◘ Multiple narrators for the different characters YESS! All the ladies did so well. Really enhanced the story.
◘ Definitely hooked me right away, which has been so difficult lately. Out of nowhere, I was like wow, I'm 35% in!
◘ So much cattiness. I loved it. Dramatic, fast-paced, slightly over the top, but hilarious.

◘ The ending felt a taaaad bit rushed. And I kind of had 75% of it figured out, minus the stuff you learn toward the end. But this didn't impact my rating much at all.

This was such a fun read, if thrillers can be "fun." Not sure what it was exactly that kept this from 5 stars, but it was exciting nonetheless. There was no POV that I didn't want to read about, which sometimes happens with multiple narrators. I enjoyed every single one! One Of Us Is Dead is by far my favorite from this author.

Thank you Netgalley and Blackstone Publishing for the opportunity to read this book in return for an honest review!

I loved how author Jeneva Rose was able to weave a wonderful web on Georgia elites in her latest novel ONE OF US IS DEAD. Every second I always second guessed myself about who died and who-dun-it! I was captivated from the very beginning wasn’t able to put it down. I loved the short chapters and how fast paced it was. Make sure to check this out as soon as you can!

I do wish that there was a bit more diversity in the character voices, though. There were plenty of times I had to pause and figure out who was speaking this time around. Either way, I throughly enjoyed this audiobook!

Short synopsis: 4 wealthy housewives in Buckhead and a salon owner who knows all their dark secrets. Who is really your friend, and who is a backstabbing greedy “friend.”

My thoughts: I was immediately sucked into this story of betrayal, blackmail, trying to one-up your neighbor, and a tangled web of secrets a lies. This one had me guessing until the very last pages, and I loved how it played out at the end!

This is my second book by @jenevarose and I can’t wait to read her first thriller The Perfect Marriage! I did a mix of reading through audio and the physical book, and gave to say I loved the full cast of narrators!

Read if you’re a sucker for:
* Multiple POV
* Short chapters alternating between characters
* Real housewives meets Mean Girls (in fact Mean Girls is so fittingly referenced)

Thank you so much @blackstone for the #gifted physical copy of this book, and to @netgalley and @blackstone for the audio version. This one is out now… what are you waiting for? Get it now!

One of Us Is Dead IS MUST for your TBR. Listening to this multitalented cast of voices had Jeneva Rose’s devastating cast of characters coming to life. The audio recording kept me on my toes, listening at every opportunity to unwrap the mystery that is.

✂️ Thriller lovers will die over this scandalous tale.
✂️ ADDICTING mystery. Seriously who's dead? You'll want to flip the pages to find out
✂️ @jenevaroseauthor writing style Madrid this a super quick, delightful read
✂️ The audiobook was told with multiple narrators! And one of mu favorites: Elizabeth Evans!
✂️ Jeneva is someone taking the publishing world by storm and for good reason

I LOVED this book and am so grateful to @blackstonepublishing and @netgalley for my arc and audio copy! Any thoughts/opinions are my own.

One of Us is Dead is a classic 'who-dun-it' following wealthy wives, their drama and somebodies death. It sort of reads like a YA version of 'Big Little Lies' even though it definitely is not a Young Adult book. Though it dealt with adult characters, murder, and adult drama, the vibes of it felt very immature.
I enjoyed the multiple perspectives, and though it isn't going to be a new favorite book of mine it was an enthralling enough mystery.
One of the narrators sounds exactly like Selena Gomez which I loved so much. Such a good voice!

If the Real Housewives franchise took their most villainized women and had them meet in a beauty salon, paired them with husbands just as terrible... you get 1/5th of this book. Add in some pure evil, a few good hearts, some death, and there's One of Us Is Dead. I cannot express enough how much I enjoyed this book. There were moments of audible laughter and shock, the characters are written perfectly, and it's an overall fun read if you enjoy eavesdropping on other peoples drama. This book has tons of it!

So. Much. Drama. And in the best way. The women in this book are like the Real Housewives gone wrong. Their dynamic is wild. I really can’t believe “friendships” like this exist but i guess it would be like the mean girls in high school grew up and got rich. There are scandals and backstabbing left and right. But mostly all from one woman in the group who I loved to hate. She stomps all over everyone to get her way which would have me running the other direction in real life but in this book it was so deliciously entertaining.

Right off the bat they have back and forth power grabs. Which is just insane to think of in a friendship, fighting for who is the leader. It felt like Jax from Vanderpump Rules getting into arguments with everyone over who’s the number one guy in their group. Hint: if you have to forcefully yell at everyone about this, it’s not you.

