This story was a sweet romance. Nell finally was spurred to take some action on her longtime crush Grant. The book made me laugh at some of the characters antics. It's a fast easy read with a good happily ever after ending. I'm looking forward to the stories of Nell's sisters. I think they will be just as fun. I received an advance copy from NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I was surprised with storyline, pleasantly surprised.
Enjoyed very much.
Three sisters, one of them has to marry, to save business, they decide that the one who is not engaged by the end of 30 days, will be the one to marry and save family.
First Bride to Fall is a clean, contemporary romance that will grab your attention from the beginning. It is a quick read, filled with heartwarming moments and humor.
While the story sounds like it will be predictable, and in places, it is, there were several little twists toward the middle that kept the story going.
Nell was described as shy but portrayed herself as anything but in her quest to win Grant's heart. I wasn't a fan of her exaggerations nor withholding the complete truth to Grant. Grant wasn't perfect either, with the way he handled the information he learned about Nell.
This is an "insta" love story with lots of miscommunication (a pet peeve of mine) and several instances where you will need to remind yourself you are reading a fiction book.
Overall, I enjoyed this one and look forward to more in this series!
Thank you to Net Galley and the Publisher for the opportunity to read this book. I was not required to provide a favorable review. All thoughts and opinions are entirely my own.
3.5/5 stars
Once I read the blurb for this book I new that I had to read it. I was so right because this was such a cute and fun read. The story line is full of laugh out loud moments, moments that will make you frustrated and even a few sad moments. I picked up the book and the story just drew me in. The characters were well written and I loved all the sisters. It is hard to believe, " that it all started with a bet". I am really looking forward to reading the next book. Thanks NetGalley. I voluntarily reviewed this book in exchange for an honest review.
First Bride to Fall by Ginny Baird is the first book in a three book series starring three sisters and their race to find a husband so they don’t have to marry Aidan. This is Nell’s story. She is the oldest and always takes care of her little sisters. This is her time to do something for herself; win the first husband. Nell has had her sights on Grant for years but never made a move. This was the kick in the pants for her to finally make her move.
Nell signs up for Grant’s adventure hike. What happens next is a comedy of errors. There is definite chemistry between the two of them as they start to really get to know each other. And then Grant’s special treat for Nell starts a chain reaction of one-up-manship. Depending on your mood this can be funny or a little over the top.
I am already looking forward to Aidan’s story.
Sexual content - kissing, chemistry, staying in the same cabin but no sex.
I received this book from Netgalley. I was not required to write a positive review.

