#SixGraves #NetGalley Wow, just Wow! I have read all the books in the DI Kim Stone series and just when I think it can't get any better, Angela Marsons pulls another rabbit out of the hat!! From the very ominous prologue, I was on the edge of my seat, hoping that my worst fears didn't come to fruition. The book is well written, easy to read with so much action going on that I couldn't put the book down. I really like the character of Kim and her relationship with her team, whilst you could read this book as a standalone, the reader will get more enjoyment knowing the background to the main characters especially Kim. I read somewhere that this 16th book in the series is the last, If that is the case, the series certainly concluded with a bang! I look forward to reading more from this author in the future. A most excellent 5 stars!!!

Wow,what can I say about the Kim Stone series of books! Once again Angela Marsons has come up with the best book in this superb series of books.I keep saying that but it’s true, every time I read the new book in the series I think it can’t be bettered but each time I happily proved wrong.Once again Kim is aided by her usual team of Bryant,Stacey and Penn, and they are up against an adversary who has escaped from prison and when he kidnaps two little girls to lure Kim to him Kim is up against it when she is ordered to keep her her distance from the case. Also she is investigating a murder of a whole family by a the mother of the family or so it seems, with this case proving difficult to crack for the team they have their hands full. Once again Angela Marsons has written an absolutely brilliant book and anyone who is looking for a new series of books to read you can’t go wrong with this series of 16 books but start at the first book and just enjoy the ride! In my opinion this is one the best series of books I’ve ever read and i read a lot of books! I can’t recommend this series of books highly enough.Another stunning 5 star read from Angela Marsons.

The author and the series never disappoint me. Another awesome thriller with a good plot. The views on adoption are to the point and give no space for excuses. Excellent.

DI Kim Stone's nightmare begins when Symes (a murderer who she put into prison) escapes and whose only intention is to see her dead. Then on the instructions of her boss has to be given a protection officer and her home is then turned into a high security place with cameras and alarms inside and out. All of which do not leave DI Stone comfortable or happy.
The nightmare then gets worse when Symes kidnaps a seven year old girl while a family of four are murdered and the scene set to look like a murder/suicide. While Kim Stone and her team try to make sense of these crimes they are aware time is running out.
This is one of the best books I have read in a while, I have been unable to put the book down. Page after page it just keeps you wanting more. Now that I've finished it I cannot wait for the next. Angela Marsons is really a superb author and this series is superb.

I can't believe I've finally caught up with the DI Kim Stone series and that I'm actually able to read and review the ARC this time around! I guess it took me long enough, with Six Graves being already book number sixteen... But considering I only met the detective exactly a year ago at the time of finishing this book, I did go through the previous sequels at a solid enough pace. Of course the fact that this series was one of my favorite new discoveries last year and the fact that the sequels kept delivering had something to do with that... And this newest sequel Six Graves knocked it right out of the park.

I don't think I've been this speechless after reading a prologue for a long time. I literally couldn't believe what I had just read, my mind reeling and unable to process the information that had just arrived. I mean, what a way to leave any fan of the series shell-shocked after only a few pages! I don't want to give away spoilers, but those who have already had the chance to read Six Graves will know what I'm talking about. That said, things change quickly to the main case at hand... What seems to be a murder-suicide at first glance, soon turns out to be something a whole lot more complicated, and Kim and her team will have their hands full trying to solve this one.

I've decided to keep this review super short to avoid spoilers, because there is also a whole second storyline that is both highly explosive and easily ruined if you get a hint of what is going on before you start reading Six Graves. Trust me, this story will have a lot bigger impact if you don't know what is coming; going in completely blind is the best way to go this time around. What I can tell is that it is this second 'mystery' storyline what makes this sequel stand out and it's without doubt a story that will stay with me for a long time.

If you are a DI Kim Stone fan, you cannot miss this one! Likewise, if you enjoy well written, suspenseful and entertaining detective thrillers, don't mind things getting pretty dark and twisted at times and haven't tried this series yet, you should definitely try scheduling in a meeting! I finally did so myself a year ago and I haven't looked back since.

This has to be the best in the series…although I say that at the end of each of the books! I read this in 2 days, simply unputdownable! This one was heartstopping and flew along at a cracking pace so many twists and turns, amazing story telling!

