#HappyPubDay (two days belated) to All The Best Liars! I finished this audiobook in two days, and I had to post my review because the ending was just SO good. Thanks for my ALC, @macmillan.audio and @flatiron_books! The orange cover inspired me to try my hand at homemade Thai tea with boba - and yes, it was delicious. The backyard view isn't bad either.
Genre: YA suspense/mystery
In one sentence: Three friends want to escape their hometown after high school - one will die, one will lie, and one will take the fall.
This audiobook was just what I needed for a tough week at work. Karissa Vacker's smooth, lyrical narration brought me inside the minds of Syd, Brie, Rain, and the complexities of their relationships. The beginning of this book is a slow burn (which is why I consider it a suspense rather than a thriller), but wow the last 25% or so was jam-packed. My jaw dropped a few times as I started to piece everything together - kudos to Kahaney for weaving such a complex web.
If you enjoy YA books or books about female friendship, give this one a try!
YA thrillers are a hard sell for me but I really enjoy Karissa Vacker as a narrator and I wanted to be pleasantly surprised. Unfortunately I just couldn't get into this debut story that had a great premise - three best friends get torn apart when one disappears and one dies in a fire. Unfortunately this was a DNF for me. I couldn't get into the story and it wasn't grabbing my interest by 20%. Much thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to listen to an advance review copy.
All The Best Liars by Amelia Kahaney was just as I expected! Freaking phenomenal!
The narrators did an absolute amazing job! I was truly locked into the story once I started it!
The plot is tight, the characters on point, and the ending totally surprising.
I was on the edge of my seat for most of the book.
If you are a fan of nail-biting thrillers, this one is for you.
The writing created a tense, the slow, creeping pace that was unputdownable and begged to be enjoyed in one or two sittings.
This is a great YA mystery/thriller for anyone looking for a suspenseful, twisty read.
I really enjoyed this one and would definitely read more from this author.
I was praying for this approval and I'm extremely thankful for the opportunity!
“I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.”
Macmillan Audio,
Thank You for your generosity and gifting me a copy of this amazing eARC!
I will post my review to my platforms, blog, B&N and Waterstone closer to pub date.
What a ride! I really loved this book. While it was a slow start, the twists and surprises really kept me going. I actually listened to the whole book in one day. The narrator did a great job with each of the voices and showed the anxiety, panic, evil, and love that the characters exhibited.
I can't wait to recommend this one. Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for letting me listen!
