Absolutely brilliant, I read it in a day, I just couldn’t put it down! DI Kim Stone and her team investigate a possible murder suicide and uncover dark family secrets whilst Kim is under threat from a past adversary who wants her dead. A chilling story with an absolutely shocking ending.

OMG! OMG! OMG!

Angela Marsons what on earth have you done to me?!

You have put me through the wringer about a million times with this book!
You have complete messed with my head right from that phenomenal prologue!
And have proven once more that if you weren't an author that you potentially would be rather dangerous, given the dark and twisted ideas you come out with.

If I thought the previous books were the best yet, then I'm completely out of words to describe this one.

Just OMG! Wow! Speechless! How man I meant to review this?!

I mean every single thing I want to comment on would be a spoiler! And I just can't believe the well executed way you have made my mind turn, left right and centre, undecided on how to predict what may happen.

And all of that before we focus on the case that is at the centre of book which was also fascinating, and good to see how the team was working to solve that.

But wowsers, long term fans of this series like I am, are going to be completely and utterly unable to put this down right from that prologue! It just shows you always need to read a prologue or you are missing out! This is dark, it's cruel, it messes with readers minds, and I honestly wasn't quite believing what I was reading.

How much more can you honestly put these characters through?! This is utterly nuts in a good way, and once again cements what I've know for ages that is hands down one of the best crime thriller series around.

It has made me see Kim Stone in yet another new light, and just wow!

There aren't enough words in the world to describe how utterly amazing this book and this series is. It had me on tenterhooks, and I am so glad I left it to read for a day where I could spare i the time it so richly deserved.

More please!! Well once I've recovered from this one!!

Thank you to Bookouture and Netgalley for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

Oh wow!! Angela Marsons has pulled out all the stops with suspense and twists in this book!
I have awarded 5 Stars to every Kim Stone book that I have read, and that is all of them, but this one!! This one deserves 10 stars, at the very least!

Kim and her team are called out to a murder scene that is cunningly disguised to look like a murder suicide.
However, at the same time, a psychopath that Kim put behind bars has escaped from prison vowing to get revenge on Kim, even if it means that he loses his life. He kidnaps two little girls that he intends to torture and kill.

The hunt for the psychopath and the little girls is not Kim's case, in fact, she is given a 'bodyguard', Whom she detests, while she has to work on the murder of the family, with all the twists and turns of what seems like a dysfunctional family.

I like Kim, she is so 'real', calls a spade a spade and does not show emotion. This is due to her past, but you instinctively know that she feels far more than she would ever admit.

Do yourself a favour. Start at Book 1 of D.I. Kim Stone and work your way through, you will not regret it.

I cannot praise these books enough, Angela Marsons is one of my very favourite authors.

Thanks to the publishers and Netgalley for the opportunity to devour this book in a day. If I did not have an urgent appointment, I would have definitely read through the night in order to finish the book!

A family is found murdered, with the mother holding the gun. What made her shoot her family? Then Detective Kim Stone finds a clue that shows that things may not be as they seem, and so the team must find out what really happened. Meanwhile, a psychopath from Kim's past may pose a threat to Kim and others...

Another great entry to the series. Thrilling, tense and exciting, you can't help but race through the pages to the brilliant ending.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an advance copy of the book in return for my honest feedback.

What a ripper of a book this was! Angela Marsons does it again with another heart stopping Kim Stone storyline that kept me up until midnight so that I could finish it. Now that my heart rate is slowly coming back down it’s time for me to reflect on what just happened, wow, wow and wow! Bring on the next one Angela.

Do not read this book if you have a heart condition. The plot nearly made me pass out. I’m shocked and speechless and I can’t go into details because it’s a big spoiler but… wow! As usual, one of my favorite teams of detectives investigate a case. It appears to be a murder-suicide and a whole family, teenagers included, is dead. But wait, isn’t there a bigger case they should be handling? Like, oh, I don’t know, didn’t Symes, the dangerous psychopath who nearly beat two girls to death escape from prison? Sorry, nope, seems like his only goal in life is to murder Kim so off she goes into a sort of witness protection that involves a lot of funny banter with her frenemy Leanne. Don’t worry, she’s still actively working just, taking a lot of precautions. Kim doesn’t do the usual dumb things that dogged police officers fall into and really appreciates the danger but then… well, it’s bad, really bad. So before I spoil this excellent plot, let me just say ow much I enjoyed the novel. The relationships with Penn, the newest member, are more clearly established and the dialogues are hilarious. The original murder investigation was a little more predictable but it was still fun following all the clues along with them. So yes, please, read this book. Now!
I chose to read this book and all opinions in this review are my own and completely unbiased. Thank you, #NetGalley/#Bookouture!

