Overall, I enjoyed the romance between Jade and Maverick. Both had emotional and personal issues to overcome in order to become a strong couple. I loved that the books in this series tend to be pretty short and fast paced but that said, this one felt longer. A part of this is that we kept getting Jade's point of view and we only got Mav's POV a few times (or so it felt). That made the book feel a little unbalanced. Also, the coupling generally felt a little superficial in that their emotional connection didn't feel as deep as the other books. However, overall, I enjoyed this next installment in the series.
The Adventures in Love Series is everything I love in a series. Each story stands on its own. I of course have a favorite and it is absolutely Reckless!
I adored Jade so much! This series needed an feisty heroine who did not need to be saved or cared for but 100% deserved it. We first meet Jade in book 1 of the series, she is Cybil’s best friend, and she needs a fresh start. She misses her best friend but also needs to escape her clasped life. Jade is not looking for a relationship, instead she is focused on rebuilding alife she can be proud of.
Maverick was the good guy best friend in book 1. We see his nice guy, but also his broody nature in book 2. I knew he had a reasons for all the broodiness but also the mask of always the good-natured flirt. His back story really brings lots of feels and understanding to why he wears the mask but also keeps even his friends at a distance.
Both these characters bring some big feels. Jade was so significant in her worries, her joy, her heartache, her insecurities, and her love.
Jade did not allow the ruins of her old life to steal her dreams. She was willing to put in the work and start over. Maverick was drawn to Jade, and he was honest with her, and I respect him so much for that, I wanted to kick him, but respect. This story had unexpected emotions and deep feels I was not prepared for, but this is why I will always come back to any story that Aurora Rose Reynolds writes.
This series is everything that is great about romance. Friends loving each other, shenanigans and characters that bring some big feels. The mutual acceptance and support of each other is something that ARR does so well. Adventures is Love is the type of story you will come back to over and over hoping for more time with them.
If someone asks me for a relaxing and chilling love story, I would recommend this one.
The characters are well-developed. Each has their own insecurities and problems they faced, and I found them relatable in that manner.
The plot was a bit underwhelming with everything seems so simple and great, and only peppered with a few tense moments, this book delivers less drama compared to other emotional love stories. It was okay for me, as I am a fan of plain and simple romance book, but for some people especially those who eat highly emotional dramas slash angsty romance, this book is not for them.
With that, I would love to mention that this book ticked all the boxes I want to see in a romance book, it's just the conclusion is a bit too easy and fell a bit flat in my view. That being said, I would love to see more of the author's other books as I could see myself enjoying her writing while I binged-read this one.
Personal rating: 3.75/5
Reckless is the third novel in Auroa Rose Reynolds Adventures in Love series and it features Maverick and Jade.
After Jade‘s life imploded in her hometown she decides to move and start over in the town her best friend found her love.
I really enjoyed Maverick and Jade‘s story! I expected it to be a little more slow burn/angsty and I think it is the weakest of the three books but I still liked both characters. Their story was light and didn‘t have much drama at all which I enjoyed.
Reckless is the perfect book to cleanse your palette!
4.5⭐️
Jade moves to Oregon. She has lived a couple of bad experiences and she needs to be near her best friend, Cybil, and start a new chapter in her life.
But she didn't expect to meet Maverick, one of Cybil's husband's friends.
And they do try to stay away from each other but that seems impossible as the attraction between them is so strong.
I enjoyed this book a lot. Both characters are just ideal for each other. And their group of friends made me regret not having read the previous books. Not because I got lost but because their love stories must have been as good as this one.
Sweet story, it will leave you with a smile in your face.
After a few bad choices she made she is moving to Montana to be closer to her best friend . While she is starting over she needs a job and house she spent timewith the best friend of her friends husband . He is there for her when she needs him . After a while they can 't deny their feelings but keep their relationship secret . She is worry that in the end she will be hurt . When they talk about dreams they desagree about something important . Will one of them change their mind ?
I received this book from net galley and the publisher as an ARC. Thank you! All thoughts and opinions are my own.
This was such a sweet read, a trademark of how great this author is at writing feel good romances.
Jade moves to town to start over and be close to her bestie, Cybil . There she meets Maverick again and the attraction is really instant. But there are bumps in the road!
