Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC. I struggle a lot reading this due to the very blurry quality of the download provided. I was able to read the text but was unable to make out the images which makes it very difficult to understand what is happening. I liked the concept of the story (inherited magic, sorcerers, etc) more than the actual story. It was a bit confusing and hard to get into for me.
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the electronic review copy of this book. I liked the concept of the story (inherited magic, sorcerers, etc) more than the actual story. It was a bit confusing and hard to get into for me. Perhaps the intended audience would understand and enjoy it more.
Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC of this volume. I am afraid I am struggling to provide a fair assessment due to the very blurry quality of the download provided - though I am able to read the text, I am sadly unable to make out the images which makes it very difficult to understand who is saying what and the context around what is happening. It seems like there is extensive worldbuilding and this could be quite a substantial storyline, so I am saddened to have the technical difficulty I am encountering!
I think this would be great to read in paperback or a slightly less fuzzy version of the e-book because it does seem to have some storyline from the bubbles of text I have read, I just can't sadly understand.
First of all I would like to thank Netgallery and Odunze Oguguo for providing me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I will say the copy sent to me by Netgallery was hard to read but I did push through and finish the book. It did take me a while to get into the story but once some the action started it was a great read. The art was black and white and what I could see it was really but again the copy sent to me some of the art was blurry. I'd love to read the next one.
Unfortunately the digital copy provided was really rough. The story looked like it might be promising, but just didn't stand out from how far I got reading. That being said, it's possible it grows into its own later, I just couldn't keep squinting to read in combination with the blurred pictures. Got through somewhere between the first half to two thirds of the book and had to give up. I'll probably see how it does once it gets published before making a final decision.
From the text of the graphic novel the story seemed interesting but I just couldnt finish it. The copy provided by NetGalley is so blurry and ineligible art wise that I couldn't follow the panels or see what was going on hardly at all. I'm sure a clearer copy will net better reviews as people will be able to take in the full scope of the graphic novel as intended but unfortunately with how it is now I'm not able to get through the whole thing or comment much on it.
This wasn't the book for me, but I can see its appeal for people who like action-focused adventure stories. The art was nice, but the exposition was heavy. Thank you for the opportunity to read this advanced copy.
The copy that was given for readers to read was really illegible. I had to strain to read it, so I barely got through any of the this volume. From a glance, it just seems like a typical shonen manga, maybe even copying off the wizards/sorcerers theme that Mashle has. Just read Mashle, its funnier.
