I read this on kindle before the formatting error w the chapters was fixed. I decided to give the Audio a chance and unfortunately this was still a dud for me. I love this author and can’t wait to see what else we get!

Read this book if you like a whodunit, "The Real Housewives", and the intimacy of the South.

"You can tell when you're in a wealthy city...look for the green."

Jenny thinks that life is interesting to say the least. She runs a high end salon that services the women of Buckhead to make sure they always look their part. There is never a dull day in the salon with the drama that these women bring. Olivia is the assumed "Alpha Female" asserting her dominance at every opportunity she can. Karen is the independent business owner that speaks her mind, but ultimately follows the decisions of other. Shannon is the group's newest divorcee haven fallen as the leader due to her inability to handle the rejection. Then enters Crystal, the new wife, that unknowingly replaces Shannon and is brought into the group. What Jenny thinks is going to be just another round of drama turns into violence, secrets, and a murder that no one could have seen coming.

Well Jeneva did it AGAIN! Are we really surprised? My favorite thing about Jeneva's writing is that she always gives us a unique story and doesn't have a formula she writes to. Each character in this story was extremely well developed and you can relate to all of them. Diving into a story where you start out thinking that all the characters are superficial and have it turn to women who are well rounded and secure was a great adventure to read through. If you have read any of her other books, you will be delighted with this new story! This book is out April 26th!

Thank you to Jeneva Rose, Blackstone Publishing, Blackstone Audio, and NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review. I was able to toggle between reading and the audio and loved both of them!

Okay that ending though. Damn 👀👀👀

This one was a bit of a slow start for me and I think it’s because it took time for me to understand the flow and how it was all organized. Once I actually picked up on the formatting, it definitely got loads better and I really was able to enjoy it. I both read the eARC and listened to the audiobook, alternating between the two whenever I felt like changing it up.

Also, did I mention that the audiobook narrators were fantastic?!? Each voice matched the respective characters PERFECTLY. And I loved how each character was actually a different narrator.

This thriller was WILD. Think drama. Think the real house wives with a twist. I enjoyed it!!! I loved seeing it all come together because JUST WHEN I THOUGHT I KNEW WHAT WAS UP… BOOM. Plot twist hit.

There were multiple POVs, and then the timeline jumped back and forth between the present (police station) and the past.

I really like Jeneva Rose’s novels because they always have HUGE plot twists after you think the plot twist was already revealed!! Ahhhh! Also I say this time and time again. If I can truly HATE a character, the author is doing something right 👏🏼👏🏼

Thanks to netgalley & blackstone publishing for this ARC in exchange for an honest review!

Oh sugar, bless your heart! The Bravo lovers, old school fans of Desperate Housewives and the F bomb dropping mama bears will devour One of Us Is Dead. This book was fun as all hell and I want more of this town and this fabulous salon.
I had both the kindle version and the audiobook. I started the audio version as I jumped on my Peloton bike. I was drawn in right away and got so caught up in the story (and super fun narration) that I ended up doing more classes just to listen to this book longer. Then I switched to obsessively reading on my kindle where I lost a few hours of sleep because I wouldn’t quit reading. And then for the last part of the book I went back to the audio— LOVED.

Never a dull moment, sassy, foul mouthed fun and fancy ladies were just what I needed to pull me out of my book rut. Just good old fashioned fun.

Thank you to @netgalley, @BlackstonePublishing and @jenevarose for this eARC! One Of Us Is Dead publishes April 26!

This book made me want push one of the characters off a cliff.. 😤 Talk about toxicity, betrayal, and deceit. The women from Buckhead are straight out of a reality show where everything is about looks, reputation, money, and power. The ongoing drama between the 6 women in this book drove me insane. Between each person’s POV you could just tell how two-faced a person can be. Money makes people do crazy things.

This book was a slow burn. Gradually building up to what actually happened that night. Even though there was a reason behind it, I didn’t really enjoy how long it took to find out. The book switched around multiple POVs and jumped from past to present. It made it interesting, but some things were repetitive.