Thank you Netgalley, the author and publishers for an ARC in exchange for an honest review

Oh my gosh, what a brilliant story. Angie Marsons, what are you doing to me?! you had me worried! And with Symes, a character I absolutely love to hate (urgh *shudders*) featuring in this book, it added a ridiculous amount of tension for me.
Totally unputdownable.
Go on everybody, read the whole series!

I have read all of Angela Marson's previous Kim Stone books and thought that she surely must be running out of ideas to keep the series fresh and exciting but this book showed me that I had seriously underestimated this author. I was immediately pulled into the storyline and not let go until the very last page. Having read the other books the characters are all so familiar and the author is great at not just concentrating on the main character so you can read how they are all changing and affected by previous situations. I couldn't put this down and read it over two days, I think this might be one of the best books of the series yet which is no mean feat seeing as it is number 16 in the series. Genuinely hope there's another book in the pipeline.

Oh.my……
What an absolute page turner, seriously I’ve never read a book so fast and finished so quickly. The prologue I can just sum up with one word…wow! Won’t give the plot away but would recommend this book to anyone as can be read as a follow on to the series or as a stand-alone. Angela Marsons has done it again!

Quite often when a book series gets to number 16 the excitement has worn off and you are reading it to remain loyal to the author. This is most definitely not the case with this book or series, in fact after reading that book I think it's the best book in the series. I am still processing what I have just read and amazed at how Angela Marsons has once again produced a 5* read.

The story you can find on the synopsis but my review will tell you that whilst reading this book prepare your emotions for laughter, sadness, smiles, anger and tears. I had every one of those emotions whilst reading this.

This is a fantastic book and series which I cannot recommend highly enough. My only disappointment is how this has not yet been made for tv.

Even though it’s the sixteenth book in the series, it’s my first Kim Stone read. It was a bit difficult keeping up with the established characters and that plotlines, but that’s my fault. I will be going back to the beginning to start the series.

I’ve always been a sucker for UK mysteries and police procedural, and Six Graves delivers. Angela Marsons takes us to the Black Country in the West Midlands. Kim Stone and her team have received a call in the Halesowen Police Department of a fire that took the lives of an entire family. Kim is immediately on the scene interviewing neighbors who appear to know nothing. When the crime scene investigators and the forensics crew put out their findings, it looks to be a murder/suicide situation. The rifle was found in the hands of the mother with the husband and two teenagers shot in their sleep. Good read, looking forward to going back to the beginning of the series.

Angela Marsons has outdone herself with this sixteenth addition to her Kim Stone series! Right from the chilling prologue it’s clear that this is going to be an especially gripping read with a very tense, heart stopping climax.

At the scene of a house fire Kim discovers that all four members of the family have been shot dead, with the mother found holding the gun. It looks like a murder-suicide but something doesn’t look right to Kim and she and the team must look deep into the lives of the parents’ histories and those of two older children to work out what really happened.

During the investigation, Kim learns that Symes, a pyschopath she previously caught and jailed for life, has escaped and is looking for revenge. Her chief, DCI Woodward insists she is going nowhere near the hunt for him and assigns her witness protection officer Leanne King to keep her safe in case he comes looking for her. As we know Kim doesn’t play well with others and has crossed swords with Leanne before, so the thought of having her by side and in her house 24/7 does not please her at all. However, the boss has read Kim the riot act so she has no choice. Marsons has a lot of fun at Kim’s expense, making her having to play by Leanne’s rules. Leanne doesn’t much care for Kim either and is cold und unemotional, but we do get to see a glimpse of a wicked sense of humour that she hides deep down. This fast paced and suspenseful read truly was compelling and hard to put down with a very harrowing climax that is sure to stun her fans.

Another winner by Angela Marsons, even though this is book 16 in the series they just get better and better. As soon as I see anything by Angela, I automatically purchase it as I know I will be in for a great story.

There are two different storylines in the book, one where a family of four have been murdered and Kim is out to find the killer and to discover what really happened to them and why. There are quite a few red herrings where you think you know what is going on and then more clues are presented and you realise you were wrong.

