An amazing plot and storyline, a beautiful yet heartbreaking relationship, and all of it happening in a small town??? YES PLEASE. This was really beautiful. I need to read Desmond’s book ASAP bc the ending omg you can’t just leave me hanging like that. Delilah and E are soulmates through and through you can just tell. They went through so much and I’m so glad they finally got their happy ending.

Favorite Quotes (that should convince you to read this NOW)
“Let me love you. Let me be with you. Let me pick out the shrapnel from your wounds until there’s nothing left but scars I’ll kiss better every night.”

“I missed Delilah always, even when I was with her. it was the strangest feelings I couldn’t put into words. I imagined it was how astronauts felt, surrounded by everything—limitless infinity and beauty—unable to touch the universe. Delilah was all the stars in the galaxy, so big and bright I could never quite hold all of her.”

I don’t read many of second chance romances but I really liked this one, I definitely need to read more. it was a really good book and I found the characters very interesting. I loved the fact that the story was only from Edgar’s pov, it was super refreshing for me as the books I read are normally from the female mc’s pov. I adored candy cane, she was adorable.

50 Ways To Win Back Your Lover is the first book I have read by Kelly Siskind and I seriously loved it so much!
Delilah and Edgar‘s story was just fantastic! It blew me away! Everyone knows how much I love second chance romance. And this one was just amazing! Slow burn, high school sweethearts, witness protection and second chance? Doesn‘t this sound promising?

I was rooting for the characters so much and especially loved E‘s personality. He‘s such a cinnamon roll character with a humor you will laugh out loud to.

It‘s been a few days since I finished it and I‘m still thinking about this book especially about Desmondn Can‘t wait for his book!

This is a good book. The two main characters are Delilah and Edgar. They have known each other all their life. They were boyfriend and girlfriend until about 10 years ago. When Edgar’s family had to to go in the witness protection because of their father working for the cartel. Delilah did not know where Edgar and his family went they just disappeared. Ten years later the cartel was gone everybody was dead, so Edgar’s family could come out and go back to their old life. So Edgar goes back to find Delilah and convince her to take him back. There are some problems but together they fall in love.

This is my first read from this author and I must admit, I was surprised. Based on the title and cover, I was expecting a total romcom. Instead, I got a story with a split personality – part romcom and part emotional plot rich in angst and depth. And I loved it.

The story is told from a single, first person POV – from Edgar Eugene Bower (“E”). Everything changed ten years ago when he and his family were ripped from their lives and thrown into WITSEC. This is the story of the aftermath and one man’s mission to reconnect with the love of his life, Delilah Moon, the young girl he left behind who was, undoubtedly, his soulmate.

I loved the way E’s mind worked. He was funny, quirky, sensitive, clever, and totally Team Delilah. Delilah puts up a good front but there is never a doubt the connection is mutual, but it’s the underlying pain and what happened during that missing decade that has created the distance they need to find a way to bridge. And it is through their love for each other, and that undeniable soulmate connection they share, that they are able to do it.

The story has highly emotional moments. You can feel the desperation and pain the Bower family has suffered in the last ten years. You see how they’ve changed. It’s not all sunshine and roses, there’s pain, heartbreak, and so much more as you would expect when someone’s life is upended. And while E thinks he’s the only one who has suffered, having the story unfold from his POV lets the reader see just how wrong he was. How the sudden disappearance affected those he left behind. I felt the ache of E and Delilah’s pain at their separation, and everything they missed during that decade.

This book sets the foundation for other Bower boy stories. I imagine Desmond’s story is going to be a heartbreaker. I’m so there. This was an amazing start to a series I can’t wait to read more about.

First, 50 Ways to Win Back Your Lover is the second chance romance between Edgar and Delilah. And the entirity of this book is wriiten in the male POV! Their story will have your heart.
I really liked the story in itself, it was well done and addictive. I loved the dedication of E in trying to win back his soulmate.
Moreover, the characters were super wholesome and I truly cared for them. I also enjoyed the dynamics and friendships between them all.
Last but not least, it was written perfectly and the humour was top-tier!
Overall, a very cute book that made my heart go crazy!

I was hooked by the premise of this one, but unfortunately was overall pretty disappointed.

The story is told from solely the male lead's PoV, which is rare and often quite unsuccessful, but this was done really well despite the long barrages of his regrets and self pity. He was the star of the book, albeit somewhat unrealistic.

