Three heartwarming and well told romance novella that made me smile and root for the characters.
I loved the atmosphere, the characters, and it made me wish I was able to create a quilt.
It's a compelling and uplifting read.
Recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine

Perfect little book; 3 short stories by different authors, all with a quilting theme.

The stories aren't related, but they are sewn together (see what I did there?) under a quilting theme. I loved all 3 of the stories even though I know nothing about quilting, but enjoyed learning about the sentiment involved in each quilt.

These are great stories when you just have a short time to read and want a bit of HEA romance. Enjoy!

Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book, but my opinions are my own.

The Wishing Quilt is a collection of three novellas by different authors. The selections all involve extended families that give the reader different histories of quilts. Quilting bees were a gathering of friends and family who all brought squares and material to the meeting. Members would sew and others would work the frame. Patterns present memorable happenings in life; wedding, a baby’s birth, a life that has passed. Today we still find women and men gathering to make the ornate patterned collections. Others head to quilting museums, sales and fundraisers.
These three stories bring duos back from their youth when they were star crossed, yet too young to carry on. Celebrations of marriage give reason to gather and make a quilt to give to the bride. In the last tale we find an Alaskan woman hoping to attend the Quilt Festival to perhaps sell some of her ideas for patterns. Alaska is a long way from Texas yet she traveled with hopes of learning new ideas from the local quilters.
The Wishing Quilt will be published on August 30, 2022 by Zebra Books of Kensington Publishing Corporation. I extend my gratitude to them for allowing me to read The Wishing Quilt via NetGalley. Jodi Thomas, Lori Wilde and Patience Griffin gave readers such delightful novels of love, family and knowledge of quilters extraordinary talents. In reading this I was reminded of my mother’s love for quilts. She did not create, just considered the beautiful coverlet as treasures. I have several she passed down to me. This is a lovely book - do enjoy!

The Wishing Quilt is a contemporary romance anthology featuring three wonderful novellas. We see the inspiration behind the love of a quilt that takes these three women down a road that leads their hearts to be fulfilled and loved.

With that beautiful cover that invites you in, Jodi Thomas brings us to While A Way, TX. This town might not seem much on the outside but the people give it all that it needs that it draws it's strength from.

In the Secret Wish, we are introduced Avery Cleveland. She finds her way to this town after a career ending injury. Feeling hopeless with no other options, coming to this town was the fresh start that she desperately needed. With a renewed drive to build back up her late great grandmother's quilt shop, it ignited something within her that turned that hopelessness into hope. After a chance encounter with the local sheriff, Daniel Solis, she soon comes to realize that he might be the missing patch that will make her quilt complete.

I really enjoyed this novella. Avery is the type of character that will pull at your heart. She is lost, waiting to be found. She doesn't have family in her corner. You want her to feel love and be loved. You want to see her get her hea. Daniel is awkwardly charming. He is mesmerized by her and she is is everything that he needs but doesn't know how to translate his affection that doesn't transition awkwardly. Their buildup is beautiful. There is a subplot to the story that adds some suspense to the mix. That brings everything together strengthening their characters to where they are meant to be.

I truly hope in the future that we get a chance to revisit this town. This would be a great start to a wonderful series. Only time will tell. I really enjoyed this and despite being a quick read, it was definitely a fulfilling one. With the fall coming up, this would be one that you can cozy up and enjoy. If you are a fan of anyone of these lovely ladies, make sure you add this to your TBR list.

The Secret Wish by Jodi Thomas was my favorite of the 3 stories. It's about a girl down on her luck after an accident ruined her career. There's a hunky sheriff, a little chaos, sprinkled with love and happiness.

Wish Upon A Wedding by Lori Wilde was a sweet second chance romance about two people who were in love as teenagers, and now after 13 years, get a chance to put the past behind them and start again.

When You Wish Upon A Quilt by Patience Griffin was a cute story about a woman who has been very unlucky in love and a guy who just wants to make her and himself happy.

The Wishing Quilt was sweet, fun and a pleasure to read.

Small towns, cowboys, and hand-crafted quilts converge when three couples find their forever. From two of my favorites and one new-to-me author, these stories show us that heirloom quilts have a little magic, wisdom, and love for the next generation.

Sweet, wholesome and heartwarming, these novellas are great for when you don’t have a lot of reading time and the perfect way to introduce yourself to a new author or two. Enjoy your visit to Texas, where the small towns are welcoming, the townsfolk feel like family, and love is always better deep in the heart!

