I'm not usually a huge second chance romance fan, but this one was really well done. While I did not love the first book, primarily because it had some tropes that I was not into. Evan and Gen had a story that was so much more enjoyable.

I wanted to like this book so much more than I did. I don't think it was bad by any means, but I was still disappointed after really liking Good Girl Complex.

i wasn’t so sure about this book when i started it because the first few chapters were pretty slow and the relationship between the two main characters seemed incredibly toxic. but thankfully, this book really turned itself around! this is a second chance romance between evan and gen who have been on again, off again lovers since high school. both characters have made some bad choices in the past and those choices allow this book to revolve around both people finding redemption for their past actions. gen gains a lot of confidence and really finds herself in this book and evan is a bad boy who has a soft spot just for gen 🫠 the spice was decent and i found myself really loving the characters and their stories. i honestly really enjoyed both this book and the first of the series!

A story about to complicated people, struggling with turning their lives around while denying their underlying chemistry.
I found issue with some of the pacing. I would be racing through slow parts and wishing other sections lasted longer, Although I appreciated the moral of the story, I was not invested in the characters and wasn’t necessarily rooting for their relationship.
Great if you’re looking for something centered on second chances (romantic and not), complicated family relationships and lots of sexual tension.

I got approved for this ARC before reading GGC so I had to make a mad dash to B&N to grab a copy and absolutely DEVOURED it. Book two BGR was just as good, I loved the story and the charcters (man why are these boyz such Snacks) The love story between Evan and Gen was just 😍😍😍, I could read about them again and again

I loved getting to read about Evan and getting to dive back in with these characters. What a great duet!

thanks for the arc, NetGalley. but this one missed the mark for me. It felt so toxic? It was hard to understand what age these characters were supposed to be because they acted SO immature I legitimately thought they were still in freshman year of high school. The relationship was hard for me to connect to because I thought the characters were all so unlikeable. Unfortunately the plot fell through. It was cyclical and read like a wattpad fanfic. If you are looking for a quick, easy, mindless read then this is perfect for you. Unfortunately this one just didn’t do it for me.

Thanks to NetGalley, the publishers and author for providing this ARC! Despite me not realizing until part way into this book that the was the 2nd in a series, you can still read it without reading the first. The author provides enough background info that it’s easy to catch up. The main characters’ dual points of views was great for insight into both sides of their stories and how they viewed the same situation.
It was interesting to follow the main character Gen struggle with her desire to find balance between her wild side and need for stability without totally losing herself. I gave the review 4 stars as the plot, dialogue and characters were a bit on the predictable side but still very enjoyable as the writing was so good and the overall cast of characters were fun. I can see how this will make a great series!

Miss Elle Kennedy has saved the romance genre once more with her beautiful writing! The character brings you into the story and keeps you involved. I loved this book so much and can't wait for her next one!

I love a good second chance romance so I was excited to read this book. However, this one missed the mark for me. I felt the characters were very self centered and immature. Although the two definitely had chemistry, there was no depth to their relationship and I found it almost toxic at times. The overall story and themes of family I really enjoyed. 2.5 stars

Better than the first in the series. I have to admit the quick turnaround on the MCs lifestyles - from drunken partying to volunteering in Big Brothers in the blink of an eye - was a little unbelievable. However, these two had a certain charisma between them that was quite fun to read.

I had really hoped to like this one more than the first book but unfortunately it did not live up to my expectations. The two main characters felt younger than they were and also felt outdated. I wanted to like the plot a lot more as well but it felt a little disjointed and wasn't as exciting as I'd hoped. Overall, I won't be continuing on with this series but I hope others enjoy it more than I did.

I liked this a lot more than the first Avalon Bay. Great second chance romance where you can see the characters really grow and change together and separately. Spicy. Fans of Elle Kennedy's other work will enjoy. But nothing spectacular or surprising.

This was such a good second chance romance I devoured this book in one sitting it’s funny sweet steamy and gave me all the feels I love small town romances adding a second chance to the mix and I was hooked! The chemistry between the characters was fire I loved the angst the emotions I just plain loved it!

Not my fave. I'm not a huge Elle Kennedy stan, so this was not really my cup of tea at all. I would say for those who love this author will really appreciate it.

This second installment in the Avalon Bay series fell flat for me. Elle Kennedy does a great job at writing her heroes, but her heroines seem to be lacking. They fall into unreliable tropes or personality types, as this heroine constantly contradicts herself with her actions.

If there's one thing I love it's toxic relationships and this gave me everything I needed. It does get better and less topic, but I also loved them in the beginning with the on again, off again, don't look at anybody else or I'll hurt you vibes. Gen comes back to the town she ran away from because of a family emergency, only planning to stay long enough to do what is needed, but of course her family needs her to stay. Insert Evan, the man she was running from a year ago. These two have the hottest chemistry of any book couple I've read in a long time, I loved them. I loved to see them grow together and make positive changes in their life (even if I did enjoy the toxic side to them too.)

The amount of times I picked up and put down this book is too many to count. I really tried to get into this book. I found the characters and storyline a little predictable and boring. Really hoping for more in the next book.