Maverick was my fave (whenever is a hot man not my fave?!!)
Loved the name of their shop, loved the house, loved the writing and the story so, in short, loved it all!
I haven't read the others in this series and now I really want to!
ARR keeps doing the romance genre right! Maverick and Jade were written so well. Two people cautious with their feeling and relationships from past experiences who are instantly drawn to each other. Their romance was paced so well from the first true connection to how everything played out to their HEA. I also always love getting to read on previous couples from the series and see where they're ended up and how things are going for them. Easily can get lost in this group of loves and can't wait for even more reads from ARR!
"She's become my home, a place I feel safe, wanted and loved."
This was my first Aurora Rose Reynolds book! Before I go into my thoughts, let me set the stage a little...
This story follows Jade, whose life has sort of imploded. Her business failed and her ex screwed her over, so she bravely decides to move to a new state to start over. Jade's childhood best friend, Cybil, encouraged her to move into their guest house in the hopes that Jade will find what she was able to find - true love and a home.
Enter Maverick. Maverick has had a tough childhood and has pretty much written off the whole love and marriage thing. Until he meets Jade. And so begins their romance! Of course, they try to keep everything a secret from their friends for a while... but ya'll know how that goes!
Honestly, this book took me a little while to get into. It can definitely be read as a standalone, but I feel like I would have appreciated it better if I read the first two books in the series first. So that would be my recommendation to anyone looking to start this book!
And even though this was a slower read for me, it was all worth it for that epilogue!!! Sooo darn sweet. I don't know if an epilogue gets better than that.
Read if you like:
+ small town romance
+ found family
+ friends to lovers
+ spicy scenes
Another cute romance from Aurora Rose Reynolds! I’ve enjoyed this sweet series. They’re all low on conflict and agnst, but high on swoons. If Hallmark movies had sex, these would be it!
Like the books before it, Reckless is about the new girl in town, falling for one of the owners of a local adventure lodge. Jade has come to town to start over, with the help of her best friend Cybil (the heroine from Rushed). Circumstances throw her together with Maverick, the last remaining bachelor of the friend group and the two quickly start a relationship, but keep in on the down low in order to not upset the vibes.
This one actually did have a conflict, unlike the first two which were pretty much smooth sailing. Maverick did not want kids, and Jade does, so the two part ways. Maverick’s sister talks him into wanting kids after all which really bugged me. People don’t have to want kids, they’re not fooling themselves or secretly scared. Honestly this ruined what was an otherwise pleasant read by forcing it into a heteronormative cliche.
Overall though it was short, sweet, and easy reading! A decent ending to a pleasant series.
Love love loved this book! So when I first got this arc , naturally I had to go back and read the first 2 again ! Maverick’s book I think was my favorite! I feel like this story was a slow
Burn … spoiler alert
Honest I thought the book would be about the girl Oakley from book 2 , so I was estatic jade was the main female character. The chemistry between the two from the first chapter kept me turning the pages . I couldn’t put this book down , finishing it within 24 hrs . It’s a perfect finish to the series .
Thank you NetGalley and Aurora Rose Reynolds for my ARC
Aurora Rose Reynolds is a new to me author and I started her books with this series. 𝗥𝗘𝗖𝗞𝗟𝗘𝗦𝗦 is the third book in Adventures In Love and was a quick and easy, sexy and sweet, romance read.
I went into this book with high expectations. Getting to know Maverick in the previous books whet my appetite for the quiet man. He is a sexy grump and there are legitimate reasons for why he is the way he is. Enter Jade. A beautiful mess of a woman who seems to live under a perpetual black rain cloud. Moving in with her best friend and opening a new business together has things looking up in her world. Enter Maverick.
Maverick and Jade were not looking for love but love found them, bit them in the *ss and gave them something to fight for. I enjoyed watching them fall in love and adored their happily ever after. I’m giving 𝗥𝗘𝗖𝗞𝗟𝗘𝗦𝗦 the judy.ann.loves.books stamp of approval, TBR and Enjoy!
An overall good book. I had difficulty getting into it at the beginning but eventually got into it. Jade and Maverick are easy to follow even without reading the previous books. Loved it.