Kim stone and her team are called to the Daynes family home, where all four members have been murdered. First instincts tell them what the mother Helen Daynes who has a history of mental health issues. Killed her husband and two kids and then killed herself as the gun used was in her hands. But as they look further, they find that this is not the case and someone else has pulled the trigger. Other people are questioned, even other members of the family.
Symes who Kim put behind bars several years ago. Has escaped prison and his one goal is to get revenge on Kim. Instead of Kim being in charge catching him and bringing him to justice is told to stand down by her boss and given a bodyguard to protect her. Symes while he is out of prison is up to his old tricks and has abducted two girls. A team from another station has been giving them the task to catch him. Which annoys totally annoys Kim.
Wow, Angela Marsons has done it again with Six Graves the 16th Book in the series and another brilliant read from the author. I was left speechless to what occurred at the end of this story. But I won’t spoil it for you. You will have to read it yourself. This is another fast paced, gripping read from the author. That had to devour in one day. Only thing now I am going feel a bit bereft until the next instalment. 5 stars from me.

Another satisfying read from this author.
This series keeps getting better. I love each and every book including this one.
So many parts of the book made me think that this case was going to be extremely difficult for the gang.

I can imagine many readers wondering how the 16th addition to Angela Marsons thrilling DI Kim Stone series, set in the West Midlands, gets 5 stars, all I can say is that they should read this outstanding crime series. This one opens with a scene that worries the heck out of me, and goes on to cover 2 harrowing cases. Stone and Bryant at a gruesome crime scene, a locked family home, there is arson, but that is not what is responsible for the 4 dead bodies, father William, 17 year old daughter Rosalind, and 15 year old son, Lewis have all been shot, apparently a murder-suicide by long term clinically depressed mother, Helen Daynes. Nothing is as it appears, it is not long before Stone casts doubt on what is assumed to have occurred, and it becomes clear this is a set up and someone else has killed the family. This is a case that brings back traumatic memories of Kim's traumatic childhood, particularly with her mother on her deathbed.

Stone's frustrations know no bounds when she finds herself locked out of the hunt for ex-forces, sicko psychopath, Symes, who has escaped from prison and is on a mission to kill her. She had previously prevented Symes from killing two abducted young girls and was responsible for the loss of one of his eyes, and his mind is obsessed with getting revenge. DCI 'Woody' Woodward has assigned Leanne King, a woman Stone is not fond of, to stick like glue to her as her personal protection officer. Stone's outrage at this cuts no ice with Woody, he is implacable, threatening to cut her loose from the police force. There is nothing she can do, and any attempts to get her team on her side fail, they are all worried sick about her, and approve of every effort to ensure her safety. There are numerous secrets that begin to emerge from within the Dayne family but will Kim continue to accept being on the sidelines when Symes kidnaps two little girls?

One of the highlights of this series is catching up with Stone's brilliant police team, Bryant, Penn and Stacey Wood, their utter commitment as they work all the hours, the banter that provides the shards of light in what is a particularly dark, intense and harrowing crime read, and it was a joy to see the development of the relationship and understanding between Kim and Leanne. I was glued to the pages, from start to finish, reading this riveting and well plotted thriller, with the suspense and tension off the charts as the storylines reach their nail biting conclusions. Once again Marsons has me eagerly anticipating the next book in this stellar series. Many thanks to the publisher for an ARC.

Six Graves is book 16 in the Detective Kim Stone series by Angela Marsons. This series is as fresh in book 16 as it was in the beginning. All the characters are back, and what great characters they are, and all so different. The book starts off with all the team at a course but Kim is called back early to see DCI Woodward. He informs her that someone she had previously sent to prison has escaped. This sets off a chain of actions that Kim is very unhappy about. The escapee is goading Kim in the most brutal way trying to get to her, to bring her out in the open. While all this is going on, Kim and her team are investigating what appears to be the horrific murder/suicide of a family, which is quite a complex investigation. Angela Marsons is a wonderful storyteller and superb at building tension and getting the reader to feel all manner of emotions during the course of the story. It was a very hard book to put down. I just wanted to keep reading it to see what happened next.

Ooooooo I did enjoy this one! When Detective Kim Stone rushes to the scene of a house fire, she’s shocked to discover it’s claimed the lives of two teenage children and their parents. But this tragedy is not quite as it seems. Each body is marked by a gunshot wound and the mother, Helen Daynes, is holding the gun. Wow!!! Wow!!!! Wow!!! This book is a total page turner and will keep you guessing with every page. Halfway through I thought I had it figured out and then BAM! The ending floored me... this author is a favourite of mine! Top marks ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A family of four are found dead in their home - all shot. It appears to be a murder suicide and unusually the wife and mother appears to be the perpetrator. Kim Stone and her team are ready to close the case when one last look at the crime scene makes them rethink everything. Stone also has to deal with the knowledge that a vicious criminal she put away has escaped and he vowed he would kill her if he ever got the chance.

Fabulous read - couldn't put it down. The series just keeps getting better.

Thanks to Netgalley, Bookouture and Angela Marsons for the ARC of this book in return for an honest review.

