This one was just okay. It just wasn’t as thrilling as I thought it would be. I definitely DID NOT like how it ended.
I enjoyed the read though, just wish it had been better. Thank you to #NetGalley and the publishers of #ForgetMeNot for the opportunity to read and review with my honest thoughts and opinions.
When Blue wakes up from a coma, she has been in hospital for weeks, & apart from her name, she cannot remember anything. She finds out from police detective, DeLuca, that she fell from the fourth floor window of a hotel but they don't know if she fell, was pushed, or if she jumped. As Blue tries to remember her life, she starts to receive threatening phone calls & then someone tries to abduct her from the hospital. Unless Blue remembers what happened & what the people who are after her want, she may still be in danger.
There are no big surprises in this, everything plays out pretty much as you would expect if you happen to read many thrillers. As a main character Blue is a bit irritating at first, but as the book went on I did find myself warming to her a little more. I did have to roll my eyes at the fact that although she couldn't remember anything, & knew that someone was out to get her, she had the time to think about banging the hot detective. I mean, priorities, right?! There was enough here to keep me reading & I think 3.5 stars (rounded down on sites which do not allow half star ratings) is a fair reflection.
My thanks to NetGalley & publishers, Inkubator Books, for the opportunity to read an ARC.
Given the plot of this book, it's a bit ironic that the story itself seemed to suffer from a bit of an identity crisis. What I mean by that is that it seemed like the author was a bit torn on what genre they were going for. At times it felt like a traditional thriller/mystery, but during others it leaned more towards romantic suspense. And ultimately I think the book would have been better if the author had chose to lean harder into that lane. I really enjoyed the scenes that hinted at a relationship between the main character and the detective on her case and I wish it had been explored more. And if the author was deadset on making this a thriller, I think those scenes should have been cut because as it was, the ending between those two characters just sort of fell flat.
I struggled to decide a rating for this one, but ultimately landed on 3 stars because I did enjoy reading this story, I just wanted more from it.
Quiet a good read about a woman who wakes from a coma with no recollection of her life before that moment so she must rely on her own instincts to survive…
Aside from some really slow parts in the story and the cliche plot, the biggest let down of this book were the characters: all stereotypes down to a freaking T without any interesting tidbits.
Grab yourself a copy of this book! I absolutely loved this! I read this book within a day, I couldn’t put it down. I loved the characters and the way I had to keep asking myself if I was right in how I thought the plot was turning out.
This was an okay thriller, I was interested while reading it but it wasn't exactly breaking new ground with the whole main character has amnesia and doesn't know what happened to her and who she can trust storyline, and the ending was ridiculous.
This ARC was provided to me via Kindle, Inkubator Books and by #NetGalley. Opinions expressed are completely my own.
Chilling, thrilling and hard to put down.
This book was spine chilling from the very beginning and I definitely had the light on whilst reading. A must read!
What happened?!?
Waking up in a hospital two weeks after being thrown out a window, Blue doesn’t remember anything about who she is. What happened to her? Who can she trust?
This fast-paced novel follows Blue as she tries to figure out what happened while around every corner someone is trying to kill her.
Although there were a few laughable parts and some secondary characters that could have been fleshed out more, I enjoyed the story.
I recommend it to anyone looking for a fast-paced thriller that could easily be read in a day or two.
The premise of this book was actually a mystery to me. I started reading it without any idea of what I was getting into.
A woman jumped off from the fourth floor of a 5-star hotel and woke up in the hospital with amnesia. Her identity is a puzzle to the police and someone is after her. Who is she? What is the Cassiopeia?
The book started off strong with a promise of thrilling and intense execution. Everyone appears to be hiding something and trust is easily questioned as the main character slowly regains her memory piece by piece.
It was alright. Honestly, I expected more from the story but it lost me around the middle part and it didn’t pick up from there. It wasn’t bad but not really memorable.
Cheers to Netgalley and Inkubator Books for the advanced copy. Appreciate it
Thank you Inkubator Books and NetGalley for an early copy of Forget Me Not. I would never have read this book without a synopsis, but I
liked the cover. It was interesting in the beginning, the middle was making me think I don’t like these types of thrillers and the ending was soooooo far fetched, it was utterly ridiculous. Definitely not my type of book but the cover was easy to like.
This book starts out strong. I was invested in the mystery. The more the story went on, the less I cared. It wasn’t really going in a direction I expected, and the twist was a letdown. I still enjoyed the beginning of the story.
Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for a digital review copy.
It was a good book. It had good storyline, twist and suspense. I was surprised by the ending. It wasn't my favorite psychological thriller. I'm happy I read it but not very exciting.
Thank you NetGalley and Inkubator Books for the eARC.
The beginning of this book was promising, but then I started losing interest. I really didn't care for the protagonist or the rest of the book, I found it boring. Sorry!
I read this book in one sitting, twisty and unpredictable with an ending that I didn't see coming. A really enjoyable read that thriller fans will love.
A great mystery! I really went into it not knowing the plot but wasn’t pleasantly surprised. The book was incredibly interesting and kept my curious to find out what happened.
Good book, this book had plenty of suspense, intrigue, action, and great police work! The storyline was Interesting, I did enjoy reading this book, it just wasn't one of my all time favorites. Its worth reading but just ok for me! Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for sharing this book with me!
