Bad Girl Reputation is a great second chance romance with characters that have such a strong connection and history. I loved how Elle Kennedy had characters retell the shared history. It really helped move the story along and also showed the intense feelings attached to those memories. The storyline was spicy while also making me laugh and cry. A perfect return to Avalon Bay and a great summer read. I can’t wait to read whatever Elle Kennedy comes out with next!

Thanks netgalley and St. Martin’s Press for the ARC!

I can see where this was going, but it just completely missed. I didn’t enjoy the plot or the 2 dimensional characters. I love Elle Kennedy to death but this book just didn’t do it for me. I thought maybe this would be so much much better than Good Girl Complex (2 stars) but i was wrong. I don’t think i’ll be picking up anymore books from this series, shall there be more.

I have to admit, I have read a LOT of Elle Kennedy books and this was by far one of the best. It was such a refreshing change of pace (in ANY book) to have characters that aren't quite so perfect and are working to change that. I can't even remember another book in which I felt both the characters were actively trying to better themselves. I think I have such a soft spot for Evan because I love a man who will simp over his woman from the beginning and I usually don't really care for second-chance romances but I am glad I gave this one a chance. I hadn't had a chance yet to read the first book in the series but I didn't once feel left out or confused without it and honestly the first book has now jumped to the top of my TBR list. Can't wait for the next Elle Kennedy book, especially if it's apart of this series.

I LOVED this book! Elle Kennedy is an auto-buy author for me, and Bad Girl Reputation did not disappoint! This was a fast-paced story that I devoured in one sitting. You can’t help love the main characters, their chemistry is so electric! I can’t wait to have a physical copy of this book once it’s released!

5/5 stars!

Thank you NetGalley and the St Martin’s Press for providing me with this eARC in return for my honest review!

I absolutely enjoyed this book. A perfect beach read. Bad boy/ Bad girl + second chance romance in a small town = the perfect summer read. I sat down one evening and just finished this book. I liked the first book but there is just something about this one that made me read it in one sitting. I really enjoyed the banter and chemistry between Gen and Evan, Thank you for the ARC!

To say that looking at my emails on a Monday morning and seeing that you’re approved to read an ELLE KENNEDY book EARLY started my week off with a BANG is an understatement. I could not wait to leave work and start reading. And reading I did. Just finished on a Wednesday evening and I’m already thinking about rereading the Good Girl Complex— bought that the first day it came out!
I am a big fan and this deserves 5 Stars from me. Storyline, flow, character development, and an actual heart drop sweet moment.. Gen trying to be the reformed bad girl and then Evan and just all his funniness and sweetness, ugh! Blow Pops! The surrounding characters, the drama, the when will Gen finally freaking see she’s doing okay and that she and Evan will be okay together?! And then the nice little ending that ties up everything. Just LOVED this.

A BIG THANK YOU to St. Martin's Press and NetGalley for allowing me to read this ARC and to share my comments!

OMG! This book is so amazing!! Gen and Evan are a gazillion times better than Mac and Cooper. If you didn't like Good Girl Complex because you detest Cooper (like me) do not think about skipping this one!! Gen and Evan are such interesting and likable characters. So this book may not have had much going on action-wise, but it makes up for it in character growth (lots of groveling btw). (tropes: second chance, grumpy-sunshine, bad girl-bad boy,

"Bad Girl Reputation" is the second book in Elle Kennedy's Avalon Bay series. This is a second chance love story following Evan Hartley (the twin brother of Cooper Hartley from the first book in the series) and his childhood friend, Genevieve West. After abruptly leaving Avalon Bay a year earlier, Genevieve returns home to Avalon Bay to attend a funeral. When she runs into Evan they quickly fall back into their push-pull relationship, but Genevieve tells him it's time for them to grow up.
I loved Evan and Genevieve's character development! This story is a second chance story in more ways than one. Not only do Evan and Genevieve give their love a second chance, but they both give themselves a second chance to grow and learn.
I really enjoyed the setting of this book. Elle Kennedy does a great job of transporting the reader to the quaint beachside town of Avalon Bay. I love the ragtag group of friends that this series is focused on and I'm excited to see where the series goes from here!

This was super cute. I really really liked the character growth in this. I loved how Gen was committed to her goals and changes she wanted to make and stuck with them. I also liked how Evan was willing to better himself for the things he wanted. Overall, really solid read.

This was an enjoyable and quick read, but fairly predictable as a sequel to Good Girl Complex. I loved the character dynamics and that Evan got his story too. The wrap up felt a little rushed like maybe we could have spent more time with Riley and seeing Evan’s rewards from cleaning up beyond getting the girl.

All in all a good read transporting you to OBX or SC coast.

A nice return to Avalon Bay. The maturity level of this book was much higher than the first. I was glad to see great character development and redemption. Highly recommend reading this follow up to Good Girl complex to get the full story!

- Second chance love story
- Reformed bad girl/bad boy
- Childhood friends/lovers
- Small town love

Gen and Evan, were on-again/off-again all through out high school. Both characters always pushing the others buttons., and leaving chaos in their wake. However, after hitting rock-bottom Gen leaves Evan and the town behind without a goodbye. A year later the reformed bad girl is back in town dealing with the loss of her mother. She has every intention to maintain her reformed status, her ex - Evan - has other plans!

Such a cute story. Very fast-paced/easy read! with a touch of spice ;) Loved seeing Evan grow and mature!