I also really loved the beauty bar where they all hung out. I probably couldn’t afford to get a pinky toe painted in there, but it seemed like such a fun hang out, you know, if your friends weren’t all catty and calculated. But I would love to be a fly on the wall at a place like that. Which is basically what we’re getting with this book. Overall this was such a fun read and I gobbled it up. As a reality tv enthusiast, it was right up my alley.

Thank you Blackstone Publishing for this book in exchange for my honest review.

This book was “Stepford Wives meets Bad Moms!” I LOVED it from cover to cover! The pettiness and the absolutely pathetic attitudes of the women in this story were just perfect for this reader to consume this entire book with major gust. Jeneva Rose does a FABULOUS job of character portrayal and development throughout One of Us is Dead and I will forever be a fan of her work! Get this book NOW!

ONE OF US IS DEAD review

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

✂️Happy Thriller Thursday! Celebrating with a review of my latest thriller read. This one was so good! There were multiple POVs, but I felt like they were all easy to keep track of. I loved the way the author wrote this book. Not only are you trying to guess who the killer is, but you’re also trying to figure out who the victim is. The flashbacks to the past combined with the present timeline made this one so much fun to read!

✂️Here’s a summary of the plot:👇
The housewives of Buckhead are extremely competitive about everything. From their appearance, to their homes, to their husbands, nothing is off limits. Jenny owns the salon that all the housewives frequent, which means she gets to hear all of their dirty secrets. She knows how truly evil and deceptive all of these women can be. When one member of the group winds up dead, the hunt is on to figure out who the killer is. But in a group where everyone has a dark secret, the killer could be anyone.

✂️I felt like the beginning of this one started a bit slow, but once I got to the first major plot twist I couldn’t stop reading it! I didn’t see the ending come at all and it blew me away. I really enjoyed this one and definitely need to read more by this author!

This book had me hooked from the beginning. It’s about a group of rich, gossipy, back stabbing women. But as you get to know them and more is revealed you see the deeper stuff going on. I loved that it was set in Buckhead and yes a lot of these women sound familiar ha ha. The audiobook narrators were terrific and I enjoyed the different voices.

Rich women behaving badly with a whole lot of betrayal, backstabbing, and lies. All in all, it was a fun guilty pleasure read - definitely pick it up if you loved Nicolette Sheridan in Desperate Housewives!

"if he could do this to her, what could he do to me?"
rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️✨

This book was perfect for a quick thriller read, it kept me engaged and interested, and I really loved the housewives feel of it all!

I read THE PERFECT MARRIAGE by Jeneva Rose a year or so ago and really enjoyed it, but I thought it was slightly predictable as far as who did it and why. I really liked that this one was more of a mystery leading up to a murder with back story than an after-the-fact investigation.

With multiple POVs, gossip, rivalries, affairs, and more, this book was tightly written into a super interesting murder mystery. What I thought made this book incredibly unique was that you don't know who was murdered until the end of the book, so being able to guess who was murdered, why they were murdered, and who murdered them was SO FUN. I had so many guesses throughout and I was wrong on all of them.

That said, one of the things I didn't like was that I thought the ending felt a little bit rushed / information dumpy by trying to unveil all of the information we needed to know surrounding the murder itself at the very end of the book.

I thought this audio and the narrators were fantastic. Each character being voiced by a different narrator really brought the characters to life with their own personalities and nuances that gave you a better sense of who they were as people.

Thank you to NetGalley, Macmillan Audio, and Jeneva Rose for a copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review!

One of Us Is Dead by Jeneva Rose

I was a big, big fan of Rose's first book - The Perfect Marriage. I still think about that ending, so I was super excited to read her newest thriller, One of Us Is Dead.

Y'all know that meme that says... "Is it me? Am I the drama? I don't think I'm the drama. Maybe I am." Well it's all I could think about the entire time I was reading because there is so much drama and I loved it. Maybe it's because I'm a pretty nosey person, so I loved getting all of these women's perspectives and secrets. The multiple POVs worked so so well in this novel.

I also loved that you obviously know someone died because of the present day chapters that are sprinkled in, but WHO?!? Not finding out until the last 5% of the book also worked. I guessed throughout, but it was always changing based on little comments here and there.

If you're a fan of a quick, fun, and twisty read then you should 100% pick this one up! 💋

Calling all Desperate Housewives, Real Housewives, reality TV lovers!!!!!

Welcome to Buckhead where the glam is on full display, the wealthy run the town, and the women reign opulence and terror over everyone.

