Really well written book with interesting characters, great conversation and a feel of nostalgia and home. Full of cuteness and love, it's a feel good book!
"she knew that in the patchwork quilt of life, love was the stitches that held it together, and she couldn’t wait to see how all their pieces looked and what brilliant new pattern they would make."

This book will definitely attract a certain audience and they'll be extreme!y happy with the book. However, for me it could have done with a bit more of a kick in it - not drama wise as there was enough of that but if I'd known going into it that it was fade to black and barely any mention of description of the love scenes then I probably wouldn't have read it as I do find books can be a little lacking in this scenario.
Although, regardless of this I did read all the way through as I wanted to see what happened between Gracie and Lucas, there story was a lovely, genuine one and if the book was spicier, it would have gotten a higher star rating.
Will look for more books by this author in the future as her writing style was great and the plot flowed well!
Will post a more thorough review on Goodreads and Amazon soon!

Lucas is taking a break from his job raising money for a non-profit working to help the homeless after the death of a close friend. He decides to mend some of his relationships to family members on his former small town stomping grounds. What was meant to be a short break, turns into more when he meets a lovely seamstress in town named Gracie.

Some parts were slow and repetitive, but overall this book was light and sweet. I do feel like it needed an added component to draw the reader in or maybe it shouldn’t have been in both views so that the reader was left wanting to know what happens. The reader is given all info up front so I felt like I was just cringing as the miscommunication unfolded. I also felt like Gracie was painted in an unattractive light. Lucas was gorgeous apparently and he would talk about how she looked like a scared kitten or her bush of hair made her look like a wood nymph. I was having trouble reconciling their love given his view of her.

I loved the town of Applewell and its inhabitants, the bartering, the dedication to upcycling and caring for those less fortunate. The author discusses things that are close to her heart without sounding like propaganda (although maybe I feel this way because I agree?). This book made me want to learn to sew or upcycle some furniture!

Thank you for the opportunity to review this ARC!

I really enjoyed being back in Applewell, this time with Lucas and Gracie. This book had lovely characters and I liked the way they gradually got to know each other and a relationship developed between them. The pace of the story was a tad slow in parts but I did like the deep insight into the thoughts and feelings of the characters and the thought provoking message in the story. The secondary characters were great too.

What a lovely little village Applewell is, loved getting to know all it's residents. Have not read the previous books in the series but that didn't matter, as this was an easy to read tale, read it in a few hours, whilst lying on a sunbed in Kos!

What a truly stunning read this book is and Lilac never fails to disappoint. Heart warming and beautifully written.

This book is the third book in The Applewell series. It can be read as a standalone novel but I suggest that you read the previous two books first. Some of the characters from the previous books appear in this book. It is lovely to catch up with them.
I really enjoyed the Applewell series of books. I love the underlying theme of reusing, upcycling and recycling- make do and mend. I love charity shops and I have several upcycled and vintage items. This series really appealed to me and I loved reading it.
Thank you to Netgalley and the Publisher for my ARC.

A Stitch in Time in Applewell (ASITIA) fell flat for me and took me awhile (about a month) to read because of how repetitive it was. One of my least favorite tropes is miscommunication and that was one of the main themes in this novel. I very much enjoyed Gracie's character, it was Lucas' character that drove me a bit nuts with what he wanted and how he did not say outwards what he wanted and needed from his partner and family. Although it was a light romance, I do not know if I would read the others in the Applewell series.

This was an ok read, but with a very annoying male lead character. Everything he did made me think he’s either majorly creepy (yes it’s not normal to follow women about, especially when they don’t want it) or else just a horrible person (ignored his family for years out of pride). I honestly wanted him to go back to London and have our main female character find someone better. It’s an ok story to while away a couple of hours, but I wouldn’t recommend

When first seeing the book title and the cover I thought this would be like a hallmark movie novel which sometimes I feel in the mood for. I am so glad that it wasn't a hallmark movie novel though.

The characters of Gracie and Lucas are very well written and I enjoyed the majority of the novel being focused on Lucas and his background / history / story. The pacing of their relationship was done very well and it wasn't too fast or too slow. It was really cute.

The only thing I wish the authoress had included was a chapter on Nora's wedding as I felt that was a critical part of the sub plot and would have liked to have read that. I do hope the writer does do a novel on Nora as I really loved her character and wanted to see more from her relationship with Lucas.