I wasn't far into reading Reckless before I realized this was going to be a wonderful story. I have to confess that I hadn't read the first two books (I must have been living under a rock!!) and yet I was never lost. I was never confused. The story flowed so well. This is a sign of an amazing writer.
Reckless is a very realistic story. There was a lot more drama that might happen in the real world, but I could I identify the situations. The characters were believable. Their struggles were those others have dealt with. Jade has been given a raw deal.
After having her business ruined, and Jade's so called boyfriend taking her money, she is about done. She has little left, motivating her to join her sudo sister, Cybil, in Montana. So desperate for a new beginning; she drives through a blizzard. I had to wonder if this was a sign of doom and gloom to come. Would she get her new beginning? Would she crash and burn? Either was a possiblity.
It was a joy watching Jade pick up the pieces. She is leery of relationships. She wants to protect herself. She fears a relationship with Maverick, a close friend of Cybil's husband. If it goes wrong, she could destroy her new life. Little does she know that Maverick is screwed up as well.
The epilogue was the perfect ending to Reckless. I was able to close the book with a feeling of giddiness. I was reminded that with patience you can have your happily ever after.
Sweet story.
No intimate scenes other than the Hero and heroine.
Not insta, but push and pull from both.
HEA.
Epilogue.
I really enjoyed this book by Aurora Rose Reynolds. It was very well done and would definitely recommend this book to anyone.
The final book of the series brings us Maverick's story. He knows Jade but a snow storm throws them together and it changes their relationship forever.
Sweet read and we get to see all the other couples as well. Loved Jades attitude and personality. Both main characters had a moment of thought about what being together may mean to their friends and overall friendship. Eventually the heart wins out.
Sweet, short read in a beautiful setting with interesting characters. I enjoyed the whole series!
Both Maverick and Jade have relationship hang ups that take them awhile to overcome. I felt the build up to the start of their relationship took longer than was needed but once together, the book flowed nicely. I would’ve like to have a little more of the chapter with Maverick and his sister, Lizzy, when she comes to talk some sense into him. As always loved the epilogues. Great happy ending for the two best friends Jade and Cybill.
Jade’s life has hit a major speed bump when she decides a move to Montana and start over near her best friend but the snow storm that greets her arrival to her new home state is proving a quick restart is not going to be happening. Luckily Maverick, one of the best friends of Jade’s best friend’s husband ( a little convoluted but bear with me) arrives to save the day, literally, before Jade is about to freeze to death. As part of the same group of friends Jade and Maverick constantly bump into each other and their heat is undeniable but they both have relationship issues ( cue the worst date in history for Jade) and neither wants to rock the boat. Luckily they both decided to give in to temptation and this sweet romance blooms into a great relationship but there is no easy street in the game of love and their combined pasts are set up to defeat them before they can even start. This is the third book in this series involving this group of friends and a nice quick and sweet (soft) romance with a happily ever after moment, so don’t worry. You don’t need to read the previous books in the series to enjoy this one, but I recommend that that you do as this author consistently provides great reads. 5 stars. I voluntarily read and reviewed an arc copy of this book. All thoughts an opinions are my own.
I received a copy of the book from Net Valley and Montlake Publishing in exchange for a voluntary and honest review. My opinions are my own and not solicited in any way.
Reckless by Aurora Rose Reynolds
This is the third book in the authors Adventures in Love series I didn't read the previous books and felt that this was great as a stand alone read. I have read the authors short story in an anthology so I have to say this book was interesting with Jade and Maverick's story. They're the focal point with the two previous couples playing a huge part in the ending. Jade is running scared after her former boyfriend conned her out of her nest egg which made her business go under so she decides to go to Montana to start over. I give the book a 4.6 star rating and really enjoyed reading it.
Maverick isn't looking for a long time relationship so what starts out as casual makes Jade question whether she wants to try again especially since she doesn't have a great track record with boyfriends and wants a family which is more than Maverick wants right now.
When an offer to open a bookstore again happens as well as her current job with the local coffee shop will she take a chance opening in a new place that needs a good bookstore? With Cybil's artist friends displaying their creations she knows that coming to Montana has been the best thing yet. Will Maverick change his mind and see that their love is forever? It may take all of the guys to convince him to take the chance on Jade.
