Isabella Butterworth is confused when a man turns up demanding to know why she lives in Isabella Butterworth’s flat and where Isabella is. Having had a few emails sent to her for a different Isabella Butterworth she decides to look into the other woman and is stunned to learn she lives in the same city as her. Fearing that the man who accosted her is a threat to the other Isabella she befriends her but under an assumed identity which turns out to be only the start of the lies in this warped friendship. This was an intriguing premise from a great author but there were times I found it hard going and sad to say it didn’t throw up too many surprises although it was a well planned and complex thriller with deliciously dark characters. 7/10
