworm in. All of these nighttime animals and insects are being called to the library and the story looks at how they get there. It was a peaceful story to read and would be perfect for a cozy time before our own going to sleep. Thank you to NetGalley and NorthSouth Books! All thoughts and opinions are my own!
I think I liked the premise of this one more than the book itself.
Here we have a variety of nocturnal creatures visiting the library for a story time that will send them off to sleepyland at dawn. The soft, watercolor illustrations have a hazy, dreamy feel to them, but they also seem unfinished.
That said, I would certainly not hesitate to add the book to our library's shelves. This quiet, soothing book would definitely be a good bedtime read.

The Twilight Library by Carmen Oliver was a quiet, sleepy kind of book about a librarian spider calling all the nocturnal animals to her to read them stories.
The illustrations were soft and watercolor-y and vast. This was an extremely short children's book that would be perfect for just before bedtime. I think it did what it was intended to do, there was just not a lot there storywise.
I received an arc of this title from NetGalley for an honest review. Such a lovely story, but the illustrations make this a great book.
A fun and quick read about the animals who come awake at night and follow the beckoning of the night librarian. With beautiful and bright illustrations, this is one that is sure to bring joy to children as they drift off to sleep.
Thank you to Netgalley and North South Books for the opportunity to read and review this title.
📖My Thoughts📖
This is a very descriptive and beautifully illustrated book. It seems to flow like that of a poem. I think it would even work as a bedtime story for myself. My children really enjoyed the colorful illustrations and it just seemed to calm them, almost like the tranquil meditation music I played for them when they were infants. I think this is a great book for all ages, not just children.
Thank you Netgalley, Carmen Oliver and North South Books for the opportunity to read and review this delightful children’s book. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
What a perfect little kid's book! The Twilight Library is a beautifully illustrated children's book focused on the creatures that come out at night. Instead of a bedtime story, they're read a twilight story before all the animals drift off to sleep in the morning.
I can easily see myself purchasing this for friends who have children and am even considering one for my shelves because it's such a cute little book! It deserves five stars and I hope the author and illustrator reunite for more.
Thank you so much to NetGalley and NorthSouth Books for providing me with a copy for an honest review!
This is a very charming and enchanting bedtime story book I've encountered so far! The illustration is so colourful, it's very enchanting illustration that will lure you to the Twilight Library along with all the night creatures there. It's also beautifully written and sounds poetic. Overall, it's a mysterious, alluring, and calming book to read before you or the children sleep
The illustrations in this book are absolutely stunning. The story is beautiful as well. I can see parents with children really enjoying looking at this book and enjoying the illustrations.
Beautifully illustrated book about all the creatures at night settling down for a story. Very imaginative. Designed to put little ones to sleep, I think. The print seemed a bit small, at least in an ebook, but maybe in print it wouldn’t seem so small. It’s possible that the print might be intentionally small to keep the illustrations as the focus so that it can be a good night book.
This is an enchanting story! I fell in love with the Twilight Library that includes night creatures coming to be read a tale spun by the Librarian who happens to be spider. This would be such a lovely bed time story for little ones!
Thank you so much to NorthSouth Books and Netgalley for the ebook to read and review.
This book will literally make sure you relax instantaneously. The way it was illustrated in such beautiful hues that lure your eyes in automatically. Then you are lead into the story being woven by a librarian spider who is spinning the tales for all the creatures and critters that have gathered to hear.
I was not expecting this book to actually make you feel relaxed and sleepy, this is a perfect book for reading with your young child before bedtime, they will so quickly be sleepy and relaxed that they will fall asleep soon after, dreaming of everything calming.
Everything in this from the watercolours to the descriptions made you relax it’s a perfect before bedtime story. It was really cleverly written in a perfect descriptive style. It was easy to read and the simplicity of the story was so cute.
A very unusual bedtime story. It reminded me a lot of a guided meditation. The illustrations are lovely with a very soothing colour palette as well.
North South Books makes pretty books, they are absolutely gorgeous. This one is no exception to that rule. The illustrations that follow this story are so relaxing, breathtaking, and perfect for a nighttime read. the images showcase insects and animals flocking to hear a story. (my favorite are the little bats, so cute!). Books about books and reading are also some of my favorites so I was excited to see this one available for review.
The story is about the Twilight Library run by a little spider, the Night Librarian that spins tales and stories like a web. The bed time tale engulfs the listeners, they feel like they are there then they are back in the woods just like before.
This story was very short and easy for an adult to read, like I mentioned it woud be a greta bedtime book. The spreads of illustration are perfect to follow along with the story and words. I think if your young readers enjoy animals they will probably enjoy these little ones and the spider librarian.