A huge thanks to Ginny Baird and Entangled Publishing for my complimentary copy. All opinions expressed are entirely my own.
I love myself a Ginny Baird book and First Bride to Fall was no different. The book follows Nell Delaney who will do anything for her family. But how far does one go for family? Nell and her sisters to avoid an offer given to them by their mother decide to enter into a bet to find true love. Nell being shy tries to capture the attention of her crush by doing the things he loves.. Oh mayn, I was laughing, sighing and relating to Nell. I recommend this book!
A cute and warm read...
The story started well and it kept me entertained for most part. Grant and Nell were both lovable characters (though I did have my own doubts towards the last few chapters but it ended well).
In spite of some predictable and expected parts, this book made me smile at several places and felt heart warming in most.
Overall, an enjoyable read.
The following is what will be posted on Goodreads:
For this book I’m giving 3.5 stars rounding to 4.
The main characters are Nell and Grant. Nell’s family owns a coffee shop- they had a partner with another family but that family left them high and dry. The coffee shop owned by Nell’s parents is struggling. The two mothers found a way to reunite the families- by marriage between Aidan and one of the three sisters.
I’ll be honest, this seemed really far fetched for me. But I wanted to see how this would play out so I kept reading.
Once Nell’s mother drops this madness on her daughters the daughters decide to make a bet. Whoever is the last to find a fiancé in thirty days will have to marry Aiden and help save the coffee shop.
This timeline is where I was almost lost. It makes everything feel rushed, while I understand how it all fits it’s a level of insane that I can’t wrap my head around.
Up to this point Nell has not had a serious relationship and decides to finally take the plunge and make a move on Grant, the owner of a sporting goods store, by signing up for a hike. Nell ends up getting hurt on the hike and Grant and her are forced to stay at his cabin due to Nell’s injury and the weather.
I don’t want to give too much away but their relationship starts to blossom but takes a huge 180. You’ll have to read and find out how that happens and where it goes from there. This is the bulk of the book and what I enjoyed most.
While there are a couple of things I think is a little far fetched I did still enjoy First Bride to Fall and would recommend if you’re looking for something easy to read.
3.75⭐
First Bride to Fall is a cute trope filled romance featuring three sisters Nell, Misty and Charlotte who learn from their mum that the family business is going through a tough time and in order to save it. She's struck a deal with an old friend and former business partner for one of the daughters to take place in a five-year marriage of convenience.
However, the three sisters come up with their own plan and make a bet which forces the loser to enter in to the marriage. But Nell is determined it won't be her as she's set her sights on Grant and has 30 days to convince him to fall in love and propose.
Yet, when Grant learns what Nell and her sisters have planned he decides not to say anything but get even in a different way. And so a battle of wills ensues to see who will crack first.
And with plenty of fun moments and a sprinkling of emotion this was an engaging and enjoyable read. I just didn't feel the chemistry or particularly like some of the characters which is why I've not rated it higher.
But it was certainly a well-written story and if you like your romance light-hearted and sex-free you should certainly check this story out.
Cute 4.5*
A long term crush is finally acted upon but the reason for that could derail a romance and soon there is a funny battle of wills between two stubborn people. A very enjoyable story.

This is a cute story, lots of fun. Seemed a bit far fetched at times, but overall a good time.
Nell and her sisters work art their parent's coffee house. They learn from their mom that the coffee house is in financial trouble, but she has worked out a plan with her friend. One of her daughters will marry her friends son, Aidan, and he would bail out thee coffee house and make the past financial mistakes of their parents right. The sisters create a bet to see who will marry Aidan. Nell is determined to win the bet and the heart of her high school sweetheart, Grant. But their relationship is built on lies, so getting to the alter may be a bit out of reach!
Some romance, some sweet moments, and lots of laughs. Great book.

I enjoyed this book about three sisters who help run their family's coffee shop. They find out that the business isn't doing well economically. Their family had a falling out with the partner who had cheated them out of profits. Now the mothers of the sister and the son of the ex-partner have made an agreement for the son and one of the sisters to marry and then marriage of convenience would bring financial stability to the coffee shop. Nell and her two sisters make a bet that whoever isn't married by the deadline of 30 days would have to marry the son. Nell decides that she will be the first bride of the three. She has always had a crush on Grant who has his own outdoor business. She knows nothing about hiking or anything to do with the outdoors but figures she can fake it. She signs up for a hike thinking it won't difficult. Grant sees her arrive in outlandish clothes for the hike but has an attraction to her. When she's injured on the hike, Grant ends up taking her to his cabin since the roads have washed out because of the rain storm. They start to have a real attraction to each other even though they aren't 100% compatible. Nell sends her sisters pictures of her at Grant's cabin insinuating that they are progressing with their romance and will be getting married. She doesn't tell Grant about the bet because she's afraid that he'll think she doesn't really like him and is just using him. Of course, he does find out by accident from her sisters who think they are already engaged. He decides to turn the tables on her by having her do all kinds of outrageous things in order for her to leave. I found this part pretty funny and then sad at the same time. Will Nell and Grant be able to tell each other how they feel before it's too late? I hope the other two sisters get their own books. I received an early copy to read and review from Netgalley and I'm leaving my honest review.
Screw enemies-to-lovers, give me lovers-to-enemies-to-lovers! I read this so quickly because it was too fun to put down. Grant might’ve been a little too evil, and Nell wasn’t quite evil enough, but I thoroughly enjoyed the ride. I’m so excited to read the next books in the series, and I’ll be looking out for Ginny Baird in the future!
First Bride to Fall is the first book in the Majestic Maine series. This wholesome contemporary romance with a cute storyline. Three sisters agree the sister that isn’t engaged to be married in a month will accept a marriage of convenience that will correct a past mistake that will save the family business. First Bride to Fall is a clean, easy, quick read. Everything was super fun, and I can't wait to read the next books in the series and find out who will be entangled in the marriage of convenience now? Charlotte or Misty?
***Thank you to NetGalley, Entangled: Amara and Ginny Baird. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book. All opinions are my own.***
I really enjoyed this story. Three sisters make a pact to save their parents’ failing business: whoever isn’t engaged in 30 days has to enter into a marriage of convenience. Nell, the oldest of the 3, uses the pact to finally find the courage to go after her childhood crush, Grant. When she signs up for one of his wilderness hikes, he realizes she’s not exactly an outdoorsy person, but that doesn’t matter to him because sparks fly. Everything is going great until Grant catches wind of the bet. Knowing he can’t just break up with the town sweetheart without risking an already tattered reputation, the pair try to outwit one another.
Nell was so easy to relate to and I really liked her. I wish the author hadn’t made her quite so clumsy, even though it worked with the storyline. I liked Adam too. The pair had great chemistry. I thought Baird did an especially good job with it given the chasteness of the relationship. This story was sweet and easy to read. I look forward to the next book in the series.

