This book had great characterization, excellent story telling, and made me want to keep reading. I will continue to read from this author and look out for their new releases.
Very quirky and attractive in visual style, though regrettably the story and character's are not quite as engaging.
Not my favourite manga to date but a nice easy read with beautiful illustrations. Story lacked a little something and wasn’t as engaging as I’d have liked, but the imagery saved it for me!
I didn't like this one as well as I'd hoped. It didn't tread any new ground. It's heavily based on the "she doesn't know how attractive she is" trope. There's a lot of objectifying going on here, lots of talk about Mame's body and her eating habits. It didn't push any envelopes about fashion or about the roles people play.
A very quick, easy read manga but also extremely cute and adorable.
It was alright, but i do not think i`ll be going on to volume 2.
It's cute but it's also a little much. I can't see myself continuing this series. If I can find it at a library or the next volume on Net Galley, then maybe I will read it, but for now I can walk away.
I thought this was an okay manga. I found the new manger wanting to prove herself by being that demanding fashion manger who is always telling Mame what she is doing wrong and how she needs to stop eating dumplings and other fried foods. I hope that the other volumes get better.
First and foremost, the cover is adorable, as is the artwork, but I believe the manga's interest and cuteness end here.
First of all, thank you NetGalley for this copy of manga: Mame Coordinate Volume 1.
Apart from the illustrations, there aren't much exciting sides while reading. However, I quite enjoyed it and the story's perspective.
The unique character illustration is a plus. It does not look like the common anime characters. I will still try to read the 2nd volume if given a chance.
Thank you for the arc! I decided to ask for this manga because I really liked to cover, but I have to say that apart from the drawings there is not much going on in this story that I like.
It's cute and easy to read, but it's not the best story I have read so far, nor something I will continue reading with interest!
Firstly, I would like to thank Netgalley for providing me with an e-arc of the book. This review is based on my personal opinion and enjoyment of the book.
To be continued.
Thank you to Netgalley and the Publisher for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I have to say that I'm a little bit disappointed by this manga, it was quite boring and nothing interesting happen here. I liked the art but the story not really much.
I found the comic to be super cute as far as fashion storylines go. The art is cute and the characters are interesting. While the main character seems super reluctant about even being a model, it is clear that the story should show her confidence slowly growing.
Mame Coordinate has a cute paster color cover and an interesting premise but lacks life.
That sentence is hard but also represents perfectly how I felt reading this manga.
I felt utterly disappointed in the manga as a whole. Not the style, the humor, or the story. The whole thing.
It's not something terrible, I still recommend reading this title to those who are interested and judge for themselves...but not in any other circumstance.
The story follows two newbies in the model industry, Mame as the country lost girl with natural potential as a model, and... another girl ( I can't remember the name anymore), a fashionista with a rest b*tch face that is working as an agent.
It sounds fascinating.: Two girls trying to find their place in the industry, one the clumsy and the other scary and sharp...
But why should I care about them? I don't know.
Sadly, Sachi Miyabe has poorly worked on making me care about them archiving their dreams...MAME IS NOT EVEN REALLY INTERESTED IN MODELING, SHE RATHER WORKS AT HER AGENT'S FAMILY RESTAURANT!
Maybe, since food is so detailed, and appealing in this manga, that should have been the plot: A bad model who has a happy life doing something she likes.
Total disappointment.
I could not really care for the story, the characters were a bit weird and nothing interesting really happen i was hopping for much more.
this was a cute, quick read. Mame tries to pursue modelling but has failed, with the role of Kisaragi from the agency she is determined to become a model. She lacks confidence and is socially awkward, but her natural looks has given her a second chance. I enjoyed Mame's love for food and am excited to see if she passes!

Mame Coordinate, Volume 1 by Sachi Miyabe was a lighthearted slice-of-life manga about a sweet, young country bumpkin who got scouted to be a model, but quickly realized she didn't have the money or skills to help her pass any auditions. This volume covers her getting a new manager and one last chance to win at an audition before the agency cuts her loose. Mame and her new manager train to get better and better...but of course the volume ends right before the audition! GAHHHH!!! I want to read the next one now!
Great art and characters and cute outfits for fashionistas out there; I enjoyed this one.
Thank you netgalley and the publisher for providing me with an e-arc in exchange for an honest review.
The artstyle was nice to look at but im having a hard time to like this one tbh. There are just weird moments and felt too fanservice which what i hate the most in manga. I dont like the characters in here, they felt one dimensional. The synopsis sounds interesting but the execution was lacking in many ways. Sorry to say i wasnt enjoying this at all
Mame has aspirations to be in the entertainment industry but she keeps failing her auditions. She is assigned a new manager that quickly breaks down her old habits and tries to rebuild her for success.
I am conflicted about how I feel about this book. If you don't look too serious at some of the problematic aspects of this manga like body shaming, food shaming, and the borderline sexual harassment, then it is an ok read. However, I was not really able to push those aspects and did not enjoy the manga. Additionally, I found the art style a bit amateurish with the characters not being expressive or unique. Unfortunately, I would pass on this manga despite my high hopes for it.
Mame Coordinate is a slice of life Manga bout a young 20 year old girl who was from the country side and got scouted to be a model. Moving to the big city she begins her work with an agency, but because Mame is from a small country side she has no experience being a model or even being confident in her own skin.
The Agency has had their last straw with Mame not getting any working jobs as a mode so they give her one final chance working with a new Manager. Kisaragi is pretty new to the agency but she knows her stuff, and she's paired with Mame to help her try to succeed for the last time.
This Manga hits a little home for me, back in my younger days early 20's I was a photographer and aspiring model. Ive seen the ins and outs of both sides of the same coin. Most of the things in this novel really made me stop and think. Modeling is a cut throat industry (One of the many reasons I left it.)
This manga gave me such flashbacks and feelings that just made me miss the industry.
This feels like its going to be a very wholesome Manga and honestly I can't wait to read more. I will be purchasing this for myself once it comes out on the 17th of May.
