Thanks Netgalley for allowing me to read this book. Lucy is excited about Christmas. She has a new boyfriend who brings out the best in her and can't wait to spend more time with him. Everything is going well, until her ex boyfriend appears. I liked this book.
A thoroughly cosy Christmas read to curl up with. This is a second book featuring Lucy and Jack and their mobile catering businesses, but I think it stands alone as there are enough references to keep the reader in the loop to what went on before. Enjoyable light festive read although there were one of two niggles along the way but not enough to spoil the story.
Lucy, Jack and Daisy the dog are back in this fun read that will please their fans but also be fine as a standalone. She's got a pizza van, he sells cocktails and together, they make an ace team caring for Daisy, a dachshund. But now, just as all is going so well, someone has slashed Lucy's tires- and her ex Liam is back in town. Yikes. It' a good setting, most of the people are people you'd like to spend time with and, it's got a nice spirit (even with the tension). Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. Good for a rainy day.
Fall in love with daisy the Dachshund and his owner. The festivities ramp up for meetings for Jack and Lucy. Can they make their relationship work? Set in the Northumberland stunning coast you feel the warmth of the characters come off the page and in to your heart. I will be looking out for more books by Caroline Roberts.
An enjoyable light read, carrying on from previous books by this author but able to be read independently. If you want to read a light, fun, Christmassy novel, this works perfectly. I do enjoy that this author uses a not-overworked part of the country for this series of novels, that she obviously knows well.
Continuing the story of Lucy and her "All Fired Up" pizza horse box on the business front things are going well. Her relationship with Jack with his Cocktail Campervan doesn't go so smoothly though.
It was great to return to this series as I'd enjoyed the first book and its setting. The pizzas sound delicious and I wouldn't mind trying some of the cocktails either. I also liked the "special guest appearances" by characters from other of the author's books set in the area, including the Castle tea rooms. After a steady start the story builds towards the end when Lucy and Jack have to re-evaluate their relationship.
I received an advance copy of this book from the publisher through Netgalley, however this did not influence my review of the book and I have already pre-ordered it as I enjoyed reading it so much.
I fell in love with all the characters in this book. I loved the camper van food truck idea that was going on in this book. The ending was so great, and I felt you could really feel what the characters were feeling.
I looked forward to starting this so much. After already following the story of Jack and Lucy in the previous book, I was excited to see what came next for them with a Christmas twist.
The community once again sucked me straight in and the cozy festive vibes were excellent for getting me in the mood for the season, who doesn't love a good Christmas fair?!
Once again the characters have a little bit of a rocky road to happiness but it addresses real problems and worries in relationships and that really makes this believable.
Once again the character of Daisy the dachshund us utterly delightful and just gives this that extra sparkle.
I love books by Caroline Roberts, you're always in for such a treat!
I loved re-visiting Northumberland with Lucy, Jack and Daisy the dachshund! It was really lovely to catch up with them and see how the latest adventure unfolded.
There were some cameos of characters from some of the author’s other books, which I enjoyed. It made the setting seem even more real.
It’s a fab easy read, and perfect for the autumn evenings and approach to the festive season
Thank you to Harper Collins and Netgalley for my free advanced copy. This review is my own honest opinion
4.5 stars
They say never to judge a book by it’s cover, well I’m certainly guilty of that, because when I set eyes on this beautiful new book by Caroline Roberts I was totally drawn in, the cover is absolutely stunning and give me all of those warm Christmassy vibes and I immediately new I would love it.
This is the second book in the Cosy Campervan Series and whilst I haven’t read book one yet, it didn’t matter as this is a perfect stand alone book to read.
Everything is going well for Lucy, her new business venture is starting to take off, she has her very own cosy cottage where she lives with her beloved dog Daisy and then there’s Jack, Handsome, Charismatic Jack, the owner of “Ruby” the Cocktail Campervan.
Lucy is welcomed into the new community with open arms, but when she wakens one morning to find that her converted pizza horsebox has been vandalised and all of the tires have been slashed, it leaves her feeling rather unsettled and when she spots her ex-boyfriend Liam at the first wedding she has catered for, things start to take a turn for the worst.
I don’t want to give to much away as I hate spoilers and you really do need to give this book a read. It is a beautiful story full of Christmas Magic and true love reigns through in the end.
If you are a fan of Caroline’s books then this is a definite must read for you. This book is the perfect gift for anyone that likes to reads Christmas stories and get swept away.
So grab yourself a hot chocolate or mulled wine, curl up on the sofa and dive in, trust me, you won’t be disappointed.
I would like to say a big thank you to One More Chapter a division of Harper Collins and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an open and honest review.
A camper van and a horse box what could happen, read this to find out and enjoy a great story. This is alovley Christmas read, there is nothing to dilike about this book. 5 stars
Thanks to Netgalley and publisher for this ARC
Lucy starts a new pizza business in a horsebox when she meets Jack who is doing cocktails from a campervan and they get on really well. Then Lucy's ex turns up wanting to get back with her
This is book two in the camper van series and I was so excited that it would be a Christmas story! It was so fabulous to revisit Lucy and Jake, I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it and really wished I had a cheeky cocktail to enjoy!