I knew I wanted to read this when I saw that Jodi Thomas had a story in it. While I enjoyed all three novellas, my personal favorite was the story by Jodi Thomas. Reading about the quilts and quilting was so enjoyable. I grew up watching my mother making quilts, and have several of hers that I prize. She used embroidery floss to hold the layers together.

In The Secret Wish, ballerina Avery Cleveland has been forced to stop dancing due to an injury, and has come to the town of While-a-Way, Texas, to run or sell the quilting shop started by her great-grandmother. There is also some intrigue: who is the man who enters her shop after it closes and watches the streets? The sheriff suspects her of being an imposter at first, but that is soon cleared up - a good thing, as he also begins to want to know her better. This is a great story with romance, mystery and intrigue.

In Wish Upon a Wedding, quilting comes in when Ellie Winter's sister has planned a quilting bee for her bachelorette party. Ellie is not thrilled by the location - it is at a ranch owned by the man who she had been in love with years before. This couple had to overcome old misunderstandings to find their way back to each other.

The last story by Patience Griffin is about a woman whose job is quilting and teaching quilting. Paige Holiday is not excited to attend an annual quilt festival in Houston but she needs to promote her new designs. The last time she was there, she met a man who led her on and stole her designs. This time, she meets a man staying at her hotel who is with his sister who is also attending the festival - a genuinely nice man who persists in getting to know her.

I received a review copy of this book from Kensington Books (Zebra) via NetGalley. It was entirely my pleasure to read and review it.

I love anthologies! This anthology is made up of three easy to read romance novellas based on quilting. All three were a pleasure to read. I would have to say that my favorite was Wish Upon A Wedding by Lori Wilde. Who would have thought to have a quilting bee instead of a bachelorette party? I loved the second chance at love trope.

Thanks to Kensington Books, Zebra and Goodreads for the gifted copy. All thoughts are my own.

The Wishing Quilt is a delightful anthology with three stories that revolve around quilts and grandmothers. By accomplished authors Jodi Thomas, Lori Wilde, and Patience Griffin each wrote stories that I enjoyed. Being an anthology these are all novellas in length. The couple meet, have instant attraction, with no explicit bedroom scenes as such.

Ms. Thomas’ The Secret Wish is my favorite. This story has such a unique plot, with interesting main character along with supporting characters that I found easy to care about what happens to them. There is an element of mystery and suspense. Two thumbs up for that. 5 Stars

Wish Upon a Wedding by Lori Wilde is a second chance romance. This couple have a history but haven’t seen each other in over a decade. Feelings over the years have not changed but misconceptions must be overcome first. While it does have a bedroom scene it is not extremely explicit but is more than the other two stories in the anthology. 4 Stars

Patience Griffin is a newer author for me to read with When You Wish Upon a Quilt. Holt Champion and Paige Holiday meet at a quilt show and festival. It is two characters who have been tricked in the past but enjoy each other company. Along with other quilters, I was rooting for them to work through their issues. 4 Stars

An ARC of the book was provided by the publisher through NetGalley which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Three short stories in one book. All three authors have done a great job at writing these perfect stories. Beach friendly reads with a cocktail or two and the perfect romance.

The Wishing Quilt is three short novellas. All revolving around a wishing quilt. I love these three authors on their own. The problem for me is when it’s a short story, I want more. They are a quick read. It is still an enjoyable read. Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington Books/Zebra for the E-ARC. This is my own opinion.

Three novella romances from three authors about quilting and women who’s quilting leads them to romance!

Thanks to Jodi Thomas, Lori Wilde and Patience Griffin and Kensington for the book!

I think the problem with novellas is that the author is constrained in giving a sense of character and developing a plot. So for romantic novellas, there has to be a lot of insta-love that gets resolved rather quickly.

On the other hand, the stories are short and easy to read. Jodi Thomas is one of my favorite authors and I enjoyed her story the most. Her characters were interesting and I wanted to know more about them. They could easily have been the foundation for a longer novel. The other two novellas were fine, but less memorable.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book that I received from Netgalley; however, the opinions are my own and I did not receive any compensation for my review.

The Wishing Quilt is a lovely anthology written by Jodi Thomas, Patience Griffin and Lori Wilde. My favorite story in this anthology was The Secret Wish by Jodi Thomas. I liked the small town ambiance, yet the storyline was filled with lots of action and suspense. The main couple was so sweet together. I was very surprised when I found out who the stranger in the quilt shop was. I was thrilled with the surprise at the end of the story.
