The story has laughs, secrets, pain, and heartbreak.
The below are part of this series if you want to read those books(s) first
Rushed (Adventures in Love #1)
Risky (Adventures in Love #2)
This is Jade and Maverick's story. Jade is new to town. She lost her business and her relationship. So she is starting over in a new town. She meets Maverick and is drawn to him but knows that he is not the type of man she needs. But the pull that they are both fighting is just too hard to ignore. He was over relationships that is until she came along. Can he really open himself up her? Cant they build a future together?
I highly recommend this book.
When Jade’s life is thrown into turmoil both personally and professionally she needs a fresh start and there is nowhere better than Montana where she can be close to her best friend. Based on the decisions she has made in the past when it comes to the men she allows in her life she isn’t looking for love or a relationship but after Maverick comes to her rescue she thinks he might just be the exception to the rule.
Due to his past Maverick never believed that love and family would be part of his future however he had never met anyone like Jade. He is drawn to her in a way he never expected as she brings out all the protective tendencies he didn’t know he had and now he can’t imagine a future without her.
Although neither Jade nor Maverick were looking for love they didn’t back away from it either. They had a few challenges to overcome but with the support of their friends there was never any doubt that they belonged together.
This was a great witty story with a lot of back and forth banter that kept you on your toes. I like the angst that gave the story some depth and the whole strangers passing in the night vibe. This one is a low drama story that just hits the right feels!
Maverick and Jade have friends in the same friend group. They knew each other but not well. When her business and relationship go south she decides to move near her best friend. Maverick and Jade have a instant connection and grown on their friendship. The more time they spend together the stronger their connection grows. They both need to unpack their emotional baggage before they can have a happily ever after ending. This was a cute quick read with fun characters. Their was the perfect combination of drama and laugh out loud banter. I look forward to reading more books by this author.
Their relationship is a sweet slow build starting at a friendship. They had great banter and it was wonderful seeing all the other characters from the other books. This is definitely worth the read. The whole series is Wonderful
I love this series so much and this one did not disappoint. Aurora Rose Reynolds is an auto buy for me and she always will be. 5 Stars.
Not my first read by the author. I love ANYTHING AURORA huge mega fan here and honored to have already had the chance to read this beauty beforehand. This ending to the series is exactly what I needed! I was wondering how Maverick’s story would end and I am so glad he got paired up with a strong heroine. Maverick is the posterchild for grumpy and standoff-ish for a hero. But little secret, the man has a heart of gold and courage of a lion. LOVED him so much, and the heroine matched his energy and level so it was amazing to watch them come together.
This has a enemy but also friends-to romance style because we have the hero who is grumpy and standoff-ish but something about their chemistry creeps up on you almost. Jade is best friends with Cybil who is heroine from book #2 and aside from many reasons Jade is moving to Montana the main one is to start over again. When she gets stranded in the snow on a truck stop, things turn well cold and a knight in shinning armor comes to rescue her…or more a grumpy huge good looking man.

This was an ok romance if you are looking for something quick, easy and mindless, however it's not of the calibre I would expect from such a successful, experienced author. I think my favourite thing about the book was Cybil, who is the best friend. I felt like she had the strongest character and was the most likeable.
The writing was just not good. Perhaps it went through further revisions before publication, but the version I read felt incomplete. The scenes jumped around erratically, avoiding any opportunity to have a sweet moment between Jade and Maverick. Just as I thought they would have a cute moment together, the scene would end and we'd get a time jump to ;later in the day, next day or even several days. It was really jarring and made it feel like I was missing part of the story. It means I couldn't get invested in their relationship and didn't feel much chemistry. The sex scenes also suffered from this.
There was also a very heavy skew towards Jade, when it came to the POVs of the chapters. I kept waiting to hear Maverick's thoughts but we got so few chapters from him it felt almost pointless. There was clearly so much going on for him.- and arguably a more interesting journey than Jade's - and yet we don't get to see any of it, instead we find it all out secondhand and again it feels rushed. His character felt very two-dimensional because of this.
I also felt like the book is missold. It is labeled as a standalone romance from a series that can be read independently to the other books. As someone new to this author and series, I can tell you this is completely false. Maverick's character had very clearly been established in previous books, and so the author felt no need to give him any introduction or backstory. The relationships between the characters was also clearly established but not explained to newcomers. Now if this book had been labelled as a series continuation, I would have no complaints, but it was labelled as a standalone which it certainly isn't. I have read many other books with this claim out of their series sequence and not experienced this issue, so I can only blame the writing here.