After reading Good Girl Complex by Elle Kennedy, I knew that I needed to read Bad Girl Reputation! I really enjoyed the characters in GGC and was excited to enter the world Avalon Bay once again. This book follows Cooper’s twin brother, Evan, and his ex-girlfriend Genevieve, as she comes back to town to help out her family after the death of her mother. I loveeeed these characters! I adored the way that Evan thought about Gen and really appreciated the vulnerability of Genevieve. It’s a super sweet and easy read with really lovable characters. If you enjoyed Good Girl Complex, you will love Bad Girl Reputation :)

Bad Girl Reputation is a second chance romance novel with a lot going on. It is the second in a series, but can be read as a standalone book (I didn’t realize it was part of a series until I finished it).

While this is a love story, it really covered heavier topics: parental relationships, abuse of power, sexual assault, substance dependence, and growing up with jobs and relationships and responsibilities.

This book is driven by character development rather than plot. The main characters don’t exist in isolation- they have a community of friends and family and strong side character development.

One of my favorite parts of this novel is the focus on personal growth both within and outside of a romantic relationship. It feels like too often in romances characters lose themselves in each other… I appreciated the author’s work to create characters that were meeting each other as whole individuals.

Ultimately I gave this 3.5 stars (it was a little coming of age for me), but the writing is solid and I recommend!

Thank you to NetGalley and St Martins Press for an ARC.

I really enjoyed Gen and Evans story! Elle Kennedy does a wonderful job with her character development and the evolution of Gen and Evan in this second chance romance was no exception.

I would definitely recommend this book!!

A second-chance romance that doesn't quite feel as trope-y as I expected. While Good Girl Complex was light and easy, Bad Girl Reputation was emotional and felt a little more mature. Evan and Gen's history is dispersed throughout, without bogging down the reader with a backstory overload.

This book is driven by character development rather than plot. Redemption and forgiveness is a strong theme and we see it in several different relationships, but I think the strongest is Gen's forgiveness of herself. We experience her internal struggle very acutely and it is the driving force of the book.

In this series, Elle Kennedy does a fabulous job of creating a community— our two main characters don't exist in their own bubble. We see them interact with friends and family, and the personalities of these characters are noticeably different. Nothing about these interactions seems forced by the author.

This book gave us that epilogue after the conflict resolution that was lacking in the first book. We do get to see snippets of Mac and Cooper and I think Elle Kennedy balanced that page-time well.

So I was granted the opportunity to read this book before it comes out. Thank you to St. Martins Press and netgalley for this wonderful opportunity

Bad girl reputation is the follow up to Good Girl Complex and follows Evan and Genevieve. The pair were on and off all throughout high school; Genevieve was always known as the bad girl who liked to party and Evan was not too far behind her . One day Genevieve up and leaves without any goodbyes , leaving a heartbroken Evan behind . The bad girls returns newly sober and trying to maintain this new image while also resisting her strong attraction to her ex-boyfriend. Evan is still as infatuated with her as he was back then. Will the past hurts and toxic traits remain in the way and keep them apart, or will they learn to grow together and become something they couldn’t be back then?

So the first one was incredible. I really loved the second one as well. Both Evan and Genevieve had to really work through a lot to end up where the did. I loved how Genevieve really learned to open up to herself and learn to trust herself and grow as a person. She learned that you don’t always have to bury the past you to thrive in the present. You can work on being a better you but still be true to yourself. She had to learn to really do all that before she could let Evan all the way in. I’m the beginning Evan was really having a hard time with his feelings for Genevieve; he was selfish at first and didn’t know what to do about it, but then learned to take care of himself . At first he did it for her, but somewhere along the way he learned to do it for himself. The relationship between the two of them started off blaming the other for the mistakes of the past and some current issues, but eventually they learned they had to take ownership and trust themselves and each other . I honestly loved their story so very much. I hope she does more Avalon bay stories , because I want to see Alana’s story.

5 stars , and really solidifying my love for her work .

Bad Girl Reputation definitely wasn’t bad but I felt like something was missing. I’m a huge fan of the second chance romance trope and I did think Evan and Gen had great chemistry but I can’t put my finger on it. I just didn’t feel invested in their story. The writing by Elle Kennedy was solid and the side characters are intriguing enough to continue the series.

Elle Kennedy is an expert at writing easy, feel good books. Picked up Bad Girl Reputation to get out of a reading rut and it did the trick!! I love a good happy ending now & then. Make sure you read Good Girl Complex as well.

Thank you to St.Martins Press and Netgalley for this ACR in exchange for an honest review.

Im a huge fan of all of Elle Kennedy’s series and the avalon bay series is no different. I loved the first book, good girl complex and was so excited to receive this ARC. I love the story of Gen and Evan. Gen is a reformed bad girl, back in town after her mother passes away. She abruptly left Evan behind, feeling heartbroken and hes never gotten over her. They both worry they can never be together because they bring out the worst in each other but by the end of the book they realize that together they are the happiest.

I love the character development of Evan, getting involved with Riley and the nursing home. The Hartley twins are very loveable. Gen finally realizes that the stuff that happened to her with Rusty Randalls family are not her fault, and once she realizes that she lets her self be open to love with Evan.

I would recommend this book to anyone! Make sure you read Good Girl Complex first to read about Mac and Coopers story, and it also introduces Gen and Evan.
