I was in the mood for something light and uplifting, and this gave me exactly what I needed.
We have seen Gracie on the periphery of the two other books in this series, so it was really lovely to get her full story and see her get the happiness she deserves.
Even though this is the third book in the series, it can be read as a standalone as previous characters are now just on the outskirts of this story!
Gracie is a lovely character; she is well-developed with her own business and morals. She may be shy and timid, but she really has her life together with owning her own home and making a living from what she loves.
Lucas was also a great character, quite complicated with some demons in his past, but I think they were more what people were projecting onto him from one mistake he made when he was very young.
I loved how the chemistry between Gracie and Lucas flowed, you could really feel their attraction coming off the page, and it made for very easy and enjoyable reading.
Overall, this is an excellent addition to the Applewell world, but looking at the author’s pattern for series, she seems to stop at three, so was this the last we have seen of Applewell? I hope not!
This was a lovely escape from reality, and a solid five star read from me.

This third book in the Applewell Village series is set in a small village in the rolling Welsh hills. Nestled only two miles from the coast and surrounded by rich farmland, you can almost smell the salty tang of the Irish Sea. Lucas Grainger has returned after a 17 year absence and is welcomed with open arms by all in the village. When they learn that his assignment, and reason for his return trip, is to streamline a homeless charity, UnderCover, it causes strife in the village because it risks putting Gracie Stewart out of business…and sparks fly!

I loved this heartwarming romance. Sometimes life requires a little saccharine and this delivered. Author Lilac Mills has created the perfect village atmosphere and the sense of community pervades. It’s a quaint village filled with lovely and quirky people and a place I could imagine myself visiting and loving. In a place where everyone knows everyone else maybe a little too well, the villagers are overprotective. When the ‘newcomer’ is actually a former resident, it increases the tension for all. What I loved about the plot was that Mills chose the wayward villager as a male. So often it’s females and it was a nice perspective having a male protagonist. My heart broke when I learned of the reason he ran away, but I could understand as I knew the importance Britain puts on it. When I read admissions such as he’d “gone about escape the wrong way” and “hurt his family badly in the process,” I knew I had to keep reading. I was curious about how the ‘prodigal son’ would prevent another reason to leave the village in disgrace! This book deals with themes of reconciliation, acceptance, love and compromise. It's the third in a series, but can definitely stand alone.

I was gifted this advance copy by Lilac Mills, Canelo, and NetGalley and was under no obligation to provide a review.

It is the first book I had the pleasure to read from Lilac Mills and it was truly amazing . He had left his hometown when he was only 17 and now after 17 years away he come back home . His mother is excited to have him back but his younger sister not so much . He is trying to mend their relationship by staying until her wedding in 2 months . While there he is helping with the shop the organization UnderCover he works has . The first day he goes into the shop he meets a very beautiful young woman and they became friends . She is very shy and loves anything to do with sewing . She doen not want to fall in love and then have her heart broken when Lucas go back to London , but she will date him so she will have no regrets . What will happen when a
misconception make them break up ? Will their love win ?
I received this book from net galley and the publisher as an ARC. Thank you! All thoughts and opinions are my own .

I absolutely love this series set in Applewell.

This is the third installment but you can absolutely read this as a standalone but I highly recommend you do read the others as I wouldn't want you to miss out.

This time we focus on Gracie who owns a stitch in time who I loved which I could be as creative as her.

Lucas has been away from Applewell for many many years and is only back for a short period, he took a while for me to warm to.

Applewell makes me happy such a lovely setting, people, I never want these books to end
