Underwhelming. I did not realize when starting that this was the second in a series - perhaps reading in order would have helped. I do like a easy read , where you can get lost in some messy characters - enjoyable. It was an easy quick read, but the progression was very slow.
thank you netgalley for this book. I so so appreciate it and love Elle Kennedy. her work never fails and this book is no exception. no it's not as good as off campus but still worth a read, the romance is still bingeable and great for a light summer read.
Elle Kennedy’s Bad Girl Reputation is a captivating contemporary romance that expertly blends tension, chemistry, and emotional depth. Set in the vibrant backdrop of college life, the story follows the fierce and independent Ledley, who is determined to forge her own path away from the expectations of her past.
From the outset, Kennedy's writing draws readers in with sharp dialogue and a fast-paced plot. Ledley is a compelling protagonist—strong-willed and unapologetically herself, she grapples with her reputation and the complexities of love. Enter the enigmatic and charming Jax, who challenges everything she thinks she knows about herself and relationships. Their undeniable chemistry crackles on the page, creating moments that are both steamy and poignant.
The novel deftly explores themes of self-discovery, identity, and the pressure of societal expectations. Kennedy masterfully navigates the nuances of Ledley’s character, allowing readers to witness her growth and vulnerability. The supporting cast adds depth and richness to the story, with friendships that feel genuine and relatable.
What sets Bad Girl Reputation apart is Kennedy's ability to balance humor and heart. The witty banter between Ledley and Jax is a highlight, providing both levity and tension as their relationship develops. The stakes feel real, and the emotional moments resonate deeply, making for a well-rounded reading experience.
With its engaging plot, well-drawn characters, and emotional resonance, Bad Girl Reputation is a must-read for fans of contemporary romance. Elle Kennedy has crafted a story that is both entertaining and thought-provoking, leaving readers eagerly anticipating what she’ll write next. Five stars! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Elle Kennedy’s Bad Girl Reputation is a sizzling second-chance romance that dives deep into the highs and lows of reconnecting with an unforgettable ex. When Genevieve West returns to Avalon Bay, she’s determined to leave her “bad girl” days—and her old flame, Evan Hartley—behind. But small-town life makes avoiding Evan impossible, and their undeniable chemistry quickly rekindles. Kennedy skillfully portrays the tension between Gen’s resolve to change and Evan’s determination to win her back, making for a story that’s both sexy and heartfelt. Bad Girl Reputation is perfect for anyone who loves steamy romances with complex characters and emotional depth.
I just want to point out that in my eyes, Elle Kennedy can do no wrong. This author really creates a beachy romcom read while also creating real-world problems. There are real issues in her stories that her characters face and it honestly makes me love the books more for making me feel for each of the characters in that way. Gen is lovable and misunderstood in the best kind of way, so that the reader WANTS to see her happy at the end. Evan is just this adorable golden retriever of a man that everyone can't help but root for.
The redemption for both Gen and Evan is so refreshing to see. Both knew they needed to change before they could be together again and the fact that they put in the work was nice to see.
I really enjoyed this one. The second chance romance aspect of it worked really well. And the writing was very fun.
So this definitely wasn’t a favorite from Elle Kennedy. I think her off campus series is so much better. I think the biggest thing that maybe me not love this was Even. He gave me the ick. I’ve never loved second chance romances so maybe that plays a part in why I didn’t connect with this story. I still love Elle Kennedy and will continue to read her books but this one was not a hit.
This one was a little tougher for me to get through as the plot was a little slow and didn't have a ton for me to grab onto. However, Elle Kennedy's writing is always light and cute and lends for a nice, stress-free read!
I enjoyed the first book in the series but THIS BOOK was it. I loved Gen so much & Evan going above and beyond to prove to Gen that he’s a good man… MY HEART. This book, their chemistry.. I absolutely ate it up. I cant wait to read the next book in the series.

I just couldn't get into the story unfortunately. I enjoyed the first one. But the second installment in this series just dragged on a bit and I wasn't very invested in the relationship or the chemistry between the characters
I love Elle Kennedy but I think I should just stick to reading her hockey romances… this series hasn’t been for me.
I loved that it was set in a small town and how she adds
so much details to each character and does a great job
developing them! I also really like the setting she created
of Avalon Bay.
This book has many parts where it relies a lot on the trope
miscommunication and it is one of my least favorite part
of the book. It made me very annoyed when they wouldn't
just talk to each other about their relationship.
Read this book if you like:
-second chance romance
-small town romance
-friend group
-series
Thank you to NetGalley for sending me an ARC in
exchange for an honest review!!
3/5 Stars
I have to say I think I enjoyed the first book more so in this case. I'm not sure if it was me or the book, however, I didn't really enjoy my time reading. I kept picking it up and putting it down. I found the writing disjointed, and I wasn't invested in the characters at all by the end of the book. Overall it was just okay, I think if you loved the first book, you will love this second installment
Elle Kennedy nails small-town love! After Good Girl Complex, I’m hooked. This, second-chance romance is a must-read, never wanted to be a character in a story that much until now!!! THANK YOU!
I absolutely loved and devoured this book! I love a second chance romance and this did not feel so trope-y. I also really enjoyed the fact this read a bit more mature. I couldn’t put this down!
I was a little lost in this one by Kennedy. I think this was probably a second or third from other books so I will have to try those and maybe try this one again.
"I grew up jealous of the flower beds she tended in the front yard" my heart hurt for little kid Genevieve, hurting for her the loss of her mom and the chance at a relationship with her.
I love a second chance romance, so I was looking forward to seeing where this would go.
I felt bad for the MMC and his twin brothers relationship in this one, it was much different than the first one. I found myself hoping that they grew closer, mending their relationship.
Evans a little trouble maker, too.
I found myself not being quite as interested in what would happen in this one as I was with the first one.
I dont like that it used the word "hella", that just seems like not professional writing, but thats more of a me thing.
I did like how Evan wanted to do community work to better himself, not exactly the fact that it was bettering for someone else and not for himself but you know, he's trying.
I didn't understand what it was that kept the two from being together for so long.
But also didnt understand why the two brothers were so rude to each other, I didn't feel like they were like that in the first book.
I didn't even know about 3 stars at some point. Could've been a much better book.
Thank you to #netgalley for the opportunity to review Elle Kennedy's "Bad Girl Reputation."
The second in the Avalon Bay series, "Bad Girl Reputation" sees Genevieve West return to town. Despite changes she’s made in her life, her bad girl high school reputation greets her upon her arrival. Also waiting for her? Her ex, Evan Hartley. Can Genevieve outrun her past? Should she?
This series is great to dive into for a light, summer read.
I loved ! This was a really cute sequel to the second one, and I loved getting to know more of the MMC.
Both characters were complex and working through their issues and in the end were able to lean on each other for growth, healing , and a way forward.
This series is super cute fun summer reads and I cant wait for more from this author!
