I made the mistake in not starting this series from the start. However, that didn't spoil my enjoyment of Lying Beside You. Great combination of character , Cyprus and Evie. There was tense and menacing undertones throughout the book.

Absolutely brilliant! Robotham brings us another triumph in an already stellar series. He masterfully weaves suspense and emotion, pulling me into the lives of these richly developed characters once again. The twists are clever, the pacing flawless, and the psychological depth truly gripping.
This series just keeps getting better, a definite 5 stars from me!

Wowee, what a fantastic read. A real nail biter of a read that I could not put down. Super talented author!

Lying Beside You is the 3rd book in the brilliant Cyrus Haven series which features two absolutely fascinating main characters.
Cyrus Haven older brother Elias brutally murdered their parents and younger twin sisters over 20 years ago and has been incarcerated in a high security hospital ever since his violent killing spree. Over the past 20 years Cyrus has managed to move on with his life by working as a forensic psychologist alongside the police in some truly horrific cases.
Evie Cormac is now 21 years old. She has a very dark and disturbing past, having been discovered at the age of 12 hidden in a secret room in the aftermath of a terrible crime. The police were unable to identify her and there were no DNA matches so she was moved to a secure children’s home for 6 years which is where she met Cyrus who was assigned to her case.
Evie is troubled and a compulsive liar which is ironic as she has a very unique gift of being able to tell if anyone is lying. This third book follows on approximately 12 months after When She Was Good ends.
Life for Cyrus and Evie is still a “work in progress” with Cyrus trying to ensure Evie’s future by encouraging an education and a job, however Evie would rather not work or learn and is happiest volunteering at the local animal shelter. But it’s the upcoming possibility of Elias’ release from the secure hospital into Cyrus’ home that starts to cause friction and concern between them.
As well as their personal issues, Cyrus is now involved in the murder and abduction of a local woman and when another woman goes missing, Evie is the last person to see her alive.
This is a brilliant series which I highly recommend as it offers the reader so much more than the usual police procedural thrillers. If you haven’t started the series yet, then do yourself a huge favour and download books 1 and 2 now as you are in for a treat.

A very late review due to health reasons. But my word, was it worth the wait! Absolutely loved this book. This is the first one I have read, I was tempted to pause, read the others and come back, but I just couldn’t put it down.
I love the characters, their own ways and stories. I cant wait to read more.
Absolute stellar book

Unfortunately I have not been able to connect with this book and so after multiple attempts I have had to mark as dnf.

Thank you to NetGalley and Little Brown Group UK- Sphere for the arc of this book by Michael Robotham.
5 stars another sensational book by Michael. Gripping, thrilling and made me want more as book went on highly recommend

Brilliant, absolutely brilliant.
Another fantastic book by Michael.
Glad to learn about Cyrus and his mysterious brother.
When's the next one! .

I requested this last year not realizing that it was part of a series, and although it could be read as a standalone, I feel that you need to have read the first two to really understand the characters.
Now after devouring the first two in this series I finally came back to this.
This novel center's on Cyrus, Evie and Elias who is being released and coming to live with them. In fact for me it was so focused on the relationships between the three that at times I was not sure about the missing women. The plot keeps revolving round them but it does not catch the connection until after half way through and its then that the novel really picks up.
The clues are there, You just need to pay attention to them.
We get to know Evie and Cyrus better, and we have Elias to add to the dynamics. The brother who murdered the rest of the family and has done his time. Its a testament to the writing that we become engaged in everyone and still keep track of everything and everyone else in the novel.
The thee novels are in this series are all worthwhile reading, and thank you to Netgalley and the publisher by approving me for this one which in turn introduced me to the first two.
I can't wait until the next installment.

This was a great book which I read in no time, even tried to sneak it to the restaurant with me 😂 easy to get into and very enjoyable!

Another fantastic book by Michael Robotham! Thrilled to learn about Cyrus and his mysterious brother. Eagerly awaiting the next title.

What I like about Robotham's books are the no-nonsense straightforward prose, and totally credible dialogue. Even, who Cyrus took in a year ago, has flaws but she's smart .. and to hunt a missing girl Cyrus and his police colleague Lenny need all the help they caN get. Enjoyable and Professional I was really persuaded throughout .. ending was surprising and satisfying. I look forward to another story with these people.

I love this author read all of his books to date he is one of my auto buy authors.
This is Book three of the Cyrus Haven series.
When you start his books you open the first page and just jump right in and can not stop reading till the book spites you out.
Looking forward to the next Cyrus Haven book.

Lying Beside You is the third book in the series featuring Cyrus Haven and Evie Ward. Same as with the previous two novels this one too has a great, gripping storyline. Michael Robotham is an amazing writer and a master of his craft. I can’t wait for the next installment in this series.
Thank you to the author, publisher and Netgalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Whilst I ramble incoherently here, I have to add that I’m really unsure how a written review will do this book justice. Please just trust me when I say – THIS IS A MUST READ.

First off... the cover! The colours straight away grabbed my attention and that was before even seeing it was someone's hair.. who doesn't love a cover that makes you stop in your tracks?
Now whilst this is the third book in the Cyrus Haven series, it's the first one I have read. I found it super easy to get to grips with and wasn't at all thwarted by not reading the first two books.
Cyrus Haven is a Forensic Psychologist and Criminal Profiler who works and lives with his prodigy Evie Cormac.
Evie is a 21 year old troubled soul who has suffered unspeakable trauma and is still struggling to find her place in the world but with Cyrus's guidance she is finally finding her way step by step.
Twenty years ago Cyrus's brother Elias was sent to a psychiatric hospital after killing their parents and twin sisters, after the voices told him to.
On his release he is taken in by Cyrus who now has to learn to live with his brothers return which he is struggling with.
The narrative switches between Cyrus and Evie which flowed brilliantly. Evie is a girl to be reckoned with and her dark humour has me laughing out loud at points.
The story is complex with Cyrus investigating the murder of a disabled man who's daughter has also gone missing. Later another woman is kidnapped... are these cases all related in some way??
This is a dark, compelling, compulsive read that had me guessing the whole way through. A total page turner thatbinfound completely unputdownable.
Huge thanks to netgalley and Little Brown Book Group UK for the ARC.

This is the first book I read in the series. I thoroughly enjoyed it and there were plenty of twists and turns! I will definitely catch up on the other books!
Thank you to Michael Robotham and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book.

Wow what a fantastic book with twists and turns all over the place such a good book I would definitely recommend it

I hadn’t read the others so I caught up first. This was a thrilling read with many twists and turns. Thank you 😊

Lying Beside You is another fantastic thriller from Michael Robotham and the third in a series featuring Cyrus Haven and Evie Cormac.
Cyrus is a forensic psychologist working with the police to help get into the minds of the most twisted criminals. In this book Cyrus’s brother Elias is about to be released from a secure unit after murdering his parents and twin sisters when he was a teenager. Cyrus is also helping the police after a woman is found murdered, tied up and with her head shaved.
Evie is still struggling to find her way in the world despite having an extraordinary talent of knowing when someone is lying.
I was completely gripped by this book and would recommend starting with the first book if you haven’t already read it. This book would work as a stand alone novel but why miss out on two other amazing books?