One Of Us Is Dead is definitely for people who love all the drama and anything luxurious and high end. Since this book’s all about money and what it can buy. I particularly do not enjoy these type of books. I’m all about thrillers, crime scenes, police procedures, and all the goriness.

I really enjoyed The Perfect Marriage by Jeneva Rose but One Of Us Is Dead fell a bit flat for me.

I love, love, love Rose’s books. They’re all so binge-worthy and easy to consume. This was no different! I was so happy to get an eARC via NetGalley after learning it was about a group of women in Buckhead. As someone who lives in Atlanta, I was HERE. FOR. IT.

I really enjoyed Rose’s multiple POVs. I thought it was really well done being able to see so many sides to this friend group. Out of the ladies, I only liked two, so some chapters included a few extra eye rolls! Not because of the writing, but the ladies of course.

Not only did I really like the POVs, but I really enjoyed the build of the book. We know someone is dead, but we don’t know who, nor do we know who did it until the final chapters. I sort of had it figured out, but there was one piece of the puzzle I didn’t see coming! The other part I didn’t see coming? The jobs these men held.

I will say, while the build was great, the reveal happened way too fast.

Because I received the eARC, I was sent a widget for the audiobook which I recommend as well. Each character had her own voice to it was easy to follow.

Comparing this to Rose’s Tik Tok famous book, THE PERFECT MARRIAGE, I preferred ONE OF US IS DEAD.

I'm halfway through reading this book while they come up with an audiobook format. I was so excited and downloaded the audiobook. It was so convenient, and now I can listen to it whenever I go. I love the narrator of Sharron. Her voice is a bit husky and the intonation of her voice is kind of off for me.

The features of the audiobook are easy to navigate, and I like it when you can control the time to stop. Normally, I will choose to stop at the end of the chapter so that I can keep track of the story. It took me only 2 days to finish listening to this book! Pretty impressive.

So, if you're a fan of the drama series of the Housewives, this book is totally for you, but for me, I'm not so into that and I felt that from the beginning of the book until 70% of it didn't capture my attention so much. Too much drama and it's kind of dragging without any motive, no crime, or suspense.

Only at a rate of 74% and above, will you be served by the scene or motive of the story in this book. So if you're not patient enough, I guess this book is not for you. However, the remaining 30% will satisfy your craving for a murder mystery book. You won't believe the ending and the plot twist at the end.

Thank you, NetGalley and the publisher for the book.

Like mean girls, but with murder.

You don’t know who has been killed…you don’t know who did it…all you know is that literally not one of these people can be trusted.

Pretty much every character has their own reason to make you feel icky. Some way more than others, but all a little sketchy

The story centres around a high end salon owner named Jenny. She knows all the gossip because she gets it from her over the top rich clientele who all appear to be friends, but also treat each other like total trash.

Throughout the story you’re getting to know the characters icky personalities and how their stories all tie together, while also knowing one of them is going to be killed - seemingly by one of the others.

Jenny is helping detectives get the full story and find the killer based on what she knows about/hears about her clients and their relationships.

There are twists and turns and characters you can’t help but dislike, but in the best way. And just when you think it’s over…there’s more.

This is a new favourite. For sure.Thank

Buckhead is filled with rich, and fabulous women, one more mean girl than the next! Jenny sees them all in her salon, Glow. She loves that he is the exclusive salon for these women, but doesn’t love the drama so much. When Bryce leaves Shannon for Crystal, things only get worse, and Olivia is determined to become queen bee after Shannon’s fall from grace. Chaos ensues.

Oh hello real housewives. Seriously though, I feel like I just read the first season of Real Housewives of New Jersey, and I freaking loved it! These women were just absolutely insane! This book was a super quick and enjoyable read, with all the stuff you look for in a bingable reality show! If you love watching the shows that leave you wondering how people could possibly be that nasty, calculated, or mean….look no further! You will fly through this one!

This book tho. I'd rather watch this as a movie than anything Bravo is putting out.

The characters are over the top. AND. I love that the husbands were just as in on it as the women... they were just plot ploys.