The reason this didn't work for me was that the book looks deceptively like a romantic comedy or even a romance with comedic elements, but it was genuinely heartbreaking. There were a lot of discussions of mental health and self deprecation.

Wrong book and at the wrong time.

Thank you NetGalley and Kelly Siskind for giving me the opportunity to review an ARC copy!

I truly wish that I could give this more than 5 stars because that just doesn't seem like enough. This book was so beyond what I was expecting and I expect a lot from this author!

This is a true example of not judging a book by its cover, because the cover suggested to me a light hearted romcom, and this story is so much more than that. Told entirely in first-person POV by E, the principal male character (unusual for a romance novel, but it works), there are humorous moments thanks to his wryly self-deprecating voice, but there’s also loss and heartbreak and penitence as E tries to return to Delilah, the woman he was ripped away from as a teenager. Delilah herself is a wonderful character, strong and nuanced after all she’s been through, and the supporting cast in the town of Windfall are just that: supportive, without being too over the top with being nosy and interfering. I honestly laughed at times and may also have shed a tear or two - will definitely read further books in this planned series.

50 WAYS TO WIN BACK YOUR LOVER is the story of the impact of a selfish choice.

I really loved the story. One kind of humor it has is kind of humor that you could imagine a couple sharing with “inside jokes”, teasing, nicknames. Clearly Delilah and E spent years fine tuning their friendship and falling in love - until E disappears suddenly for 10 years.

And E is hysterical. He not only works well with Delilah, but he has a great solo presence. Many of the funny parts grow as they are repeated bringing the reader in on the jokes. There was only one thing I didn’t like about E’s character - he was 27, but came off as immature until close to the end. I am torn between not liking it and thinking his humor wouldn’t have worked with a more mature demeanor.

But joking aside, the story is heartbreaking - full of painful, tragic and self destructive events set into motion by the acts of a selfish man. Delilah’s small town residents carried and protected her from further pain. E, his mother and brothers had their lives derailed. And that is just the tip of the iceberg.

If you like wildly romantic second chance romance in a small town setting, you will enjoy this book.

Thanks to Netscape for the opportunity to read an advance copy of this book and provide my voluntary review.

This is a new author for me but I will definitely be reading more from her, I really liked the story and the premise of it.
Friends to lovers is my favorite trope and this one was so good. Told exclusively from the POV of the hero, 50 Way to Win Back Your Lover tells the story of Edgar and Delilah who were in love but had to separate and now ten years later they have a second chance at love. It is a story that gives us glimpses of the past, I really liked the placement in the small town and his family.
This is rom com, with a lot of heart, emotion, and a good dose of angst. I can't wait for Desmond's story. Highly recommended for fans of friends to lovers/ small town romance/ second chance

50 Ways to Win Back Your Lover stands out because it's told exclusively from the male main character's perspective.

After a decade spent in witness protection, Edgar Bower returns to Windfall to try and win back Delilah in this second-chance romance. I really liked the unusual storyline of this novel, and the small town of Windfall is the perfect setting. Both Delilah and E felt real and relatable. There are plenty of past heartache and misunderstandings to overcome, but lots of humorous situations for lighthearted moments.

I loved that the story was told exclusively from E's point of view as this perspective isn't something I've come across often before. I'll definitely be looking out for more of Siskind's novels, and having already met E's brothers, I am eagerly anticipating Desmond's story, which will be next in this series.

“We’re two meteors hurtling through space, about to collide in a burst of stars.”

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4/5

Finished The Book

Genre: Contemporary Romance

Themes: Friends to Lovers, Friends, Family, Small Town

Trigger Warnings: Talk of mental health struggles

If you want the feeling of receiving the biggest warmest hug of your life, along with a delicious mug of hot chocolate then you should read this book.

At first, I was a bit skeptical about reading an entire romance book based solely from the male character’s perspective. This is not something I am used to, but I am glad I gave it a shot.

Before jumping into the characters, there were a couple minor things I think could’ve been worked on: (Slight Spoilers)

The Cartel – I think the fact that they were just wiped out, all in one go was a little bit too easy/ convenient for the characters. I understand the characters have been through a lot, so maybe the author didn’t want to add more trouble, but then maybe the author should’ve started the book with the cartel already out of the picture. I feel like having them be this major threat in one chapter, and then extinct in the next felt a bit rushed, and not really believable.
Delilahs called off engagement – Again, this felt too convenient. This could have been something great to add tension between the characters. But other than these two points, the book did not disappoint!
Edgar

This is the dream guy. There is only one way for him to exist, and that is being ink on paper, because I think it is nearly impossible to be this perfect. He is charming, witty, hilarious, and so caring about the ones around him. There’d be times I’d literally be staring at my phone, laughing, because of E’s antics. And the way he was able to describe his emotions was so beautiful that I could instantly empathise with him. I can just imagine this book being adapted into a movie, and the movie being instant classic, because of the lovable characters.

