The Little Prince helps readers learn about feelings. Using examples of when The Little Prince has experienced different emotions, he helps readers recognize and express what they feel too.
Delporte uses the Little Prince characters to make a short, informative book geared toward a young audience. I felt like the word choice wasn’t always consistent with the young audience, and some of the explanations are stated as fact when they are simply one way those emotions can be expressed. Overall, though, the message is still good for children learning about their emotions.
The Little Prince is depicted as White in the illustrations.

I’m a bit disappointed in this book. Tt started out pretty good with describing each emotion has a color. I think that works. Each page also has a description of that emotion, and these get a little long. It has a little blurb from the Little Prince. Mainly the Little Prince is the illustrations the story part is extremely lacking. To me this is the book I would check out once.
I had great success reading this book with a 10-year-old with autism who is still finding his voice and grappling with understanding and expressing emotions. He used the questions at the end of each feeling to say what makes him happy/sad/fearful etc. He liked the colour code and I liked that it corresponded to our feelings thermometer that we use in our sessions.
Poor Little Prince, he’s out of touch with reality. How about using some relatable triggers for the different emotions? Angry because the rose didn’t talk nice? Confused because there was no one on earth when he arrived? How about angry because the princess got a larger slice of cake or confused because he woke up too early and thought it was the next evening? And the vocabulary. What child is going to need a picture book, but understand those advanced words. The poor parent who has to translate!
An excellent short but beautiful book about feelings with colour associations to help the reader name and relate to their feelings. With lovely illustrations of the Little Prince and mindful exercises at the end of the book, this will be an asset to parents, teachers and therapists helping children and young people learn to explore and manage their feelings.
thanks to #NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book ahead of publication in exchange for an honest review
Each feeling has a corresponding color in this book. There are questions for the reader to consider what makes them feel each feeling as well as an explanation of the emotion. I think counselors would benefit from having this book for youngsters.

Who doesn't love the little prince? It is such a magical book...
This one helps to uncover various emotions, honestly the little prince felt like a smart tactic to get the attention of the many many fans.
The colour codes was clever and the illustrations so lovely.
Helpful book but the main character could have been anyone.
I picked up this book from Netgalley. It’s very well explained and illustrated and an ideal Children’s book. Each of the feeling was depicted as to what it means, how body displays it along with giving context by asking appropriate questions. The book also covers some ways to overcome negative emotions. Glad that I picked this up and would recommend to every parent to hand it over to your child since they would definitely enjoy it.
This childrens book follows a prince while he navigates his feelings. The book is organized into two pages per emotion - the first page includes a description of the emotion and a color that the author feels represents that emotion, followed by an experience that makes the prince feel the emotion and a question for the reader asking what makes them feel that emotion. I really like the use of color in this book and the examples of each emotion that are provided, however I feel like the "negative" emotions - sadness, fear, anger were oversimplified and require a bit more nuance and depth to be understood better especially for children who are learning how to label and deal with them. At the end of the book the author included exercises for navigating certain emotions. I thought this was a really neat idea.
The Little Prince book of feelings is a great book for children. It explains what the feeling is, gives an example from the story of a little Prince and then asks the child to think about what makes them feel that emotion.
I work with children with learning difficulties and I use this type of activity all the time. Letting the little ones know it's okay to feel feelings.
Great little book.
Who better than the Little Prince to teach kids about emotions? The author cleverly uses from the classic French tale to illustrate a range of emotions, from joy to sadness, in a way that will help kids understand and process these feelings.
I thought this was a very cute and informative book. I work in an elementary school and I am always looking for new books to read with my students on emotions.
I love The Little Prince and always imagine reading this story to my kid n the bedstory time. I tried, but then I realise that, unfortunately, it is too complex and difficult for the youngest and it is just too early to read it to her.
Then, I found it. The Little Prince's inspiration and book about... the emotions. Beautiful illustrations, simple description - perfect for the kids who are starting to learn about the world and their reactions.
Mut have in the kids' library
The explanation of emotions was well done, however a few of the examples could use finessing. The example for anger was confusing. Why did the rose anger him? I felt there were better, more relatable examples for a child experiencing anger. Surprise was also a tad strange. Again, I feel there are better examples of experiencing surprise that a child could relate to. I liked the coping techniques at the end that gave a practical real-life approach to emotions. Overall it was good, but some of the examples could have been better.
Thank you to Chouette Publishing for the digital ARC provided via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
A very cute picture book to explore your kid's emotions ans put words on them. Each emotion is illustrated by an example from the Little Prince's story and with a beautiful drawing by Saint-Exupéry. Really cute, easy to read and educational. Age 5
What a lovely new way to revisit the Little Prince! Read this one, and so loved seeing the Little Prince in a new way, and exploring emotions.
This is a delightful oversized board book. It includes the beloved character from the original story of "The Little Prince" by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry which is a children's classic. Little ones can come to an understanding of their every day emotions as the book is shared and discussed with them. Many times little ones find it difficult to express their feelings and find it hard to manage them.
The author has included the emotions of joy, surprise, anger, love, fear, sadness, and calm. She has highlighted four exercises at the end to help children process their feelings and emotions which will increase their self-awareness and confidence.
The illustrations of course are epic and this book would be a wonderful asset to a teacher, psychologist and parent. I highly endorse this book!
As students returned to the classroom this year, social-emotional learning has been very important in the classroom. This was a great book to begin a discussion with my students about their feeling and emotions and how to address them.
Such an amazing book and so colorful yet so wonderfully put together. Kids and grownups alike are going to look this one. Am waiting for the book to come out in print. Definitely on my gifting list this year
Thank you Netgalley and Chouette books for the ARC
A nice book for teaching younger children about feelings and how to deal with different emotions. Also a nice introduction to the characters from The Little Prince.