Ultimately I think this book has great potential but felt incomplete and it needed a lot more work. I felt like I was reading a first draft with incomplete scenes, not a book close to publication sadly.
I love this series so much. I feel like I’m
Diving into a world with friends that I never want to leave. Aurora Rose Reynolds continues to capture my heart.
Reckless was the first book from this series that I read.
I am a huge Aurora Rose Reynolds fan, but for some reason I hadn't read any of her Adventures in Love series. When I saw it available for review in Netgalley I decided to read this book and I LOVED IT! I loved it so much that I went and read every other book on the series, and let me tell you, it didn't disappoint.
Reckless tells us the story of Jade and Maverick. Jade is in a bad time in her life, so she decides to move to be closer to her best friend/sister Cybil. When she is moving, she gets caught in a snow storm and is saved by Maverick. From there. they start to get close, first as friends and then more.
I loved how their relationship progressed. They were really cute together and I loved discovering more about theirs past. But for me the best part is the friendship between the main characters and their group of friends. They help and lift each other up, which I found very conforting and heartwarming.
I won't go into detail about what goes on in the book because I think everyone should experience it first hand.
I couldn't reccomend it enough and I would actually reccomend you to read the series by order. Don't be like me and ignore this series, it's really good and if you read it by order you will get to know the characters better, which will make the reading experience even better.

I absolutely loved Reckless! It was sweet, romantic, spicy, and so cute. I loved the characters and the writing. Maverick was everything!! His chemistry with Jade was so 🔥. The spicy scenes were perfectly written and the friendship between all the characters made me so happy. This was a really good, small town, romance!

Reckless follows Jade, Cybil's best friend from book one in the Adventures in Love series, who moves to Montana for a fresh start. She just so happens to fall in love with Maverick in the process.
Unfortunately, Reckless didn’t quite meet my expectations, after really enjoying book two. I understand going into a short book that things will inevitably move quickly, but for me, Jade and Maverick’s relationship felt rushed and underdeveloped. I would have loved a little bit more of a slow burn, a little bit more tension and a little bit more romance outside of the bedroom.
I also wasn’t a massive fan of Maverick’s character. I felt we got to know him more in the previous books than the one actually centred on his character! He should have been honest with Jade from the beginning and I couldn't quite believe that his feelings did a 180 from just one quick conversation with his sister. Once again, it was just unrealistic. Finally, someone needed to do more grovelling... Jade forgave him too easily.
Overall, if you’re like me and feel the need to complete book series, Reckless is a short read/listen. However, I, unfortunately, don’t know if I’d otherwise recommend it.
If you like low drama one sit read romances then Reckless is the book for you! I was drawn into this story immediately! I loved Maverick and Jade! I didn’t want this book to end!!! I usually feel this way with ARR books!!! That epilogue!! I just want another full book starting where the epilogue left off!! Not that it is needed but because I selfishly wasn’t ready to let these characters go! I loved this world!!! Speaking of characters, this is a true standalone in the series. You do get characters from the past books, but I don’t feel like that takes away from anyone’s storyline. With that said I highly recommend Reckless and the other books in this series!!
Highly entertaining, emotionally thrilling roller-coaster adventure filled with interesting charters and landscape, desire and passion. An edge of your seat action packed and heart racing journey from beginning to end.
Yes! Yes! Yes! I’m over the moon and head over heels in love with this series Aurora Rose Reynolds has created! I can’t get enough of these wild boys and their leading ladies! If you’re looking for the famous ARR BOOM, don’t hesitate to pick up this book, and overall, this series! I’ve been waiting for Maverick! Now it’s his turn to fall head over boots in love with his leading lady, and let me tell you all… this may just be the swooniest novel of the series.
Reckless is the third book in Aurora Rose Reynolds’ Adventures in Love series. This swoony romance is told from both Maverick and Jade’s point of view.
Having just had her book shop dreams implode around her, Jade decides to pack up her things and move closer to her best friend, Cybil. Being closer to her best friend, who is like a sister, and her niece is what she needs now more than anything. Her goals are to get a job. She doesn’t bargain for Cybil making her an offer she can’t refuse. A partnership between the two of them and opening a bookshop right in the sleepy little town. Jade’s dreams are about to come true for a second time…. Hopefully this time isn’t like the last. I loved everything about Jade. From her independence to her vulnerability this woman was everything. Along the way, she dated her fair share of douche canoes so I couldn’t blame her when she wanted to keep her and Maverick’s relationship quiet and just feel things out. The fear of the unknown can be a real bitch sometimes.