Thank you to Entangled Publishing and Netgalley for a copy of this book to read and review. Nell and Grant are a wonderful mismatched pairing and I really liked this book. The banter was funny and the plan to get rid of each other only made me laugh . It was so far fetched and ridiculous but in a great way. I also liked that the story mainly took place at Grant's cabin. It really brought out the small town romance vibes. The love of family and variety of hobbies was super fun. This was the perfect light hearted and cutesy read and I can't wait to read the remaining two books!
I read quite a few books from this author and have enjoyed them all. This one is no exception. Grant and Nell make a cute couple, but some of her early texts, to her sisters, about him really did make me cringe. It’s a clean romance and something of a whirlwind, as it only takes a few days for the story to be wrapped up. It’s a lot of fun, with a sparkling, witty dialogue that can’t help but make you smile. I’m excited to read more in this series.
This is my first book by Ginny Baird, and I found the storyline cute and fast-paced. After a bet for a marriage of convenience gets complicated, we follow Nell and Grant through a bit of cat-and-mouse intrigue on the road to their HEA. There's lots to enjoy with these characters, and behind their budding romance is a close-knit family that supports one another. It was an enjoyable read!

I didn't expect to enjoy this book so much. I already read several Ginny Baird books but this is the one I enjoyed the most, it was as fun and entertaining, a really good page turner
.
Nell is the oldest sister in the family and the one who always takes care of everyone, so when the solution to save the family cafe is a marriage of convenience, she is the first to want to run away from that option
.
But her sisters manage to make a deal between them, the only one who does not get a commitment proposal in thirty days will be the chosen one, with time against the clock she decides to dare to talk to her eternal crush and find is there is a chance of something more
.
But as things start to flow everything changes when he finds out about the bet and the relationship between the two becomes a game of wills in the best style of 'how to lose a man in ten days' to see who gives up first
.
I had so much fun with this book it was funny and romantic my heart went out to Nell trying to take ownership of the situation to go for what she wants and the images painted in each moment were so beautiful. A good romcom with a lot of outdoor adventures
.
I really enjoyed reading this book and get me thinking of the other characters in the book, I wanted to keep reading more
.
Thanks to Ginny Baird and entangled Publishing for give me this great book in exchange for my honest opinion
I am familiar with this author and always enjoyed her books. This book was a page turner and fast paced. It has laugh out loud scenes. The supporting characters were enjoyable. I like the back-and-forth chemistry of the H&H. The story was good and will keep you entertained. I would recommend this to other people because this author is good and worth getting to know.
