(12/14/2022) 3.5 stars rounded up to 4. Tis the spicy season! A cute little romance with great representation, positivity, and an entertaining romance. The book went on a little too long but I enjoyed it a lot.
#AMerryLittleMeetCute #NetGalley So fun and really sweet! Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read and review this novel. I encourage you to check this one out! Really great read.
I loved everything about this book! I loved the spicy...the meet cute factor...the main characters "secret" obsessions with each other...the body positivity...the setting! This book was wonderful!
I cannot wait to see if this amazing author duo jump back into this world because I would!
This was a perfectly fine christmas romance, but I think it was overhyped for me so I was expecting a lot more
Loved how sex and body positive this story was. I think it took a traditional holiday romance and revved it up! Would recommend to readers looking for something sweet and steamy this holiday season!
A Merry Little Meet Cute by Julie Murphy and Sierra Simone is the fun, steamy, holiday romp I was dreaming of! You will love this book if you love a bit of Hollywood, come backs, behind the scenes holiday movies, a Christmas village and a HOT connection. Love that this book is full of all kinds of positivity! I want all the sexy and powerful plus sized heroines that I can get! Cannot recommend enough! Read the plot summary for a background but the book is so much more.
Thank you so much for the Advanced Read. All opinions are my own.
A Merry Little Meet Cute is a STEAMY (!!!) holiday story that takes place on a Christmas movie set. The characters come to life on the page and the quaint Vermont setting is perfect for a budding romance. Rated NC-17 for adult content / NSFW.

I’m fat, I’m queer, and I love this book right here! I can’t count the amount of times I laughed out loud, it was so funny! And so heartwarming! And of course, steamy AF. This was exactly what I needed to get into the Christmas spirit. Now give us a sequel. 🤨
Overall, I enjoyed most of A Merry Little Meet Cute but I did have some issues with it. I loved the premise of it and thought it was a totally unique story. My biggest issue with this was that it felt a little too long. I usually don't mind it when books are longer but only if it's length is helping progress of the storyline. In this case, I just felt like it was too long without adding anything to the story. It got a little convoluted with so much going in in the middle that I kind of wanted to hurry up and finish it.
This book had lots of spice and romance while teaching how important family is and it doesn't have to look a certain way. I loved the 90s and 2000s boy band nostalgia and how women are beautiful no matter what. I'm glad there's 2 more books in the works.
This book was Everything For me.
This Body positivity, The breaking stereotypes, the christmassy feel.
I devoured this book, It was everything i want in a book and more.
I loved the characters with my whole heart. Their development throughout the book was great, their banter was *Chefs Kiss*.
Sierra and Julie really hit this one right on the head, In a world where a lot of things in this book are such a hot topic and changing into new norms it was so nice to see all of this wrapped up in a nice little package, with a pretty bow on top.
i can not wait for more from this duo and this world they've created!
This was pretty much exactly what you’d expect from reading the synopsis! I wanted it to feel more Christmassy. Also kind of cringey at times and some plot points didn’t feel necessary. Overall, this was good if you want a steamy, easy to read book you can read in a few sittings!
Ya this was a miss for me. I was drawn to the this book for the cutesy cover, themes of body positivity, and the idea of a “meet cute”. I would not identify this as a meet cute or even an intriguing rom/com plot. However, it was very body positivity, hence the 2 stars.
Sincere thanks to NetGalley & Avon for an advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest review.
I ended up not finishing Merry Little Meet Cute. It didn’t match what I was expecting so I found it hard to get into this one. I know many others will enjoy this book.
Bee Hobbes is a successful plus-size adult film star under the stage name Bianca von Honey. When her producer casts her in a clean Christmas move for the Hope Channel, Bee is ready to take her career in a new direction. Her co-star will be Nolan Shaw, a former boy band singer whose career ended with a scandal. Nolan decided to do this movie to make extra money to help his sick mother and young sister. As soon as they meet on set in Vermont, Nolan recognizes Bee as Bianca von Honey because he subscribes to her ClosedDoor channel. Things heat up between them, but they have to keep their relationship a secret so that Bee’s other career isn’t discovered and their movie isn’t cancelled.
This was a super steamy read! There were some funny holiday-themed romance moments that were a little silly, but it was a good story too.
I liked that even though Bee and Nolan each had big secrets that they were keeping from almost everyone else on set, they knew each other’s secrets. I was surprised because usually the love interests in a romance are keeping the huge secrets from each other but in this story, the tension comes when everyone else discovers the secrets. Bee’s and Nolan’s secrets bonded them throughout the story and made them have an intense and steamy romance.
A Merry Little Meet Cute is a steamy holiday rom com!
Thank you HarperCollins Canada for providing a digital copy of this book.
Fans of Hallmark romances and Christmastime stories who like some extra spice will enjoy this steamy holiday romance. Featuring quirky characters and nontraditional heroes and heroines, the story takes the holiday romance trope to a fun and different place.
I could not have loved this book more. A plus-size protaganist, a former boy band, two bi babes, respectful conversations around sex work, incredible queer cast, etc etc. I loved the meta Hallmark setting of it all, and really just had a wonderful time reading this thoughtful and steamy book. 10/10 recommend.
I enjoyed this take on a cozy Christmas novel. To be honest, most holiday reads are from the female perspective, so I enjoyed reading from both characters' points of view. It helped me to understand the characters more fully.
This one was just OK for me. I really appreciated the fat-rep and the bisexual rep -- you don't see a lot of that in romance (especially with both characters being bisexual). But the story didn't quite grip me the way I was hoping it would.
Bee & Nolan need their newest project, a Christmas movie for the wholesome Hope Channel, to be a hit both for different reasons. Nolan, a former member of a boy band is desperately trying to rebuild his image from the labeled bad boy to a serious actor and Bee has just been handed the keys to her first mainstream acting gig but the two have secrets they are hiding that could derail not only the movie but their careers going forward if anyone were to find out. Both vow to be on their best behaviors but when they arrive in Christmas Notch, Vermont sparks begin to fly as fast and as furious as the snowflakes. Soon enough the two are steaming up set but the arrival of a notorious gossip columnist has Bee and Nolan on edge. One wrong step could ruin it all. I went into "A Merry Little Meet Cute" blind having just been sent the galley and saw the cute cover and thought it would be a typical sugar-coated Christmas read. Boy, was I wrong! I'm not a steamy romance reader on the regular so I was a little thrown off at first by the content in this book but considering the premise it didn't feel out of place. I'm sure a certain holiday movie channel would have stellar ratings if Bee & Nolan's Hope Channel movie was actually made. Who doesn't love a time traveling Christmas Duke? If (very) steamy romance books are your thing, give this one a try for your next holiday read. Thank you to NetGalley and Avon Books for the advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.
