Number 3 in the ward investigations series. Definitely my favourite out of the 3. kelsey and ryan were brilliant characters and their enemies to lovers trope was really enjoyable
This is a good book. The two main characters are Kelsey and Ryan. Kelsey is a U. S. Marshal and Ryan is a navy seal. Together they try to find out who killed Ryan father, who was a sinister crime ring. They each have their issues but together they work them out to find love.
I really enjoyed this book. I had a hard time starting it at first but only because it was an e-book (I prefer physical books). Overall the book was good, it was easy to read and even though it was part of a series it was still something you could read without reading the other two and feeling like something was missing, there was just enough recap of the others books to give you the background for this book to make sense without being overly repetitive which I appreciated. One thing I didn’t like was that the main characters went from old high school rivals to partners to in a relationship after one night of sex and then to overused pet names (again just a personal peeve of mine) within a short period of time. Overall a good read and I’m glad I read it, I look forward to reading more from this author.
Thank you for this advanced copy which was a great read, I had trouble putting this down! I liked the way it was written and it made for an easy read. I would definitely recommend and look forward to reading more books by this author!
Third book in the series by Leslie North. Light and quick read that introduces you to the love story of US Marshal Kelsey Poppins and ex-SEAL Ryan Ward. If you haven't read the previous books you still will be able to follow-up everything, but will definitely be more enjoyable if you have read them. The story picks up from the second book and Kelsey and Ryan will try to find the last piece of the puzzle of the murder of Ryan's dad.
A big thank you to NetGalley and Relay Publishing for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. This is the 3rd book in a series. It reads well as a stand alone. I didn't quite understand Ryan's situation, and why he could not open up to his family. For me, this was not very realistic, but still a quick read. It is enjoyable. The bad guy is pretty predictably. I still find these interesting and they are such quick reads, I still enjoy them. 3 stars
This is the last of the Ward Investigation series, but no less exciting! This is an enemies to lovers story. This book picks up where the other two leave off, so may be best to read in order. Ryan Ward is back home helping to investigate his father's murder. They have caught the murderer, but there are more mysteries and unsolved murders related to this case. Ryan has a suspicion that someone in the US Marshall's office is involved. He questions US Marshall Kelsey, his old high school nemesis, about her boss, and she is determined to prove that he is wrong about this. If it is true, however, she wants nothing more than to get to the bottom of it. The two begin a fake relationship to try and uncover the truth, but it doesn't take long for things to turn real. The chemistry between Ryan and Kelsey was strong and undeniable. They were really great together! You will find danger, suspense, and action in this exciting end to a wonderful series! A very enjoyable and entertaining story for sure!
I received a complimentary copy from Netgalley and am voluntarily leaving my review.
One kiss was all it took to stop Kelsey the US Marshal from being rumbled in a secured government building when she was searching for a culprit who framed her friend. The Kiss came from former Navy Seal Ryan who gives her the cover story they are in a relationship… however Kelsey has NEVER has a kiss like that. That lie is the easy part.
These two join allegiances to try and nail the culprits to both their crimes.
Fast paced, twists, steam, definite chemistry and you have to read to experience the rollercoaster romance they find themselves on.
Always a page turner.
This is my honest review for a copy of the book from NetGalley.
A quick read with lots of suspense and drama. The bad guys are very quick off the mark in finding Danielle and baby Grace so there's lots of drama right from the offset. Shawn is good with children and so there are a few sweet scenes where he tries to help out with Grace. Danielle and Shawn make a good team although I didn't really like that their romance started before any sparks or chemistry could build up. It just felt that their relationship missed a stage.
The rest of the plot was good with Danielle's sister making an appearance. I wouldn't mind reading a book based on her in the future.
When I think of romance, I think of books just like this one, that gives all the feels and satisfies every romance junkies' heart. This is a perfect books to snuggle up with on any day. North is one of the best.
