Shifter politics vs love made for tension-filled reading…

I was so happy to learn that the Salvation Pack series was going to continue! This author is one of my favourites – writing a range of different themed romances that have a few things in common. Great characters, lots of heat and compelling stories. Addie and Billy’s courtship ticked all those boxes…

Billy and Addie met in a moment of danger and crisis, hardly the time to fall in love. Yet that’s what happened as they bonded quickly, running from danger and protecting each other. Billy was all grown up and I loved the man he turned out to be. His care of Addie, his need to ensure her safety, heart and body all in, had my heart fluttering for sure. Addie was no wallflower, quiet she may be. Unsure of her place at home or with Billy, there was more than one threat to their happily ever after…

Full of shifter politics, all the wonderfully meddling family you could want plus a beautiful love story – this was a fantastic start to the series…

In the first book in a spin-off series from the Salvation Pack series, N.J. Walters turns their attention to the next generation of pack members. Billy Gallagher, a human, has been living amongst the werewolf pack since he was a young child. As an adult, he is contemplating his future and his place in the pack. He saves Addie, a female wolf from another pack, from a forced mating, but in the process, he is seriously injured and changed forever.

The author does an excellent job of inviting new readers into the fold. Going in, I was concerned that I would not be able to fully enjoy the book since I had not read the previous series. However, character that were previously introduced were seamlessly woven throughout the story, and having received small snip-its of their personalities and history, readers will most likely be interested in going back to read their origin stories as well.

Overall, I enjoyed this book and would recommend it to readers who are looking for books in this genre.

I received an advanced copy of this book from the publisher through netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This book is well written and the characters are described well. My favorite characters in this book is Billy and Addie. The setting within this book is wonderful. I enjoyed the close family relationship in this book. This book will keep you on the edge of your seat from the first page trying to figure out what will happen next. I definitely will be reading more books by this author in the near future. This book is set between Kentucky and North Carolina. I absolutely highly highly recommend this book to anyone and everyone. This ebook is in stores for $4.99 (USD).

She is strong one moment and weak the next. She made her alpha sound horrible, but he seemed reasonable when he was given the chance. Simon was pain. Billy's entire pack seemed like good people. Interesting read 3.5 stars

Shifter politics, obsession, loyalty - and an undercurrent of dreams that once seemed impossible, coming to fruition. Love found, love lost, courage found, cowardice uncovered and resolved. Strong characters with a stronger message - just loved it.

I really liked the dynamics between the characters and the packs in this story! Having not read the previous 1st gen series, I was still able to easily follow along with some already established dynamics. While our main characters are not what would be classified as fated mates, they definitely had a bond and a connection right away. Loved the moments where the wolf and the human became one in the ‘other’ world, it was short, but powerful and poignant. Everything these two knew is changed for them but they are good as long as they are together. Both strong, both smart, both determined, they match perfectly and that made them all them all the more likable!

Good story and unique but I couldn’t get engrossed in it. Addie’s character really put me off since she was so undecided. Her treatment of Billy being weak was decidedly irritating. Three stars.