Lilac Mills does a fantastic job of writing about the small village where everyone knows everything that goes on.

When I give books 5 stars usually its because I couldn't put it down and needed to know what happens next. In this instance I actually took breaks between reading several chapters and due to the pacing of the book it was really easy to pick back up where you left off and continue on.

I highly recommend this book if you want an easy, digestible, cute romance novel.

This is my first book by Lilac Mills buy it definitely won't be my last! Pure escapism, really enjoyed reading about Lucas and Gracie. Didn't want it to end!

I’ve read Lilac Milks books but not any of the Applewell series. It’s easy to read as a stand-alone novel; I didn’t realise it was part of a series. Feel good, easy read which would be a great beach read.

🏘Lucas & a Welsh small town: has he come full circle?✂👗

4.5🌟 stars
A good romantic plot with just the right number of characters, A Stitch in Time brings Lucas, who left his small Welsh hometown at 17 to make his mark in London, back to mourn and mend fences with the family he left behind. What he finds, in addition to the expected nosy neighbors, gossip grapevine and his mom who can't help stuffing him with her homecooking, is a growing feeling of belonging and a shy seamstress/crafter named Gracie who he can't stop thinking about.

I enjoyed the location, characters and storyline which is positive and fairly low angst.. Gracie is the underdog who spends most of her time sitting in her shop or at home sewing; she can't believe a man would find her attractive. I liked the way she started coming out of her shell to live in the now, largely prompted by Lucas's attention, despite worries about her future. Their romance is slow in building and remains closed-door sweet.

I've not read the earlier books in the Applewell series but I think I'm hooked on this town and its residents at this point.

Thanks to Canelo and NetGalley for sharing a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest opinion.

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.

I have read the previous books in this Applewell series. Characters from previous books pop up in this book like George, Lottie and Henry.

The story is about Lucas, who comes back to his hometown after he ran away when he was seventeen. Coming back to Applewell after he lost his friend Effron, now wants to make up for the time he’s been away and rebuild his relationships with his mother and his sister Nora because he made a promise to Effron. He wants to return to London being in a better state of mind.

But, he didn’t think he’d meet Grace, she owns ‘A Stitch in Time’, where she enjoys sewing items as well as creating dolls for ‘Under Cover’ and helping locals with their alterations.

Spending time with Grace, Lucas feels like he might not go back to London and stay in the place he ran away from.

I loved the town of Applewell, the community being there for each other, it was lovely meeting Gracie and Lucas, as well as Lucas rebuilding his relationships.

Recommend this series.

Starting to feel the love for Applewood! Love all the characters and the traits they bring to the story! An easy quick read

This is an ok little love story, but just ok. I don't expect much depth from a romance novel, but everything fell pretty flat and there was a lot of repetition.

Applewell feels like home now. I have genuine love for these books, the characters and the setting. I look forward to what’s coming next and instantly devour it when it’s released. This one is beautifully written.

Lucas ran away to London from Applewell in his teens, his experience on the streets there led him eventually to working for a charity supporting those in similar situations. Now many years later he returns, partly to look at the charity's shop there to see how to improve their profitability but also to rest from the strains of his job. Grace has a small business, as part of which rescues clothing not suitable for sale and upcycling them back for sale in the charity shop.
This is the third book in the Applewell series, I had read and loved the first, but the second one has languished in my TBR list unread to date. This didn't affect my enjoyment of the book as it's a series, not a serial, but made me determine to go back and read it.
This is s definite case of where I just wanted to bash the two main character's heads together as they both had strong feelings for each other, but this wouldn't have made a story. It also shows some of the downsides of living in a small community as it can feel very cloying with everyone being interested in each other's lives, which was part of the reasoning for Lucas leaving in the first place. It still sounds like a place I would love to live in, I have visited the area several times on holiday and it is certainly a great place to be. So overall a book that I can definitely recommend, now to read that second book....
I received an advance copy of this book from the publisher through Netgalley,, however this did not influence my review of the book.

How I loved the return to applewell where everyone knows everyone's business but stick together no matter what, loved how this book focused on Lucas and his return to his hometown after running away when he was seventeen and also the shy Gracie who owns and runs a stitch in time, can't wait to read the next applewell story
