I read through the first book in this omnibus but I think it just isn't for me. Fun concepts though!
Carin has no memory of her early life before a wheelwright found her, half frozen, beside a pond. He and his family took her in, nursed her back to health, and put her to work as a servant. Life was not too bad: the work was hard and the frequent beatings were not pleasant, but she had food and a roof over her head. When a wisewoman tells her to go north, however, she takes off with great determination and urgency.
In this four-book saga, the author has created an epic fantasy world full of magic, danger, romance, and travel through time and space to other worlds. The characters are vivid and complex, including a young woman on a hero’s quest, a powerful warlock who isn’t sure whether to kill her or embrace her, a Yoda-like wizard, a wood sprite with an attitude, and a monster called the Jabberwock. This is a most enjoyable read for fans of fantasy and fine writing.
This is not my usual genre choice, but this is a good choice for those that like fantasy and of course are interested in an entire series. It's also a good choice for those that don't like cliffhangers since they won't be left hanging. This has rich character and world building, and the elements of a good fantasy story.
Thanks very much for the free review copy!!
An entertaining, fast paced, and well plotted fantasy series that i read as fast as I could. It was funny and riveting, the world building is fascinating, and the characters fleshed out.
Highly recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine
This is an addictive to read epic fantasy. I liked it.. It is sweet and steamy, with drama and adventure. I binged through the books eager to see how the story unfolds. Great book by a great author.
An extraordinary book, 4 in fact! Waterspell, in four books, tells the story of the lost traveler, Carin, who is drawn into the schemes of a hot-tempered, emotionally damaged wizard. Does he view her as nothing more than an expendable weapon in his fight to save his world from lethal alien plagues? Or will Lord Verek find himself wavering, when it comes time to dispose of his fiery water-sylph?
I read these over a five day period and found the storytelling fantastic. See for yourself! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This was a riveting series and i literally devoured it one after the other, I didn't eat at times so I could read this book. well written, excellent world-building with an engaging plot in each book and well developed characters. I was gripped right from the start with twists i didnt see and unpredictablity I loved it.