Maverick hasn’t had the easiest life growing up. He’s okay living the bachelor lifestyle, but as he looks around at his best friends settling down, he can’t help but wonder if there is more to life. When Jade steps into the picture, he knows there is definitely more to life. And when he can’t erase her from his mind, he decides to do something drastic. He decides to date her. Oh Maverick, this sweet man. I legit swooned throughout this whole damn novel.
The friendship level in this novel was my favorite aspect. I loved how close this group was. They had the kind of friendship where if someone was in trouble, the whole damn group would show up to rescue them. Honestly, I couldn’t wipe the smile from my face! So it should be known, half of Reckless I read while the last half I listened to the audio book while painting my barn. And believe me when I say, the folks who drove by on the road must have thought I was really happy to be painting. I’m telling you, the smiles this book took from me were huge! I loved every word, and I loved every moment!
Now onto the audiobook portion of my review. This is the first time I actually synced an audio book up with my kindle. I honestly loved the interpretation these narrators gave. I’ll definitely be considering audio books when doing outdoors projects.
Overall, I loved the Adventures In Love Series by Aurora Rose Reynolds. But I especially loved Maverick and Jade’s story. My heart still feels as light as it did yesterday. And that epic happily ever after. For a minute it was touch and go, and I was scared ARR was going to let me down. But then BOOOOOM! The magic happened. So yes, I recommend this one to everyone looking for a swoony small town romance with fresh start vibes and a lot of heart and heat. Definitely pick this one up if that sounds like it’s your type of read. You won’t regret it
Yay! After Tanner (in Rushed) and Blake (in Risky) it is now Maverick who finds his HEA. We had already met Maverick in the first two parts of the Adventures in Love series. Because Tanner, Blake and Maverick are the co-owners of the wilderness retreat service they offer to customers.
In Risky, we had already seen that Mav sometimes disappeared for a few days at a time. In Reckless we learn why. We meet Jade, one of Cybil’s best friends, who needs a fresh start after being screwed over by her ex and after losing her job and her home. When stranded in a blizzard, Cybil and Tanner ask Maverick to save Jade. When they meet, there is some insta-attraction, but both are currently not looking for a relationship.
But of course, this is an Aurora story. So there will be some alpha male logic. Wonderful, as usual. Four out of five stars from me and special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.
I think this has to be my favourite of the three books. Loved the main characters and loved the connection they have too. Also love seeing all the others too.
I really enjoyed Jade and Maverick's story and loved the ending! Reckless was the perfect ending to this series.
I fancy a good romance in the summer!
Reckless is great! Sparks everywhere, full of emotions, love, friendship, following dreams - this book is everything I was looking for! And not only for a summer.
Aurora Rose Reynolds is excellent and I immediately buy all her stories. I adore a quick pace, nice handsome man and adventures that makes her books real page-turnes!
Great read, awesome characters and love I will be dreaming about for many nights ;)
4.5 stars Once again Aurora has written a heartwarming story of a woman who is trying to find herself again after falling on hard times. Jade lost her bookstore as well as the boyfriend who never deserved her anyway. Jade decides to start over again, moving to a small town in Montana where her best friend Cybil has moved to. The trip starts out rather rocky when a snowstorm hits at the end of her drive, Maverick (Cybil's husband's friend) comes to Jades rescue. While these two have met in the past, something changes when he basically comes and rescues her; Jade is forced to stay with him overnight. There is just something so easy for the two of them, when essentially, they are strangers. Now don't get me wrong, this is not a story of the white knight riding in and saving the lost heroine and riding off into the sunset. Jade now has the hard part of rebuilding her life. Very quickly, this town befriends Jade. Her & Cybil open their own store together, along with other woman in the area. Jade is finally setting herself back, but this time she has the guy sneaks up on herm giving her all emotions and feels she could want until he can't give her the one thing she wants, forever. Jade and Maverick both have pasts to overcome, but now that their paths have crossed, they need to decide if their love is enough to move past it all. Aurora did an amazing job writing this book of friendship, love and finding oneself again.
