A fantastic summer read that I think readers of all ages will thoroughly enjoy. I highly recommend this book, it will keep you wanting to know what happens next. Strong characters help move an intricate plot through beautiful settings. This book will keep you up late at night. Great narrator.

Like his earlier book, Red Notice, Bill Browder's Freezing Order reads like a fictional thriller; but it's real! Both books are important reading to understand the Russian mindset under Putin's regime. A mindset that does not factor justice or fairness into its strategy. Keep reminding yourself that this is a true story complete with disinformation within the halls of Congress and an all-out assault on truth. Thankfully, there are some heroes but it is clear more are needed.

This book is a long and complicated but very very interesting story about hedge funds, thievery and murder and that involves the Russian government. I have read Bill Browder‘s first book red notice and loved it. Sometimes you read nonfiction books and think wow that can’t be true, but I have read enough political sabotage books to know it is. There is so much underhanded political happenings not only in Russia but also in America and Bill Browder and gets right to the point and holds no punches. I will say this is the first political book I have read that it made me cry at the end. I was so happy for Natasha and Nikita and I laughed at the and when Nikita spoke privately with Bill. I am glad he ended it with a funny story, because the prior 10 hours of the book with heart stopping. Russia breaks the law and then makes new ones as they go going as far as a try and prosecute a dead man that they killed. This book was so good it reminded me of the book the devils chessboard, with the exception no one got their come up it’s in that book. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves political intrigue that is true and not made up. This is so good I can’t say that enough! I gave it five stars and think the narrator deserves five stars as well he was really good and he also did the Russian and British accents great as well. I was given this audiobook by Matt galley and I am leaving this review voluntarily. Please forgive any grammar or punctuation errors as I am blind and dictate my review but all opinions are definitely my own.

This is a true crime, political memoir. The author, Bill Browder, fights to avenge the death of his lawyer Sergei Magnitsky. He undercovers a scheme that ran from Putnin to Trump. Browder documents in a readable fashion his findings, experiences, and outlines (and thus far surviving) being on Putnin's hit list; all the while working, maintaining his family as well as taking responsibility for Magnitsky's wife and son. Browder, a UK citizen, travelled quite a bit and he shares (minimally) the fear entering different countries. Would Trump (US) sell him out to Putnin (Russia)?

Well-done, current, and a thinker.

Narrator Adam Grupper did a nice job.

This timely audiobook is fascinating and the narrator brought the story to life.

The first section of the book summarizes the plot of "Red Notice" so those of us that have previously read it may find the beginning of this book repetitive. Browder then moves on to bring us up to date on his quest to get the Magnitsky Act passed outside the US.

“Magnitsky Act, which would ban visas and freeze assets of Russian human rights violators, including those who had tortured and killed Sergei.”
― Bill Browder, Freezing Order: A True Story of Money Laundering, Murder, and Surviving Vladimir Putin's Wrath

Browder proves to be a true friend and resilient crusader in ensuring that the death of his lawyer and friend was not in vain. Many of us would have given up when Putin and his enablers targeted us, but not Browder. His experiences read like an action/thriller movie, but it's all frightening true. I can't imagine the stress that he and his family have endured in their fight for justice.

I highly recommend listening to this book. It may evoke many emotions, but is ultimately hopeful.

"The worst form of injustice is pretended justice." (Plato)

Freezing Order by Bill Browder appealed to me on several levels with Ukraine being on the forefront. The information on the Magnitsky Act was very informative. I marveled at how quick thinking he was in sending out a tweet to alert others to his jail predicament. The corruption in government was apparent, yet I felt the author tried to blame one politician using a basis that has been disproven. I was very disappointed that the author bashed Trump and made details fit his scenario. Adam Grupper did a great job performing this audiobook. Typically I do not listen to many biographies, yet this one pulled me in until near the end, where it became a political rant. Thank you #NetGalley and #Recorded Books for allowing me to listen to this book. The book was good until he kept pushing the Russia Collusion that much of the media pushed down our throats for years.

A follow-up to his first book, Red Notice, Browder retells the deceitful acts of the Russian oligarchs including, theft, money laundering, defamation, framing, and murder. Browders main goal is to get The Magnitsky Act signed into U.S. law. He finally does it!

After his attorney was kidnapped and killed by the Russians, Browder deemed it his responsibility to bring action against those peoples. Enter The Global Magnitsky Act! This was signed into law in 2016 and it makes it so the U.S. can sanction foreign government officials (like we've just recently seen!) who are human rights offenders, freeze their assets and ban them from entering the U.S. I'm just envisioning those yachts right now...

The book is steeped with a lot of Russian names that I quickly lost track of. Lots of dates and concerning circumstances that started to blend. My overall take is...Browder is LUCKY to be alive to this day! He has avidly worked against Putin and the oligarchs to defend himself and attempt to bring justice to those they have cruelly framed, murdered or used as a scapegoat and put in prison.

He addresses some of his concerns with Trumps relationship with Putin and Russia in general--I'm now going to go down the rabbit hole to see what Browder has to say about Russia today!

Thank you to NetGalley and RB Media for the complimentary audiobook.

4.5 stars. This book follows up Browder's first book Red Notice. I flew through this book and felt like it told more of the story with a lot of the background details of what he and his family went through as prime targets of Putin. If you didn't read Red Notice, it picks up with the murder of his Russian attorney and carries you through the present time with the challenges of trying to get the governments of many countries to pass the Magnitsky Act, while Putin was poisoning or murdering as many of his enemies as he could. It highlighted how many Russian oligarchs are using our own country to their advantage and how far their tentacles reach into our own government. He and his team uncovered the BILLIONS of dollars that the Russian's launder around the world through the banking system! It was Browder's campaign to expose Putin's corruption that caused Putin to intervene in the election between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. So much that was reported was all Putin's work. A fascinating and hard to put down book - I listened on Audible in two days!! Many thanks to NetGalley!

Excellent recounting of a terrible story beginning with a wild trip to the police station in Spain. Then the awful history of the murder of Sergei Magnitsky and the many killings that ensue. All to protect Putin and his cohort from having their evil machinations exposed.
It was so compelling that I listened to the whole thing in one day. The narrator was very good too. I plan to go back and read the previous book Red Notice.