Lucy and Jake are back with the camper van taking part in the Christmas markets and events. Everything is going so well until Lucy’s ex shows up, whatever could go wrong from this?!😅
This story revisits Lucy and Jack from 'The cocktail campervan'- it's a slower burner than that and it took me a while before I understood why we were revisiting their story. I like Robert's writing - it flows nicely, has good description but not too much that it feels unnatural or makes the story clunky. Northumberland makes a charming backdrop, as ever, for her stories. It's a good read, but I didn't enjoy it as much as her others... 'The Cosy Teashop at the castle ' for example - but I did love those characters appearing in this! A nice read.
This is the second book about the cozy campervan and I enjoyed it as much as the first. It was nice to meet Lucy and Jack again as well as a few other characters and the setting is so lovely too. It gave me nice Christmassy feel and I def recommend it on a cold winters night, cozied up in front of the fire. I nice feel good story that did not disappoint. Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the chance to read this early copy
Thanks to netgalley for the chance to read this book.
The second book in the cosy campervan series and it didn’t disappoint.
Lucy runs a pizza horse box business whilst Jack shakes things up in his cocktail campervan. Their relationship starts to blossom until Lucy’s ex Liam turns up. Jack is convinced Lucy and Liam are together and is undecided on whether to stay or runaway. Lucy is all setup at a venue they are both taking part in, Lucy starts to worry when Jack is over an hour late and sends her brother out to look for Jack. Her brother finds he has hit black ice, crashed his campervan, is injured and on his way to hospital. Lucy leaves the venue and rushes to the hospital. Can they put the past behind them and move forward with their relationship or will Jack decide to runaway.
A great Christmas read.
A gorgeous festive read, catching up with Lucy, from All Fired Up, and Jack, from The Cocktail Camper Van. Following the twists and turns of their new relationship. Sweet, easy to read and enjoyable. Lovely to meet some of the characters from previous books, including Rachel from the Pudding Pantry and Ellie from the Castle. If you liked Caroline Roberts previous books, you will love this!
Note, it took me a lot longer to read, as it was interrupted by the death of Queen Elizabeth II which put me off reading for a while…
Mistletoe and Mulled Wine at the Christmas Campervan is the second book in The Cosy Campervan series and I loved it. Once again we join Lucy with her pizza van business and Jack with his cocktail camper van. Set during the festive period, it’s a heartwarming, uplifting novel cult of love, warmth and a gorgeous daschund. A perfect book to get lost in over the Christmas season. Thank you to NetGalley, Harper Collins UK One More Chapter and the author for the chance to review.
This is Book 2 in the Cosy Campervan series from Caroline Roberts, following on from The Seaside Cocktail Campervan, by the same author. Although this book contains the same principal characters as the previous one, each can still be enjoyed as a standalone. I certainly enjoyed the first book in the series, and looked forward to learning more about these characters and their unusual food vans.
This story takes place a few months after the first book in the series, and Lucy and Jack are now a couple. With Christmas fast approaching, both are in demand at events, Lucy with her pizza horse box and Jack with his converted VW campervan from which he serves cocktails, mocktails and other beverages. Things are going well until Lucy’s ex, Liam, appears on the scene, hoping to win her back. Jack doesn’t take kindly to this, and their relationship becomes strained. Add to that a few problems with the winter weather and a growing concern that Jack may be keeping something from her, and Lucy’s festive spirit is subsiding fast.
I very much enjoyed this second story in the series. It was nice to be able to catch up with Jack and Lucy, and, of course, Lucy’s adorable Dachshund Daisy. There are some wonderfully descriptive visits to the beaches of the Northumberland coast where the three of them go for long walks; I could almost feel the sand under my feet and the sea spray on my face. Lucy and Jack take the food vans to many different types of venues showcasing the natural beauty of the area. Naturally, there is lots of scrumptious food and drink being prepared and consumed as all sorts of food vans gather at the various events they attend. In addition, the village where Lucy lives is home to a coffee shop that serves mouth watering cakes. This is definitely a book to be read with accompanying snacks to prevent a rumbling stomach. Even once you have finished with the story, the author has thoughtfully added some recipes for festive cocktails, sweet treats and even Lucy’s Christmas dinner-themed pizza. I would not hesitate to recommend this book; it can’t fail to fill the reader with Christmas cheer.
A lovely romantic Christmas read that will make you want to stop and finish it in one sitting.
Lucy has just come out of a bad relationship and is making her life right again, she has a pizza horse box All fired up, that she travels around to events and has been loving it. Jack has a campervan and is The Cocktail King at events. When there paths crossed at an event, love blossoms until Lucy’s ex shows up.
Loved all the characters, the events, the snow, everything about this book. Wanted to jump into the book and live in the town. Looking forward to reading the first book in this series.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for a copy for an honest review. 5 stars