Kim is also being stalked and hunted by a man she put away for many years in prison but gets out. His only goal is to get Kim and inflict as much pain as possible to the point of killing her to make up for he sees as wrongs she has committed against him. He is a vile character and there is a great deal of suspence and very gritty action that leads to a very exciting and climax where was totally gripped by the events placed before me.

I really can't recommend this one highly enough especially if you are familiar with the Kim Stone series. Thank you to NetGalley the author and publisher for an advanced copy of the book. All opinions stated here are my own.

I don't know who it is at Bookouture, or Netgalley, that has the job of deciding whether to put an advance copy of a book out for early release. But in the case of 'Six Graves', I do wonder if that person has actually read the book themselves first, or at any rate thought about it. Because this book - perhaps more so than anything that Queen of the crime thriller Angie Marsons has written to date, which really is saying something - is so absolutely mind-blowing, and at the same time so heart-wrenching that after finishing it, I was left asking myself a whole host of questions. But the foremost one was this: What, you want me to review this now? Seriously? To quote Kim Stone, who uses this phrase more than once in this book: "are you ****ing kidding me?"

A day later and I'm still not sure where to even start. But I'm going to try to begin by saying that I understand that Angie's, and Bookouture's original plan was for the DI Kim Stone series to contain sixteen books. Well, here we are officially at Book No. 16 (not counting the prequel, 'First Blood' or the novella, 'One Hour' which she also managed to squeeze in). We know from the earlier books that Angie isn't afraid to make bold decisions regarding her main characters. And the prologue to this one - and what a prologue it is - introduces a terrible sense of foreboding. Partly because of the scene that's described, but mainly because one key name is not mentioned ...

Then we're taken back thirteen days and we really do fear the worst. One of the most chilling psychopaths that either Kim Stone as a police officer or myself as a reader have ever come across, and who Kim was responsible for putting behind bars in an earlier book has escaped from prison and is out for revenge. But Kim can't simply run away and hide, because she and her team have their own case to deal with. What initially appears to be a case of arson becomes a whole lot more sinister when four bodies are discovered. It appears that a mother has shot her husband and two teenage children to death before turning the gun on herself. But something - perhaps little more than instinct - causes Kim to wonder otherwise. Is it really possible that someone else was responsible?

This storyline allows the book to contain everything that we've come to expect, and want. Mystery, intrigue and the typical banter between the characters that we've all come to know so well. I particularly liked a scene featuring DS Penn and pathologist Keats, in which Keats makes a personal confession. And immediately follows it up with the line "tell your boss that and I'll tell her you passed out". So, that's me gone from having a lump in my throat to laughing out loud in the space of one short sentence. I've said it before and I'll say it again: I know of no other author who can do this.

My problem though - and it's really the only one that I have with 'Six Graves' is this: I get that any plot that kept Kim out of a safe house and working on the case had to be a big one. The solution is great too - intelligently done and thought-provoking. But I don't think I gave any of these chapters the attention they really deserved. I couldn't. I found myself skimming over them, in fear of whether the attempt on Kim's life was going to be successful. I've been a fan of this series from the beginning and she's just become too real to me for anything else to be possible. I care about her too much.

And it's for this reason that it's the final chapters, after the main case has been solved, where the book really came alive for me in a wonderful and yet terrible way. Surely the worst isn't going to happen ... is it? Angie wouldn't ... would she?

I'm saying nothing, except that after reaching the end, I was surprised at how numb I felt. I think I was a bit in shock. I think I might still be a bit in shock. And at a loss for words.

This is the situation. Trying to write a review that does an Angela Marsons book justice is a bit like offering a critique of a theory put forward by a rocket scientist. I can't do it. Her skills as a writer far, far outweigh mine as a reviewer. All I can say, therefore is: here, have your five stars and then some. I need a drink, and then perhaps another. Actually, I suspect that the only way I can get over this book hangover is to give myself a real one.

My thanks - no, I'm not sure that's the correct term to use either, but I'm being polite - to the author, Bookouture and Netgalley for the digital ARC of this book, which I have reviewed voluntarily and honestly. I will post my review on Goodreads and my personal blog now, and on Amazon on publication day.
