Having not read the first book in this series I can say it was still such a fun easy to follow read.
A romance book that covers more than one couple and generation. I liked the romance but I really loved the healing stories intertwined from different forms of abuse and neglect the characters had suffered. They over came different types of loss to show love can overcome it all!
I always appreciate a good romance book without the sexy scenes and this book was perfect. It focused on the relationships that came from friendship over sex.
While the story takes place at Christmas time it's not a Christmas story it would be a great read for anytime of year.
I enjoyed this read from cover to cover, especially the beginning of each chapter with the short blub of the pending marriage of Ruby and Harry (a long time in the making)
I enjoyed the mix of characters and their life events, written with true feeling and compassion.
I found this book easy to read and was watching the romance developing between Scott and Olivia. I even think I cheered at the end, I know I cried.
Love and happiness can happen at any age, something to think about! A must read for any age!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All Thoughts and opinions are my own. This is heart breaking and heartwarming story, with low level of steam. The book is full of hope love wisdom and understanding. I loved that one main people getting married was a grandmother. This would make a great movie. I could not put it down.
A vivid story from heartbreaking beginnings to a heartwarming end. Olivia accepts her reality and is
finally ready to move on after being raised in a dysfunctional family and being emotionally abused by her ex-
husband. She makes a decision to heal, discovers her new life. and finds happiness.
An atmospheric book, full of wisdom and hope. I found it hard to put down..

I received this book from net galley and the publisher as an ARC. Thank you! All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Loved this book. Ruby is getting married to the love of her life decades after they had to split. Her granddaughter Olivia is having a hard time after a divorce and her contractor left her halfway through to finishing her dance studio. In steps Scott.
I really enjoyed this book. It is a continuation of Victoria James's Christmas House series.
Olivia is a likeable, strong character with a lot of heart.
Victoria's writing is amazing and it kept me hooked throughout the book.
This is a lovely romance story (brother's best friend type) with a lot of heart. A lovely holiday read.
I received an ARC of, A Christmas House Wedding, by Victoria James. I really enjoyed Olivia, her mother not so much. This is a lovely Christmas read.
Entertaining story about family ties, love and the pain of failed relationships, both romantic and familial.
Grandma Ruby is marrying her one true love and her family is helping to plan the wedding. Her two granddaughters were mostly raised by her and love her very much. The drama surrounding the wedding is astonishing and I loved it.
It was a bit strange reading this one on an Easter bank holiday sitting in the sunshine…. Packed with Christmas cheer, this “heartwarming holiday romance” (Jenny Hale, on The Christmas House) will have you believing in the magic of the season. An enjoyable festive read.
A really nice story about family, new beginnings and second chances. I thought Victoria James brought a real level of vulnerability to her characters as the story progressed. I really enjoyed the different generations in the story & how family showed up for the characters in unconventional ways.
The story is about Olivia who has moved in with her Grandma Ruby's after a tough divorce. As Olivia ventures into creating a new life for her and her toddler daughter, she runs into challenges completing a renovation for a new business she's determined to start. Her sister's husband best friend, Scott enters the picture, initially as a romantic set up that Olivia isn't interested in, but ends up bailing her out of her construction woes. Both Olivia and Scott face past wounds that surface as they spend more time together & fall for each other. Their relationship with each other turns out to be something new, fresh and in many ways healthier from their previous relationships. Throughout the story, you learn more about Grandma Ruby's story and that vulnerability in new relationships are difficult at any age.
A feel good story that had me smiling and sometimes in tears, in good ways.
I loved this book. There were so many parts to this, and I found it quite wonderful. The main couple , Olivia and Scott were great as they connected and the other background couples could have had a story of their own
What a fantastic book! This my first book by this author and I hope many more. The story had me lost in the book until I finished. I didn't want it to end! Loved the lovely characters. I would highly recommend this book!
This story is a continuation of Victoria James's 'A Christmas House'. In the first installment we meet Ruby Harris, grandmother to both Charlotte and Olivia. Ruby has had a difficult and lonely life. She raised both her granddaughters when her daughter left them on her doorstep. Throughout it all she learned to give to those less fortunate than herself. As such, every Christmas, Ruby opens her door to those in need of a place to be for dinner. At the end of the first book a long lost love showed up on her door step Christmas Day. Now her and Harry are getting engaged to be married on Christmas Eve.
Olivia struggled with the abandonment by both her father and then her mother. She never developed her self-worth. Her ex-husband, Will, only perpetuated her issues by being mentally and emotionally abusive. To compound issues he cheated on her with so many different women. Once Olivia gave birth to her daughter Dawn she realized she needed to leave her current situation or run the risk of her daughter thinking it was alright for a man to mistreat a woman. A year later Olivia decides to use the settlement money from her divorce to purchase and renovate an old warehouse and turn it into a dance studio. The problem is her contractor has ditched on her. In steps local contractor Scott. He is best friend to Olivia's brother-in-law Wyatt. Olivia feels drawn to Scott but is afraid to let him get close, it doesn't help that Charlotte and Wyatt both are playing match maker with the couple. Her past with Will and her father makes it difficult for Olivia to open up and trust any man. Can Olivia learn to accept herself as she is, find value in the person she has become, and open up to a new relationship?
Victoria James writes truly amazing, heart warming, happily ever after stories. If you are looking for a romance that contains sexual encounters and/or love scenes you will not find them in her books but this by no means leaves the romance and intensity between the couples her stories lacking. James understands the value of a slow build between a couple using growth of character. In the first story we learn enough about Olivia to feel for the deeply abused woman and her beautiful daughter. In this book we find out that Scott has his own demons he has battled. Over the years he has had time to overcome them, he has built a nice life for himself and his daughter. His past struggles and who he is now makes him a relatable character. Ruby and Harry's current love story is scattered throughout the book. It is wonderful for both Ruby and Olivia to finally get their happily ever afters. This story is well written, the cover is gorgeous, and the characters are real and relatable. I fully recommend this book as well as any other book by Victoria James.