And Oliva? Bless her heart. Jeneva Rose wrote so bravely with that character. It would have been easy to just let her learn and grow.... bahaha

And the structure? From the Jenny's present day narrative to the past pov's? What a wild ride.

Oh and Cherry on the parfait that only Crystal would eat? Blackstone gets the damn assignment!

It is all labeled- timeline, pov, everything! It makes it so much more enjoyable when publishers do these simple things. Thank you!

The audio was a star-studded cast and they nailed it!

Ugh..I think I have to give this a 2.5. I Started reading this on kindle after receiving this as an eARC and almost DNF. I Got an email about audio ability and decided to try the audio instead. It got better only because I was dying laughing at the ridiculous accents they were giving the southern women and also the men 😂 I was 63% through the book and they’d only mentioned the murder maybe 3 times? And it wasn’t even for full chapters. It was too much house wives vibes and not enough thriller, mystery, suspense, crime fiction. These women were supposed to be in their mid thirties and were acting like they were 13-15 years old. That’s just not the vibe for me. The synopsis made me excited and they were also mentioning cities I lived close to, but then once I started reading I almost instantly regretted my decision. I am absolutely grateful to be given an eARC by #blsckstonepublishing for #oneofusisdead I’m just disappointed I didn’t enjoy it. As always, I’ll l always give an honest review! #netgalley

A great story, that gives you details piece by piece. I could not know who the victim was and who the murderer was till the end. It was a mix of Real Housewives and Big Little lies. Just with bigger secrets, more intense, I think. I keept guessing all the time who was the real bad one but it become clear that reaching the end. It was quite a feminist book. I missed a real man here but ok, a nice change. The end was quite a surprise, those actions I have never seen coming.

While reading the arc I received also the alc and was really nice done. I loved the voices, perfect. Thank you Blackstone Publishing and Netgalley for this great possibility.

After a months long binge into romance and going down some crazy rabbit holes (more on that later), I needed a palate cleanser and One Of Us Is Dead was the perfect choice.

“I always belived there was another option on the table- forgive, forget or ****** never let it go.”

The ladies of Buckhead are absolutely ruthless, and they’re in the middle of a power struggle. As someone who can quote Mean Girls on cue, this books is basically Mean Girls meets Desperate Housewives. And I absolutely devoured it. This was a one day binge read for me.

While this book would be considered a thriller, it was wickedly funny and sassy and keeping me on the edge of my seat while laughing at all the snark.

Join the ladies, grab a glass of bubbly and dive in, I assure you, you won’t be disappointed.

Thank you to the author @, @netgalley and @ for the advanced copy of both the ebook and audiobook!

Oooo I absolutely DEVOURED this gem of a book on audio and added on an additional star. I read the e-book of this one a few months ago and immediately picked up the audiobook when it became available. As someone who literally never rereads books, I completely tore through this one even faster than when I read it on my kindle (and I read it during one afternoon) sooo that says a lot.

The rich people drama on audio was so deliciously juicy and was perfectly done with a full cast. It completely brought all of the characters to life and I’ve never wanted to punch a character more than I did Olivia. Jeneva Rose writes such addicting and fun drama thrillers and I cannot wait for her next release!

Thank you so much to NetGalley and Blackstone publishing for both the e-book and audiobook for review!

Review⁣
Get your popcorn ready, because this was fun binge-worthy thriller. Told from five different POV’s and moving from past and present, this slow burn thriller had me guessing until the very end. While reading, it reminded me of The Real Housewives and Big Little Lies. Many of the women in the book were unlikeable, which worked extremely well. I guess that just goes to show, some characters we just love to hate.

Wow! The wives, the husbands, the secrets, the drama, the murder... just wow! Mix money with drama and you're bound to have a explosion of an ending. This book was just that too! I was sure that I had this book all figured out but of course, I was completely wrong. There were so many twists in this book, which is one of the reasons I love Jeneva's writing, and each twist made it that much better. The friend group that is "the wives" is so incompatible it literally makes no sense, which is why there is so much drama... obviously. And the husbands, I mean from the beginning you just know that all isn't what it seems. So happy I read this book and I hope others enjoy it as much as I did!