This is the 3rd book in this series and it concludes the murder mystery that started with the first book. This book is about is Ryan's story. Ryan is being discharged from being a SEAL and he has been very closed mouthed about his discharge in the first two books. In this book, Ryan is trying to find out who killed the prisoners while they were in custody. He meets up with Kelsey (their first chapter meeting is really cute). They have a history dating all the way back to high school. Kelsey agrees to help Ryan gather information on the US Marshall's office as that is the department that he thinks contains the killer of the prisoners. They quickly become involved and this is where the book kind of lost me. Their entire relationship (except for the sex) felt forced and rushed. I know they had high school history, but it just didn't ring true to me. I also didn't think their part of the mystery wasn't as good as the previous book (I've read book 2). Only okay. 3 stars
I've read other books by this author, specifically the Sharjah Sheikhs series, but this book was set in a different location than the others as it had a marshall (Kelsey) and navy seal (Ryan). This was a short romance that had a bit of a murder mystery.
This follows 2 previous books where Ryan's father's murder was being investigated, and in this one, they find the final reason behind the murders. They start off with a fake relationship to convince others at her office of his appearance, but they quickly become more real. I wish more time was given to the development of their relationship rather than the mystery so we could experience more of them.
I like the female MC's straightforward attitude as it minimized the amount of drama from miscommunication in the whole relationship.
In a particular scene where Ryan was trying to protect Kelsey by keeping her in the dark for a couple of minutes, I understood that she felt her skills were being undermined, but I thought she was being unfair considering everyone knew she was a bad liar and he made a pretty good decision based on his knowledge. Other than that, I liked her character.
Ryan was really sweet and I liked his relationship with his brothers. And now after reading about them, I want to read the other 2 books in the series.
I received an ARC of this book but the opinions expressed here are strictly my own.
I enjoyed the summary of this book and thought it would be an interesting read. I am sorry to say that it wasn’t (in my opinion) as there were too many parts of the story that weren’t believable. A US Marshal after losing a bet takes someone she has just met, an ordinary citizen to her office to look at confidential files and when caught he becomes her boyfriend; his issue with the SEALs and instead of being considered a hero for a successful mission, he was asked to leave and granted a discharge for mental issues. I have read and reviewed other books by this author, but this was not of the caliber that I expected. I tried and I am sorry, but I lost interest as the story seemed so unbelievable. I am giving this one star as I have no other choice. I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation for an honest review. (paytonpuppy)
Low angst romantic suspense
While this is the first book in Ryan and Kelsey's story, it's the third book in the Ward Investigation series and the case they're trying to solve continues through all three books. You might be able to read it on its own, but I'm sure it's better to read it as part of the series. There was a hint of enemies to lovers, but that was mostly in the past. I would call it more of a surprise kiss than a fake relationship, but I enjoyed reading it and would look for more by Leslie North.
I received a copy of this book at my request, and the opinions here are my own.
SEAL's Fake Relationship (Ward Investigation #3) by Leslie North
Publisher: Relay Publishing
Genre: General Fiction (Adult), Romance

SEAL's Fake Relationship is the third book in the Ward Investigation trilogy by Leslie North. This book can be read as a standalone romance or as part of the trilogy.
I thought this book was incredible! I loved the mystery and the relationship between Neal and Kelsey. This book wrapped up the mystery that was revealed in the first book and gave the reader glimpses into the lives of the other Ward brothers.
I loved how this was fast paced with great twists and turns! The plot was well developed and fascinating. I could not put this one down! I definitely recommend this reading this trilogy if you enjoy a good murder mystery with fascinating dynamics!
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This is the 3rd book in this series where we finally get the ending and full story of the murder and crimes from the first 2 books. This book is about the final Ward brother Ryan who is being discharged from being a SEAl. He keeps this secret from his brother's and dives into solving the rest of the crime revolving around his father's murder. In doing this he meets up with US Marshall Kelsey who he also knew and had a rocky relationship with in High School. They start out in a fake relationship in order for Ryan to work closely with her as a US marshall but they quickly realize the relationship is not fake to either of them. I did enjoy this book as well as the others in the series but it did lack chemistry for me. I didn't really get to see a lot of why they fell in love with each other and just couldn't feel a true connection. It felt a bit rushed and forced in some parts.
Finally the conclusion that I've been wanting. Ryan helps to find the last piece of what happened to his father. Kelsey is reluctant to help until Ryan starts making complete sense. Then she can't stop digging deeper into what's been going on at her work.
I enjoyed reading, Seal's Fake Relationship.
