Small short stories all linked to one character, Quinn, the Lonely spirit of the title. I enjoyed the detail and leant a bit more about the times in the US that the indigenous people were moved to reservations. Quinn's mother is comanche and his father is now the local governnor spending time is Washington. There were lots of questions I would have liked answering.

Well written I would recommend.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This is a story about a half-Indian half-white boy in the nineteenth century who is well aware of the brutal reality surrounding him and his people. When he grows up he becomes a US marshall, one of the best in the frontier. He makes true friends and some enemies too, one in particular. Life goes on and he... well he always seems to be old, wise, and reasonable.
The plot is slow, and melancholic at times. It´s not about fast action, but about the difficult reality, and the daily struggle of all kinds of people living there and then.
Unfortunately, the writing isn´t great and it does put a reader off. At times it feels as if a high school student was writing, especially the parts when the characters are talking to themselves.

It puts in perspective the white man (cornl & Veteran) who has anger and hate, and the white man who wants us all to love in this world.
Quin at 19 leaves his family in search of his white father, having tracking skills he finds his way. These stories are very touching and a great read.

several short stories or chapters really of quinn a half breed who becomes a U.S marshall, found it quite an enjoyable read, as i am not really a fan of short stories but this one i fell into

quinn at 19 left his indian family and went in search of his white father, being raised as a indian he knew how to track and those elements helped when he joined up with the marshalls in tracking down killers...

just wished each storyline had been longer as it was a very enjoyable read