What happens when you get a bunch of pompous, rich, White women gathering in a high end beauty salon? You get the juiciest drama with one of them dead. Oh, add in to the mix, the equally pretentious husbands and you know that constant, dreadful feeling of a looming disaster!

Each chapter is dedicated to every female character so we have chapters with the four wives, the salon owner and the salon assistant. It will become quickly apparent to you that one of the wives, Olivia, is the worst and most annoying and most unlikeable character of them all. Honestly, I can’t imagine how Jeneva came up with such a negative character and I’ll be sure to slide into her DMs and ask her just that! However the other characters aren’t a whole lot better although some women will also surprise you at certain turns!

My most favorite part of this book is that Jeneva teases us on the identity of who is dead as well as who did it till the end. But we’re peppered with the police investigation throughout, so as a reader, I was constantly playing detective and of course I was dead wrong (pun intended) on the reveals of the killer and the killed.

This is the perfect book if you want a thriller that reads like a binge reality TV show or if you’re into juicy, rich-people-problems drama! Highly recommend!!!

On a side note, this book is nothing like 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗚𝗶𝗿𝗹 𝗜 𝗪𝗮𝘀, which is also a 5 star read! Honestly, Jeneva is an auto buy author at this point and I’ll even read if she writes a textbook on Malacology.

Edit: The cast of narrators who narrated for each of the main 5 women characters did a great job! The only thing I felt was the narrator portraying Olivia sounded much nicer than the person in the book. Overall great narration cast and awesome book!

This book took me a little while to get into, but wow, once I did? I was totally hooked.

It’s like the best episode of “Real Housewives” mixed with “How to Get Away With Murder”, with all the cattiness, backstabbing and well… murder. As I got more into it, about 20% or so, it started to feel like a car crash you can’t look away from, in the best possible way. I honestly didn’t think I’d like it quite as much as I did.

Thank you to NetGalley, Blackstone Publishing and Jeneva Rose for the advanced copy in exchange for my honest review. One of Us is Dead is set to be published in April 26th, 2022.

- Thank you to NetGalley, Blackstone Publishing, and Jeneva Rose for this advance Audiobook ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I really enjoyed this book when I was able to read it a few months ago but I LOVE the audiobook! The narrators did such an amazing job and really embodied each character and made them come to life! It was so entertaining and I could easily picture each character and each scene and I really felt like I was part of the book. It was the perfect combination of mystery and Real Housewives drama!

If you like audiobooks, I highly recommend checking this one out! 4.5 stars!

The Town of Buckhead - more riches than people know what to do with. Plastic isn't just their credit cards. It's all about status and holding the power in this town. Jenny, the owner of the most well known salon "Glow" who is the key to everyone's secrets and darkest desires. So when former queen of the town Shannah Madison gets "dethroned" by her cheating, politician husband Bryce, for a Texan girl named Crystal, all bets are off. Shannon sets out to seek revenge. But as Crystal steps into Shannon's shoes as Bryce's new wife, she is quick to realize that maybe marrying him was a mistake. As if Shannon hasn't dealt with enough, insert Olivia, the towns gossip mean girl "Regina George" who despises Shannon and will do anything to be in control. Who will survive Buckhead - and who will end up dead? Does Jenny hold the secret?

"Get in loser, we're going drinking!" Jeneva has written another clever "housewife" thriller that you won't want to put down. A real housewives meets pretty little liars remake. I messaged Jeneva a few chapters in, telling her that I hated Olivia. She laughed and said "perfect!" and that continued throughout the whole book! I wanted to throat punch Olivia so many times. You really get the Regina George vibe from her. She is egotistical, full of herself, and MEAN. I loved the past and present - and even though it's hard for me to grasp multiple POV's (5 total in this book). It was easy enough to navigate and understand since each woman easily had their own mini stories on top of the plot that someone is dead. It is a slow build but the ending is so well worth the wait!