Told from multiple viewpoints from women in the same friend group (using the term “friend” very lightly), we learn that someone is dead but we don’t know who or how. The book takes us through the timeline up to the present, sparing no details or drama.

The epicenter of it all is Glow, an upscale, members only salon and spa, run by Jenny. Jenny casually and quietly observes all of the drama amongst her clients, getting to know them better than anyone else.

One disgraced member of society and the salon is being usurped by another and the sabotage is out of this world. The other women are forced to take sides while the former Queen Bee and the new Wannabe Queen Bee duke it out high society style. The lies, secrets, and crimes will have you guessing until the very end.

Thank you so much NetGalley and the publisher for an audio copy of this book in exchange of my honest opinion.

First thing that grabbed my attention? The title. The second one? The cover. Do I regret judging this book by its cover? Absolutely not.

This book was great! It has everything I ask for in a women’s thriller!

That being: gossips, rivalry, betrayal, jealousy, lies and lots of lots of drama!

In One of us is Dead, we follow five women (Shannon, Crystal, Jenny, Karen and Olivia)in Buckhead, a town where appearance and looks are everything but where also, behind closed doors, things are very different.

The story was told by the five of them, which made the story the more interesting because you could actually get to know what each of them thought about what was going on in Buckhead.

I found myself flying through the book in just a few days and I have to say, I really loved it!

This book is completely fun and escapist and enthralling. For fans of scripted television series like Desperate Housewives or Devious Maids, or devotees of reality TV like any Real Housewives franchise, ONE OF US IS DEAD is the type of book that may get "non-readers' back into appreciating contemporary fiction.
Jeneva Rose's account of the women of Buckhead, the "Beverly Hills of Atlanta" is WAY over-the-top, in a great way. Home base is a salon where the rich women are constantly spending money on making themselves beautiful, gossiping and gaining power and leverage over each other.
The villain, Olivia, is VERY over-the-top, so there were a couple scenes which took me a bit out of the story because she was so one-dimensional, but it was fun to root against her and encounter her jaw-dropping thoughts.
Very enjoyable

Prepare for "Real Housewives of Atlanta" meets "How to Get Away with Murder."

This is the first book I've read in a while where my attention never strayed even once! In Buckhead, the most affluent part of Atlanta, a group of high-society women gather at Glow, the most popular salon in the area, for spa indulgence and gossip. Except for Jenny, the salon's owner, and her assistant, all the women married into money. But their lives are about to change. Each woman is hiding a secret--and so are their husbands. Told in alternating POV and in a bookend flashback format, we know that one of these women will die before the book ends. The questions we need to discover are which one, and who killed her?

Equally disturbing and hilarious, the scene and time shifts throw out red herrings like pitches at a Braves game in extra innings. Each time you think you know who's going to die, you're wrong. Each time you think you know who did it, you're wrong.

The audiobook is brilliantly narrated by several women who each bring their character to life. Even though I could never stand to watch a single episode of Real Housewives, the mystery and tension in this book kept me hooked right from the opening chapter. Big thank you to the author, Blackstone, and Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review this book.

This is my second time reading One of Us is Dead, this time via audiobook, and the narration cast absolutely SLAYED!

Put this on your TBR and library request lists right now, because this one is amazing.

One of Us is Dead gives Big Little Lies vibes in Buckhead, Georgia. Exclusive salon owner Jenny and her pampered clients, along with Texan transplant and breath of fresh air Crystal, find themselves drawn both tighter together and further apart as secrets and lies stack on top of each other. “They say that friendships can be complex, but no one said it could ever be this deadly.”

I had to collect my thoughts about this book because I was blown away. I stayed up all night to read it, and Jeneva Rose’s pacing kept me flipping pages like a mad woman. And then when I finally got to the big reveal, I couldn’t pick my jaw up off the floor.

Totally worth losing sleep over this five star read. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

**Many, many thanks to #NetGalley and Blackstone Publishing for the ARC in exchange for my honest review. My opinions, however gushing, are my own.**

Audiobook from Netgalley. I didn’t love it and didn’t hate it. The audio sounded a bit weird/robotic which was distracting. I think reading the physical book wouldve been easier to follow all the different characters. I did appreciate the different voices for each character. Typically I love short chapters, but these were almost too short while listening - so many shifts in character perspective that it was hard to keep track of which point of view I was in.

Not till the end did I even know people were dead (except for the title of the book) so either I missed something early on, or this was a very slow burn with a giant reveal at the end.