My favourite Edgar quotes:

“When it comes to her, I’ll always be 199 percent pathetic.”

“She is the winged albatross of my novel, courages, and powerful, able to spread her clipped wings and soar.”

“You could churn ice cream on my level of cool.”

Delilah Moon

Firstly, this name. I adore this name. It’s so romantic!

Secondly, miss girl has been through it. Life threw a couple hundred curve balls her way, and my heart breaks at how much she has had to endure. But she came out strong, and I am proud of her!

Sandra

Can one even do this book review without Sandra?

My favourite Sandra part had to be when Edgar was texting her about his dog (Candy Cane):
E: How’s my girl?

Sandra: I’m fine.

E: I mean my dog. Does she miss me?

Sandra: She hasn’t mentioned anything.

In conclusion, this book was a great read, and I cannot wait to get to know the rest of the Bower Boys.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Thank you Netgalley for providing me with this ARC!

Until Next Time, Ariel ❤︎

I thought this was a really fun read, worth buying!

It's a story about E, and Delilah, small-town first loves, who are separated by a pretty extreme set of circumstances, and then finding their way back to each other ten years later. Lots of quirky side-characters, a fun small town setting, but it doesn't shy away from tougher emotional aspects of their two lives during their time apart.

An angsty romance about young lovers torn apart by the devastating betrayal of a family, this is a book that grabs the reader from the beginning. Readers who can suspend disbelief about some fairly unlikely circumstances (which I could, because the writing is that good) will soon find themselves drawn into Edgar and Delilah's story. Can the repercussions of past actions still playing out in the present be overcome by true forgiveness and affection, or are their wounds too deep? The humor inherent in small-town dynamics and eccentric characters keeps the narrative from becoming too heavy. The subjects of painful family dysfunction, depression, and suicidal thoughts are handled sensitively but may be triggers for some readers. The story also explores the hope of healing, both through therapy and through art. I'll definitely look for more books from this author!

This was a new POV for me, as in it was all in the male’s! I’ll be honest, I wasn’t sure if I was going to like it, but I thoroughly enjoyed it, and Kelly made it work wonderfully. E is just the best and I loved getting to know him and his family, the town, and of course Delilah.

Thank you Montlake and NetGalley for providing this ARC to review. ~I was given this book and made no commitments to leave my opinions, favorable or otherwise. ~

Y’all Kelly Siskind is truly a queen among us. Her romance novels are always equal parts, heart, soul, humour and deeply moving. So OF COURSE I am thrilled to be giving y’all an advanced review of her latest: 50 Ways To Win Back Your Lover. As always, thanks to NetGalley for the ARC. Thoughts below are my own. Enjoy!

Like I mentioned, Kelly has written some of my favourite romances to date (hello The Knockout Rule), and going into this one I admittedly had some high expectations. And friends, let me tell you she’s done it again. This was a FREAKING delight.

The premise is really great: we have E who ends up ripped from his life (and love) at 16 and placed into witness protection after his sh*tbag of a father was caught embezzling from a Cartel. The entire novel is told from his POV (which is a rarity in romancelandia) with equal parts laugh out loud commentary and heartbreaking longing.

This book will happily whisk you away from reality while you watch two broken hearted people find their way back to each other.

Delilah and E end up (through kismet) reconnecting at an airport (which let’s get serious is so romantic on its own) and after learning he is no longer needing to be under WITSEC protection, E is clear: he’s going to win back Delilah. One small problem she might be engaged to someone else. These two are clear soulmates, who are best friends first, so watching them figure out how to be friends again, and then lovers really did some intense things to my heart. The setting (small town), the epic love story (over 10 years), the tropes (only one bed), the grief, and the happily ever after made my heart soar.

Kelly is such a talent, and I am really excited for folks to meet, and fall in love with E, Delilah, Candy Cane, and the rest of the Bower Boys. Perfect for fans of Lucy Score, Tara Sivec and Meghan Quinn, 50 Ways To Win Back Your Lover is a brilliant heart first rom-com that is sure to delight. Grab yourself a copy wherever you get your books, September 6th 2022.