Six Graves is Angela Marsons 16th novel in the Kim Stone series. This series just gets better with every instalment. Kim and her team are called to the scene of a horrific killing. The scene appears to show a deeply troubled Helen Daynes has slaughtered her two youngest children and her husband and then turned the gun on herself. Almost a whole family wiped out in one go, just leaving the twin elder siblings who are both married and live in their own homes. If that wasn’t enough to deal with , a vicious psychopath has escaped prison and declared he will hunt down and murder Kim. Symes has spent his time in prison plotting his revenge on DI Stone for locking him away and denying him the promise she made to allow him to beat two young girls to death. Kim tricked him and he was captured and the two young girls were safe. Much to Kim’s displeasure she is not allowed to hunt for Symes, and to add insult to injury, she has to have a a police protection officer following her every move. Leanne is very good at her job but on a past case she caused Kim issues by withholding information to keep her charges safe. Now Leanne is living in Kim’s home and following her around wherever she goes and DI Stone is not going to make it easy for her, even though Leanne’s only job is to keep Kim alive whilst Symes is hunted down and returned to prison.
The characters in this series have become like old friends, the kind you don’t see often, but when reunited it feels like no time has passed. Six Graves packs a real punch for the reader right from the very first chapter. It would be an understatement to say this is a thrilling read , it is so much more and suffice to say, roll on book 17.

I wish to send my thanks for this much-appreciated ARC to NetGalley and Bookouture in return for an honest review. The author, Angela Marsons, has managed to keep her crime thrillers/police procedurals fresh and riveting through the entire 16 books in the series featuring DI Kim Stone.

Her characters are well developed and believable, and it has been a pleasure to watch changes in the growth of members of Kim's team. Kim underwent abuse and a horrible tragedy while young that caused her difficulties in relating to people on a personal level, but she has become very protective of her police team. In turn, they appreciate her leadership and work well cooperatively. She is sympathetic and relates fiercely with victims of crime.

This book reads well as a stand-alone, but it has been fascinating to read previous books in the series. Each new book goes immediately to the top of my TBR next pile.

Kim has been called along with other team members to a sign of smoke issuing from a family home. There has been minor fire damage, but a horrific scene awaits them. Two teenage children and their parents have been shot to death, and their dead mother is holding the murder weapon. It was discovered that the mother had a long history of psychiatric intervention for depression and the 17-year-old daughter was secretly pregnant. It looks like a family murder/suicide until Kim discovers clues that point to a strong possibility that an unknown suspect shot all four. How could this happen within a locked house?

There are many possible suspects, and it will take relentless police work to sort through and solve this dreadfully complex crime. Was it related to some angry employee at the father's company? The remaining family survivors are much older adult twins, children of the dead parents. The older daughter has a baby, and her husband has managed to obtain a prominent position in the deceased father's business. Her weaker brother is comforted and protected by his husband. A strange young male neighbour was later found hiding under the murdered girl's bed at the crime scene.

The family had secrets. Will the answer be found in the father's will or the business's financial records? Will the mother's psychiatric records reveal any reason for the crime? Why are the detectives looking into child welfare records? Will outside security cameras shed any light on the murders?

There is a secondary plot. A foul and fiendish psychopath kidnaped two young girls. He takes pleasure in inflicting extreme pain by punching and kicking his victims until they die in agony. Kim rescued the children and was responsible for him losing an eye in the skirmish. He has escaped from prison and has been planning to kill Kim in revenge after inflicting extreme torture. He has abducted two terrified young girls to draw Kim to their rescue and is watching her movements. Kim has been forbidden to interfere with the case and is placed in protective custody. A woman who Kim despises is assigned 24 hours a day to live in her home to see she is safe and goes nowhere near the newest kidnapping case. Kim's heart aches for the two defenceless children.

Will she be able to restrain herself from trying to rescue the children, or will she lose her position in the police force and probably her life? The suspense is maintained at a high level throughout this intense, exciting book. Highly recommended!

Heartstopping!! I always look forward to the next Kim Stone installment and this one was excellent! When a mortal enemy of Kim's escapes from prison, they are all hell bent on getting her no matter what! She has this to deal with along with the murder of an entire family.

Full of thrills, twists and gut wrenching emotion I loved this and read it in one sitting.

How does Marsons manage to make every book in this series better than the last?! Six Graves gets 10/10 from me!!
Another gripping, thrilling, twisted read with a perfectly balanced plot and a brilliant conclusion....... But will this be the last we see of Kim Stone? I hope not!

Loved it! I've read all of the previous 15 Kim Stone books and this one did not disappoint. I was lucky enough to get a copy in exchange for an honest review, but I already had it on pre-order.

No spoilers, but the story was excellent as always - full of twists; and in the background a threat to Kim Stone coming back from her past.

I found all the characters so likable that it makes it so easy to pick up one of these books. A huge shock at the start - and end - of this one though!

Six Graves by Angela Marsons

Another absolutely fantastic book about Kim Stone , the authors 16th novel of this brilliant character. I think I've read most of them and everyone just gets better.
I really don't know how Angela Marsons can keep writing such great books and I love reading about the cases that Kim solves along side her team.
